Have you ever exploited a bug or game glitch you knew about to the detriment of other players OR to your unfair advantage?
Would I? Yes. Have I? I honestly can't remember. I am always the last to find out about these glitches or bugs. But my view is that it is the developer's problem there is a bug, not mine. I won't be held accountable in any way shape or form for their sloppy coding work. If there is a glitch like with a mob dropping double loot, it is asinine to hope players don't take advantage of this. Why should'nt they?? It is your sloppy code that caused this. It is something the developer needs to fix, not something that a player needs to avoid.
Have you ever used a bot or 3rd party program to level faster or play at longer lengths that otherwise able, and if not, would you ever consider it if it came with a guarantee you would not get caught.
Yes. For Star Wars Galaxies. After making my 9323'rd blaster rifle my hands developed carpal tunnel. This sort of changed my views on this and perhaps made me bitter. Thanks to a game and my stupid obsessive need to gain levels, I know have a condition that will follow me for years. So anyway, yes, I wanted Master Weaponsmith. But, my hands simply could not take the mechanical clicking involved. So I found a macro program to click everything for me. I would get all the mats, start up the macro, sit back and drink my coffee as my toon crafted away. Same goes for fishing mini-games in MMOs. I have no issue with setting up a macro program to fish for me.
Have you ever or would you ever consider using a leveling service to get your character to max - get lots of hard to attain items and/or money?
No. I don't understand this personally. First, I wouldnt trust anyone with my username and password. Strangers will have access to personal information which is an absolute nono. Second, I like playing the game. Max level is usually the final stages of a game for me. Once I max out, the game soon becomes boring.
"...and with that cryptic comment, I'm off to bed!"
Disgusting how almost half these posts are people admitting to buying gold........ Here i've always wondered why i get 500 tells a day spamming in every game
Never bought gold but personally I can see why people do. A game should not be work, when you're spending hours on something you're not enjoying where is the justification in that? Yes they are fuelling the gold-sellers. But ask yourself this. Is that their fault or Blizzard's fault. Blizzard are the ones that have chosen a system whereby the end-result can be obtained by a commonly traded(RL money for ingame) currency, and the ones who have provided the lengthy treadmill that not everyone really wants to do.
I do not know if they were exploits or not but they were removed from the game after i used them. In NGE SWG i farmed a quest on the avatar platform that gave me 150k XP per completetion that got me from level 69 to 90 in one weekend. A few weeks after that they stopped the quest from being repeatable.
I used Macros in SWG and left my computer on all weekend one time i was away in norway in order to level up my Entertainer, she was a master enterntainer when i came back from my weekend away.
I traded my account with someone else once but havent bought gold or levelling services. I have also sold one of my accounts on Ebay at a time when i was jobless and no longer playing the game anymore.
Someone asked if a 3rd party UI mod was considered cheating if using it.
Well not sure, but i'd have to say the one i used in WOW back in the eairly days probably was, but only for this reason: when i killed a mob it would auto loot it all for me.
This was a popular mod back when WOW first came out - and many people were using it.
So i'd have to say in this instance, yes this was cheating to a degree as it allowed me to do what i needed to do much faster. Also, playing in australia resulted in some nifty ping, so anytime i would manually try to loot a mob it would always take a half second to open the inventory to let me loot.
This made my life much easier and i got my quests done much faster.
I really am against 3rd party mods in any mmo and seriously hope WAR and AoC have good security. Mods ruined my WoW experience. I played a rogue and used the mod LazyRogue. What it allowed you do do was script your character to perform an action when the conditions were met. It got around the user agreement because you still had to physically push one button when you wanted to perform your script (jamming on your bound key or using a g15 keyboard). It was fun pwning everything with one button and writing a huge script was cool but it didn't last long. The game mechanics seemed a little too monotonous after using it and I quit.
I have used bugs in games, but truthfully, the only time I think about hacking or something, is in a pvp game when someone who was better then me kills me, I am never sucessful, heh I guess its my way of getting back at those 12 year olds who can beat me in FPS's
Lets be honest, not many of us here are honest to the core.
Those of use who are, i commend you.
Lets get honest and find some things about about what you have done or would do.

I'll answer first:
I have exploited a known bug one time, that allowed me a fast xp rate by kiling the same mob over and over who respawned faster than usual.
I've never used a bot or 3rd party program to get an unfair advantage in a game.
I've never used a leveling service, but i would consider it these days as i have a full time job and love PVP MMORPG's and would love to play at the top level without spending months grinding away to it.
Your honesty is appreciated.
i have used all the above. Esp. in WoW where i payed people to level my accounts, then sold for like 200% profit good times, made around 2k off it, then leveled an account by myself, then sold that one for 500$
i've exploited many bugs in WoW and some others f2p mmos.

I am avidly against the first two, but the last one doesnt matter to me as much because lets face it, some people have lives and can't spend the time to being powerlevelers like many of us are . Those who purchase items/gold to keep up with others is fine. I don't think it's the greatest thing, but it's not the worst.

Levelling service... no. However, I have considered buying in game moola before. Never have though, could never bring myself to do it. I always did my own powerlevelling, through boxing and whatnot Thats why no matter what game I play, when I first start out, I always play the class with the most "power level capabilities"... heals/buffs usually. That way later on, when my alt-itis kicks in, I can just PL myself, hehe.

I've never found any bug or glitch worth using but if i find one i'll probably do it.

no, no way i'll give my account detail to someone i dont even know.

That's the truth, and why so many players buy gold and so many gold famers thrive; the way the game's designed, the emphasis on dull, crappy farming on so many MMOs. I can't afford to buy gold and personally think its just a waste of money, but I can understand why many people do it. Some people have work and family pt social lives and want to get some MMO action, but don't want to waste time on time-consuming farming for items and money. I used to hate them, but I understand them now.
Anyway, I haven't used a levelling service or a bot, but I'll be honest and say I've been tempted many times to use the bot called Glider, especially in WoW when I used to play...I was so tired of levelling to max level after doing it a few times, and just wanted to experience another class at end game without doing the grind over again, but I was too scared too heh.

So, OP, any conclusive results yet?
Only that there are many more people that have used exploits / bots / hacks and or 'services' in MMORPG's than I was aware of.
I do find it a little depressing, but again, thanks to everyone for the honesty here.
