"We're going to expirement with cross-server queuing to reduce wait times."
Isn't it great?
I just wish they would give people from your server a higher priority.
So, in peak hours, you could play with players you know.

I kinda don't like it.
I think it takes away from the feeling of RvR.
hmmm wont that create issue with characters thu?
like since my server full they throw me on another what will happen if i want a item from a alt? it going req lot more data shifting which will make wait time longer as it try too sort the data
an how will it handle guilds if their on 5 different server or keep track of data as in i loot rare item from different server i log out or crash it throw me back on my server an does not have a record of me on this server having that rare item
even if it can keep track of all that data it still going stress the server an increase lag/logging times
then again maybe i am assuming too much
Oh, you are going to be able to play on another server if the lag is too bad and it is too crowded on your server?
This idea definitely rocks.
I always think that limiting you to a server was a bad idea, as it limit your play experience, anything to allow cross-servers experience is definitely a good idea. If your stuck with peoples that doesn't think like you nor enjoy the same thing, you can meet better players that way.

They are considering it, but it won't go through for two reasons.
1) In War, not all instances are always open (unlike wow) if server A has dwarfs laying siege to orc capitol and are doign orc capitol related scenarios (open gates etc) while server B has greenskins laying siege to dwrafs capitol, then how the hell would server ques help?
2) War is about endless struggle for conquest between order and destruction, strugle for conquest of zones on a server, struggle with players from that server. It would be stupid to get slowed down in your capture of a greenskin's zone because you can't win scenarios against destruction players who are not even playing on your server.
So, I am pretty sure they won't have cross server instances because war's pvp works different than say wow, in wow cross server ques=less downtime with little drawbacks, won't work as well in war and will have much bigger drawbacks. Maybe one day down the road when msot people stoped playing war and they need to merge servers =p
PS: Anofayle, by cross server ques they ment corss server ques for scenarios: instances pvp in warhammer. So, you probably won't experience that.
They aren't talking about queing to log into the game. They are talking about when you sign up for a PvP instance. There will be a cluster of server(or possibly all servers) that pool their players so that the wait time until you are able to get into a scenario is shortened.

I think the best thing WoW ever did for PvP was make is cross-server, but It kind of had a bad side to it. You began to play with just random people that you will never meet in open world pvp. I use to love it when I got ganked by two friends and join a BG and they are in there so I can return the favor. I even made some enemy-faction friends because of that.
I like the idea, but I have to agree with the make people on your server be picked from the queue first. Means a lot more to battle against someone that is on your server than to fight someone with a (*) who will more than likely never see again, but I guess that is what battlegroups was for. I think they should see how the queues, do without the cross-server and if they arn't that bad, then just leave out the cross-server. Or, only make it available to servers that have a low population or that need to be grouped with people who arn't on their server.
WoW had so many good ideas, just didn't know what to do with them.
For PvE, this idea would rocks.

The thing I don't understand is, don't you get tons of victory points for scenerios. If scenerios are cross realm, whose realm gets them? I've wondered how they would handle que issues, but I also don't know how it works with RvR.
Could you post the link to the article where a Mythic rep said this? This is the first I've heard of anything like this, I'd like to read the rest of the article.
The question was asked at Chicago Game Day event. I don't have the article.
Heres how it probably works; Players eanr points individually that pile up the more you win/lose. theres probably a formula that dictates how much said points factor into the ammount needed to open certain global events, such as sieges, and certain instances.
I do not stand by this statement as fact, its an assumption.
I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, The dreams in which I'm dieing are the best I've ever had.
I don't like it for reasons just beyond the technical ones. I want to fight for my realm with my comrades. I don't want to fight side by side with some scrub orc from another server. Also I don't want the opposing realm using crappy players from other servers as an excuse for them getting heir city sacked.
Personal pride > game pride > server realm pride > realm pride
Thats actually a really good point
I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, The dreams in which I'm dieing are the best I've ever had.
Yeah, when you've played these games long enough, you make your enemies of the other sides guilds, individuals, etc. and so on. Who wants to fight random people they have no association to.
In DAOC some of the funnest fights you'd just be looking to wack certain people either because you had a grudge goin with them, smack talking on the forums, or simply wanted to kill them because they were the "leet" pvp enemies.
I want to get to know my enemy, it makes it more fun when you smash em.
D.
Another valid point, I had a long standing grudge with an iksar......loooong standing.

I like the idea that they are considering it. If the servers do have balance issues regarding Order and Destruction population, its nice to know that they could implement this to mitigate queue times, but id have to say it does detract from the community aspect of a server. I guess id rather it not be in game at launch.
Warhammer fanatic since '85.
Things like this make me slowly turn away from Warhammer Online. I am getting more and more sceptical, that WAR actually WILL be a WoW clone.

I think this is a really BAD idea since RvR is ment to be all about your local server isnt it? would you care add a link to this quote please.
Right now im not sure this is true since we have dogs of war to help out in under populated scenarios.
I've agreed with most of what the developers have done to this point. Yes, cross-server queuing for a game like this is completely ridiculous & would totally take the immersion out of the game knowing that you are just fighting random people from random other servers.
Just the fact that the developers even thought of doing this makes me want to slap Jeff in the face. But, the game is not released yet & hopefully the beta testers will tell them what a stupid idea it is if/when they start testing it.
Oh, and here's the link to where the quote was said: warhammerinfo.com/gamesdaychicago.shtml
"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."
I agree X-Realm battlegrounds was one of the things I hated the most about WoW, this is a sad day, then again I guess as long as the servers are full it wont be a problem
Your all acting as if this is gonna be in the game!. They are just probably messing around with the idea but it don't mean they will implement it. I mean they probably think of alternative idea's for alot of their decisions but it don't mean they will use them. Who knows the guy who answered the question might of got his info wrong anyhoo.
I'm not a big fan of cross server queues but if the wait times are more than a minute or so they really need to. I won't sit around waiting... and it's one reason I wan't world PVP to be the king and bgs be just a side thing.
I'd much rather fight the folks on MY server, not another server. Learn to hate my enemy/etc.
http://www.greycouncil.org/
i have to agree with this
For me it's a lot funner to kill ore be killed by someone from mhy own realm (Some good /spit/rolf action ) then some random dude you will never meet again.I rather have them balancing surfer's. Back in wow when they started paid player transefure and cros realm pvp the game fell apart for me.
Personal Pride> Game Pride> Server Realm Pride>Realm Pride
It r0x0rz my b0x0rz.
But do you honostley want to wait that 1-2 maybe 3 hours just to play a scenario that last no more than approx 15 minutes? Honostley, yes, i would LOVE to be able to fight JUST my server....Which is how names get remembered, grudges are built, and revenge is dealt....But then again i dont wanna waste me time waiting to enter either.
The city sacks arn't going to be instanced i believe...To my understanding in the videos / podcasts that talked about it, it was like a World PvP / Event type thing. But who knows, maybe thatll change as well before release...
Oh and btw...i was at the chicago games day...and stayed in the WAR: online section all day lol. Long ass waits, but so damn fun to play. To the Squig herders. During the event, one of the mythic team members that was there said that a scenario people played right before my grp's turn, was in fact some what of a cross realm fight. (Cant member exactly who she said they where playing, but the people joined up alliances with another grp some where else and then fought the opposing realms)
