I'm reasonably sure that you don't actually understand what the words GRIND, TWINK, or GANK mean, and are just regurgitating them because you saw them written a lot by other people who had the same problem.
Ignoring that little failure, any PvP system which gets people like you to stop playing the game entirely is a good thing. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you're not fun to play with, against, or near. Any game that doesn't get you to cry and quit is poorly designed, in my opinion.
Im reasonably sure your a lying fanboy. (See, I know all the lingo)
God I hate you for making me agree with Rolling Dutch but you don't know what Grind-twink-gank means. because if you did then you would know that what you suggest is happeneing is about the stupidest thing you can do.
Grind- Okay, you can grind for isk, note that you can't grind for SP so there is no grinding there Perhaps grind for officer items which is possible.
Twink- To twink is to use a higher SP character to provide high grade equipment for a lower level character. Doing this is a waste of time as you'd be better off having the quality equipment on your Higher SP character not a low character.
Gank- well 0.0 is open space if you got killed there HAHA no kidding. people have to defend there stuff because its not nicely reset everytime somebody wins a BG. if you want to utilize an area safetly you best keep it clear of potentioal hostiles and that mean alt scouts and unkowns. If you got killed in Empire to a Suicide Gank, the only true ganking going on, then they sure the hell weren't twinks since the ships get destroyed they were more and likely the cheapest thing possible not a "twinked" setup. Low sec well low sec is pirate central but livable in quite easily.
So more and likely in the end, you were killed by a group of people trying to protect their space that they use. And you decided to go back and try it again or more liekly your clone popped you back up in a station that would put you still out in thier space and tried to operate around it again. So if you had Read up on the political situation in EVE, which actually exsists unlike in WoW, you might have not gotten your 2 ships killed. Or at least learned your lesson from the first mistake.
On this ganker thing.... Its not ganking. Its the hopes that someone is moving some BPO's from low sec to empire. Have had some friends hit the big time killing a noob in a shuttle,
Eve Online is nothing but random ganking like on a PVP WOW server. You will deny it, lets just leave it like that. And it isn't just the random ganking which is exactly like WOW, it is the route players take to do their random ganking GRIND-->TWINK-->GANK. Eve Online is now like an old WOW server, with lots of high levels running around ganking for kicks.
i was hoping that you would discuss the issue and actually find out more and discover the game. pity, you just want to keep to your ingnorant suposition after never atualy playing the game.
leave it at that? sure, all you do is repeat what you said with no evidence so there is no point in discussing it with you. you take a position of ignorance and lash out to avoid the fact that you were the one who failed to play the game.
as such you are simply a troll as you don't want anything to do with game and you are comming here to get a rise with no intention of learning or adjusting your opinion.
Hey genius you ever hear of high sec systems? Thats where you go so you cant get ganked. Thats where you go so you can prepare yourself so that you DONT get ganked. I dont care what game you play, you cant just run into a pvp area and expect to kick everyones a$$. Get used to it. Stop whining. You were dumb, you lost some ships, end of story.
Edit: You will deny it, lets just leave it like that.
Hey any potential customers:
High sec systems is 5% of the entire game like the starter noob zone in World Of Warcraft is 5% of the Continent, if you stay there, it would be the equivalent of only staying in the WOW starting zone and never leaving. So essentially the griefers are saying that they wanna grief, they wanna game for griefers, and they don't want anyone telling the noobs that this game is designed for griefers.
I didn't know that in WoW you could blow up someone's equipment and make them lose it. EVE has a real PvP system, not player enabled killing in a PvE game.
Yet people (social degenerates) still get their kicks off ganking lowbies in WOW. Without getting anything out of it. No experience, no equipment, no money.
But Eve, whoah, the social degenerates can get something out of ganking lowbies. Oh goody for them.
Then by all means telkl us about your unexploitable bounty system oh Wise one
How long has the 'transferable kill rights' idea been floating around in your forums?
Brainstorm yourself, im not going to brainstorm for a community of gankers. This is different then UO, where most of the customers were virgins. Here in eve, all the wierdo gankers have coalesced. This community is the worse. Im not going to brainstorm for you, and I have no time or emotion invested in your game.
PvP in EVE is getting the best guns, clicking your optimal range, clicking all your guns and sitting. I hit Keep At Range then click all my modules, then simply go watch TV. I come back and I've either killed him before he killed me, or the other way around. It's simple as that. Whoever dies first in the empty, boring space they call EVE Online.
You may have played EVE, but its clear you never understood how to fight well in it......

I would have to disagree with OP. Im not going to read 7 pages of replys but I been playing EVE for 2 years. Tho, i only play very little of it. Most of the time is spent on training skills.
Im also playing WoW since beta. WoW pvp has rewards, has no huge loses like EVE. I pvp in WoW with friends, guild and arena and its tons of fun, even when you lose.
In Eve, I was doing mission in low sector and bam, gang of 5 people jump into my mission space, while NPC are attacking me, they take my ship shields and armor down and im left with hull only, ofcourse they are warp and target jamming me. And than they send me tell asking for 90 million.
It happened to me few times in different sectors. Loss was huge..Losing ship, module or alot of ransom money. Sure insurance covers the cost of ship, but no modules and insurance it self cost 30million for 90 million ship.
Just by this, pvp turned me off in EVE, it pissed me off too, since you cant run away and cant fight back vs pvp ship and they are usually in group. No way in hell, losing is fun in EVE. In WoW, it means other players are better skilled/geared and its ok since you get practice out of it and next time you maybe able to beat same players.
Only reason i liked EVE when i started playing was different ships, missions and so on, but it gets boring fast. It's worse for lvl 4 mission running in caldari space..with mass lag. I have account active and just traning skills, but everytime i log on, i lose interest in it..i will prolly cancel it soon. With Jumpgate evolution coming out, it will be good change.

