I'm sure both games will have their strong points, but I really think WoW will be the bigger seller. Why? EQ2 is not going to bring any new gamers to the genre - all or most of their players will come from other games. The names "Warcraft" and "Blizzard" will attract a lot of attention from players who never even thought about playing an online RPG before. On the other hand, the word "Everquest" has some negative connotations outside the MMOG world.

Your right, EQ makes me do this. Yes as you can see its very painful. When we all get a chance to play WOW it will be eternal bliss.
Ok, Everquest has more advanced graphics and experience. WoW is new and has worse graphics to the common eye, i love htem because there isnt a point in having any better. Blizzard won't know what to do when they come accross their first HUGE bug or error. Sony on yhe other hand can plan for it. So for the first month or so WoW will be very rough but im not saying Sony will be better. They have a really bad rep. for rushing things and releasing incomplete. Take SWG for example, they had nothing until this latest patch that is comming. Some say EQ2 has less lore, wich i think may or may not be the truth. EQ has been around for maybe 5 or more years im not sure, but wouldnt that be enough time to build up tons of LORE? But my vote is for WoW, im a blizz fanboy. And it just looks plain awesome.

You couldnt be more wrong, WOW has taken a differnt path for graphic creation, they dont want EQ graphics. They want WC graphics. Like WC3....BUT better
point exactly, many ppl complain about WoW having crap graphics for a MMORPG but they don't realise Blizz's intentions. Blizz wanted to keep that Warcraft "touch" in WoW, they placed the cartoon like graphics in to do that.
I know huge EQ fanboys that arent going to play EQ2 because they say its disscusting, everything about it. The graphics customer service and alot more. So dont say its JUST the WoW guys.
I'd rather have world of warcraft. I don't think I would get EQ2 even if WoW didn't exist because it doesn't really interest me. I also like WoW's graphics style better then EQ2's, plus lots more people with average PCs can play WoW and not need a high-end comp.

Neither will "Take it all" as you put it. It is statiscally impossible for one game to have everyone on the planet playing it. It is impossible even to get every gamer to play it. I think WoW will do better in sells if that is what you mean.

It depends on which game comes out first. If EQ2 would release before WoW some WoW fans might get tired of waiting and go out and buy EQ2 and the same could be said the other way around

He meant "take it all" in the sense of becoming a better selling mmorpg with a bigger fanbase. WoW allready has a pretty good sized fanbase because its blizzard. Alot of EQ players dont want to deal with sony again and would just like to stick with their EQ toons because they spent so much time on them. You are right though, no game can "Take it all" in the sense of having ever mmo gamer playing it.

From what I read on EQ2 and WoW seems WoW has better play style and more content but EQ2 has better graphics.... but graphics dont make a game just look at lineage 2 =P....plus EQ2 is made by SOE who made Starwars galaxies which was a total piece of shit game that tanked from day one and still has bugs from beta still in game today A YEAR LATER!!! WOW's content easily blows away the content of EQ2. WOW has a immensely unique fantasy world that is unrivaled by anything available on the MMORPG market at the moment. And even EQ2 cannot hope to compete with WOW. EQ2 is only aimed at pleasing the hardcore EQ1 fanboys and power gamerz. WOW on the other hand has content and story to appeal to all kind of gamers. Blizzard fans, Warcraft fans, MMORPG fans, and casual gamers will all be able to find something to really love about this great game. The classes and races are all unique and exiciting, and not so pointlessly numerous as to confuse or annoy people.
The graphics in EQ2 have nothing on WOW. EQ2 is trying to substitute super high polygon counts for true artistic value. WOW's graphics are colourful and unique and no one would ever mistake them for anything but World of Warcraft! EQ2 on the other hand uses bland and boring graphics that look like generic cardboard fantasy type pics that lack any kind of uniquness or originality whatsoever. Not to mention EQ2 will require everyone to upgrade their computer to super fast high speed with tonnes of RAMM and $500 video cards if you want it to run at all smoothly. And even then, it still won't look as good as WOW will. The world of Norrath can't compare to that of Azeroth.
World of Warcraft will also have a vastly superior community to that of EQ2 because it will appeal to many kinds of gamers, and not just annoying whiny hardcore power gamerz who played EQ1 and are moving to EQ2 and aren't very friendly.
All in all, WOW will pwnz EQ2 in basically every single category that matters! And not to mention SOE is terrible for testing their games, so when EQ2 comes out it will be really unstable and crash a whole lot for the first month or two after release. And even after that the customer support will be really crappy just like it is for every other SOE game that there is out there.
All in all, WOW is better.
