a number of people i ve spoken to believe the forums now not to be moderated by fair and impartial people . is there an incrowd mentality that is allowing more longer term posters to say rude and offencive things in the forums that should be removed . should mmorpg be looking at the actions of its some of its moderators and maybe replacing them with more responsible people ?

you've just joined today, who have u talked to and how do you know the moderators are not being fair
You guys better watch out! You might get a Mod mad at you.

My guess is he has not just joined today, he was just recently banned and so came back on an alt account to make a post about it.
Life isn't fair.
obviously i ve done it under an alias simply to protect my main account . its really a poll put up to see if my recent experiance is wide spread or weather its just a one off . for the interests of these forum and site in general i would advise they allow this thread to keep going . closing it will prove a problem exists . its a good poll to have going on a site such as this because it will be vote on the current standard of moderation of the site at any one point . if it does turn out to be bad now or in the future then perhaps they should take this into consideration .

What does QFT mean?

By your writing "skills" I am going to make an "unfair" assumption about your education level.
By your education level I am going to doubt your abilty to know what a proxy is.
By knowing this I know you didn't properly protect your account.
This is not a democracy. They get to ban who they want to. So far I haven't been banned and I've said some dumb things at times. People who get banned often don't realize what they are saying isn't a good thing to say.
This guys serious business, he gave an ultimatum to the mods!
Closing this thread would not prove a problem exists, it would prove they follow the eula as it is written, which states you shouldn't make public posts about banning or moderation decisions.
PS. They can see your ip, and the ip of your main account... you aren't protecting anything.
in repsonce to we might get a mod mad at us ...mods should by fair and unbiased and should not allow personal opinions ,beliefs or friendships they may have with people on the site to contribute to thier actions as a moderator . i think most decent moderators would agree with that .
agreed its not a demorcacy but it is an open forum and the standard of moderation is important if a site such as this wants a good user base . if a problem exists do they want to scare away new users . ... i m not saying one does but if it does would nt a poll such as this a benafit to the site owners ? its not about making moderators mad at all . if theres no problem it ll show up in the vote obviously .
It won't get interesting untill at least 100 people manage to vote for this. Let's see if the moderators have enough balls to leave this open
I for one am sure alot of the 600000 accounts are re-created-after-ban accounts. It's probably more like 300000. We'll see how this goes ^^
You are aware that there are many, if not most, higher educations that never ever mentions what a proxy is in computer terms?
As it seems you do not though, is it ok that we question your experience with school as well?
As to the OP, yes the site has become stricter, for everyone I believe, nothing unfair about that.
Allthough the question has been raised a couple of times to how "unbiased" the moderation on this site has become.
Not that it matters, there is little we can do about it as debating this very issue is against the rules.
This place is still the best for MMO related news and articles.
The gap to the runner ups have diminished considerably in the last year though.

I am going to make fun of your math, m' kay?
300 000 recreated accounts.
300 000 normal accounts.
Meaning that at one time (since they had to be there before getting banned)
600 000+ accounts. Seeing as that some people don't come back after being banned it would be....
700 000 - 1 000 000 accounts.
I don't remember a time when MMORPG.com had a million accounts. Do you?

Heh. I didn't learn about proxies at school if that's what you mean. I am saying that if he has a low education than it serves to follow it is doubtable that he would understand what a proxy is.
Also as for my education, I am going into grade ten. That's right I'm only 15. Still smarter than alot of the people on here.
as i ve said its in the moderators and the sites interest to keep it going . i am giving people a voice if there is a problem and if there is mmorpg really needs to look into it for the long term health of thier site ..... its not offencive in any way even to moderators . it will show that they are doing a great job if indeed they are .......at the end of the day that may well be the outcome of the poll
I agree whith your sentiment that moderation should be fair and unbiased.
I disagree with your statement that "if theres no problem it ll show up in the vote obviously".
Disgrunteld memebers are more likely to vote than satisfied members. They only way for your poll to have any real value is to force all members to vote. Obviously niether you or I have the power to make that happen.
For the record I voted that the moderation is fine.
What does reversed logic/math do you any good ?

This is the average , every evening. How many of these people are forums whores that visit this forum daily, my guess, 20% at least. Leaves about 90 accounts that vary. My point is/was that getting all the subscribed people to vote, woud be ridiculous.
At least half of these accounts is a double account, that's 300000( single ban, double ban, triple ban, you name it ), only a small percentage of those accounts actually still posts on a daily basis, deducted from the amount of peope, average online at any given time per day. Averages out on 125. Lets assume per hour, thats 100 different users, so that's 2400 users per day that dont "haunt"the forums and a total of 3000.
Maybe we should do it per half hour, per 15 min, per minute. Maybe if you'd do it per 15 seconds, you'd get it to 300000.
Thats why I said, 100 votes would be slightly representable. It didn't have anything to do with the actual amount.
btw, m'kay ? how fucking old are you ? shiiit.
I am just making fun of how you think that half of the people on here have been banned.
If half have been banned then they would have need an account ot begin with to get banend meaning that there would have been 600 000.
But since not everyone who gets banned comes back it would be over 600 000.
Meaning there is 700 000 to 1 000 000 accounts at a time.
Obviously there is some mix up though so I won't try to explain my point of view any further.
EDIT:
I just said my age. 15. Shhiiiiiittt.
You make two (wrong) assumptions there.
1. Some people that get banned, never return
2. People that get banned, make a second account, but never more.
You can't prove either.
If you were such a math pro as you flatter yourself so much with, you'd see that you're in a dead end now. The only time your model would work, is when those rules you gave to it, apply without doubt.
15 ? yo momma let you play games son ? hehe , 7 years too early to bigmouth me anyways.
i disagree as many happy members will vote as disgruntled ones ... as the vote is currently showing . always wondered is gruntled a word if you can be disgruntled can you be gruntled if not why not lol i d like to be gruntled it sounds fun (joke for those of you without a sence of humour)
It's not the humor..it's not being able to understand what you say.
Anyways you are making generalizations as well since you pretty much need to be on the forums to get banned anyway.
You assume that half of everyone gets banned. i really do doubt that for multiple reasons, but mostly because not everyone goes on the forums.
You also assume that I have a mother, but that is another matter.
