Favorite album ever.

Just looking at the favorite song thread for awhile made me want to make this.  I really couldn't make up my mind on my favorite song, or favorite album.  These are probably the top two.

Radiohead - Kid A

Radiohead - Amnesiac

Call me old or just plain classic, but I think that Pink Floyd The Dark side of the Moon is the best ever.

    Cheers.

I have never been a fan of buying "Albums" or CDs. But if I had to choose one, I would go with the Forrest Gump Soundtrack. 2 CDs with music covering the 50s through the late 80s. Especially love the Vietnam inspired stuff.

It's a tie between Lateralus and Ænima.

It's definitely between AC/DC The Razor's Edge or Back in Black.

Hard to say as there are quite a few I really like.  In no particular order

    Stone Temple Pilots - Core

    Stone Temple Pilots - Purple

    Velvet Revolver - Libertad

Nickelback - All the right Reasons

Foo Fighters - One By One

Goo Goo Dolls - Let Love In

I'm sure I'll think of a few more later.

A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step

    Testament - The Gathering

    Korn - Life is Peachy

Insane Clown Posse- Carnival of Carnage

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

Majority of the frequenters are metal listeners, as I am, tool is up there,  but just listening to some Amnesiac right now and its so good.

I wasn't part of this metal shenanigans until I came here, then I started listening to Tool and Pantera, and it was all downhill from there.

Heh! You beat me to it.  Every now and then I think it might be Foxtrot though, because More fool me and Battle of Epping Forest are slight let downs compared to the rest of the album.

I've been listening to Selling England for around 20 years now (not non-stop of course) and I still adore it. There are many other great albums, but nothing which I've got quite as much out of as those two Genesis classics.

Edit: Should anyone be interested, there's more info here and the chance to hear a song or two. The link is a great site for discovering some interesting music - you can also find Tool reviews and tracks for those so inclined or intrigued by those who are so inclined.

Maybe you should try to listen to their lyrics. I guarantee you that murdering families with hatchets, conjuring zombies, creating killer toys that massacre school children and a group member's quest to find all of his organs after his body explodes has nothing to do with gangstas.

Here's an excerpt from one of my favorite songs:

    "

    You like soldiers?

    We got soliders.

Made of rubber and steel, they look real, but just don't leave them under your bed; that's how you get an axe to the forehead.

No, don't leave em sit around all day.

Come home and find your mom... Dead in the hallway, cause they can be nifty.

All the toys are shifty, (Maniacal clown laugther), in my toy box

    "

    "Nevermind" - Nirvana

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"
