I have a nice idea.Most of today's MMORPG "all the same" and it's f$#@ing shame.I am suggesting of making a special accaunt at MMORPG.COM,where players can donate for a developing a real hardCore game,I mean VERY CASUAL UNFRENDLY and UNbelievable DIFFERENT with all these crazy ideas from here.Well,it will be a lot of work,but it's worth.

I don't invest money in people that can't properly write English sentences.
I was going to say that that English might be his second language. The poor guy needs to get a spell/grammar checker. I wonder if he's ever heard of MS Word.

Also he isnt saying he should get the money nor that he will be making the game. :P
It wont work, people just have to many ideas of what a good mmo should have.
I will not pay for a development until they give me some benefit from it. But, If you make some hype, probably you will find tons of people paying for the development.
I vote no thanks, because what few players wants from future of mmorpgs, isn't allways same what some other players want. It's more like when I look the OP, that is what he wants, but that is not same what I want. Sure, we both agree that "same old same" doesn't cut anymore, but the direction of mmorpgs may vary a lot by who's wishes You look at.

Well if i was wealthy and some devs came to me it might invest cash as long as it wasant ANOTHER damn Fantasy game so i voted Sci-fi.
EDIT:- there is nothing wrong with Fantasy its just ive seen so any fantasy games that were almost clones of each other im just sick and tired of them, Also compare historically the number of Fantasy MMO's with the sci-fi and see what i mean.

Oh dear, 75% of the post in this topic is from the OP.
Anyway back to topic. Maybe you mind have calculated that mmorpg appear the same and thats okie, for you at least. But take a look on other type of games. Don't you think First person shooter look the samme?, it the same basic UI on them all, and you have to collect weapon in all of them, like Doom, Halflife 2, Farcry etc. Then what about RTS game. All is about bulding a base and produce a army and then crush you enemy. Of cause it the same or is it.

well...if we did what Blizzard does with their population numbers, i think we can raise the money.
Meaning:
if every person that ever posted or created an account on mmorpg.com, from day 1 to present, sent it 1 dollar...we would have 50 billion dollars and can make the dream come true.....a game that would make Spore look teeny tiny.
but since we really and truely dont have those numbers in populace here on mmorpg.com...everyone is required to send in $127,853 bucks....each.

yup we dont have enough people here to finance a mmorpg..
I mean even if everyone game $10 that would be just over 6mil, i suppose you could licence an engine from someone else.. but then wages over the years it would take to make.. i think you would need more than that.