WRONG. In world of warcraft you dont have to stay in the starter zone because even if you die you lose NOTHING. there is no CONSEQUENCE to pvp in World of Warcraft. In Eve you MUST stay in a high sec system until you are prepared to take on low security systems! If you dont stay in the safe zones in EVE until you are sufficiently prepared you will get demolished (your case.) Please! Learn how to play the game before you start complaining about it!
You are also wrong in saying that high sec zones are 5% of the game! For all those who have never played before there are 10 security zone ratings, 0.0 being the lowest, 0.5 being the middle, 1.0 being the highest. There is security in .5 and above, which is half the game. Of course, the lower the security rating the lower the security, but if you try 'ganking' in above .5, security will most likely take you down before you can get out of the system.
Nerf was in dangerous territory and he was a foolish player, and got killed for it. Its not our fault. As long as you stay in .5 and above 95% of the time you will not be harmed! In zones rated .5 and above, you can teach yourself combat, train, earn money, and outfit your ship for pvp combat. You dont simply start the game and run into pvp. Come on nerf stop complaining.
The first character I made was on WOW on a PVP server. Got all the way up to level 40 with a mage, so I decided to go gank someone. I spent about 30 minutes looking for someone to gank, and ganked a level 30 player. Not only did I feel guilty about it, I felt like it was cutting into my grind-time just looking for him. So right after that, and some crying emotes, I rerolled on a Carebear server.
I thought this game would be different. Pirates and Bounty Hunters, corp-wars, PvP to defend territory from intruding miners. But it turned out to be no different then a WOW PvP server.

Phfft, at least they asked for ransom money (roleplaying pirates), the 2 times I was ganked, they just did it randomly for kicks.

Well thats no suprise as over 50% of eve's population have caldari charecter and over 50% of everyone flys ravens for missions also if youy studdy the map you will see that over 50% of everyone is in caldari space....Why?
Because the easiest missions in a raven are in caldari space.
So lesson to learn from here is do your missions somewhere else like in Mimitar or amarr space.

I tried Eve, I liked it, but the lack of a new server for a fresh start for new players is its downfall. Yah. Yah. I know that this is the unique feature in EVE... bah... Well maybe if they made another server... it would fix the lag issues and they might get some business from all these people searching for a fresh start in a new game.
Hopefully, when the graphics get revamped to Directx 10 next year they will come out with a new server. So people who wish to start out fresh and newbs to the game can get a start out where they don't feel that they will never catch up with other players.
For a noob, to want to start the game and try to be a viable player. It requires about 4-5 months before you even can think about doing anything (exciting) in this game due to the way the skills train. The fact that i have been told in a previous thread that it will only take me 6-9 months to get to a decent battleship, 6-9 months is insane. Makes me not even want to try to progress in the game. There is no way to catch up.
World of Warcraft is very attractive because if you want, you can level to 70 in about 1 month (hardcore) and/or 2-3 months casual. And you can experience all the content available.
But with EVE, to go into a low security zone in a newbie frigate is suicide.
I don't have the will power to play Eve for 6-9 months just to get to the "end game content"... aka 0.0 security zones to pvp (exciting parts of the game). The skill system is very frustrating when you would like to play but you have to wait 7 days 14 hrs 55 minutes 33 seconds for one skill to train and you can't even go on an alt and mine because you can't train skills on multiple characters at the same time.
Eve is a good game, its just with one server... I believe its pointless to try to catch up.. Hell in 6-9 months when I finally get my battleship... the game could just become vaporware (doubtful... but possible)
ok , i played both for over 2 years, and its like this
eve, good pvp, nice graphics, if you like space, skill training, long , but can be done of line, ecomemy is very good, missions i found got a bit boring, and mining, well i,ll say no more, you realy need to be in a good corp, thats in a big alliance, it has a lot to offer new player, vets, might find it getting boring,
wow, also good pvp, good graphics, cell shaded though, skills and training very easy, and fast ,crafting is ok, if thats you thing, quests, can be fun, and istances ,can be more fun,, need to be in a good guild, for the later instances, has a lot ot offer also,
now as for the 2 games, i though wow was better, the player base, maybe a bit younger, but its more aimed at the younger market than eve, and the hard core fanbois, spoil it a bit in eve, , eve had its best time, when it first come out, now its , my mods are better than you mods,
flame away, but when i started eve, within one month we was taking on biomass, in jan, you did,t need t2,
blackbirds and carcels with a few mods, could get you in the thick of it, and mining was more rewarding then,
wow has stayed around the same, to me, eve has evolved, which is making it, vets only,
but the real winner for me is wow, and for this reson only, as i said i like them both, but and this is all, eve is laggy, not just laggy , real laggy, big fights your going to lose that ship, before you even got of the loading screen,i have an high end pc, and good connection, and i realy got it bad in real big fights, and of what i read they still aint got it right,
but all in all 2 very good games, both worth there subs and playing time,
if you want fair , good fantasy games pvp, i would say at the mo, guild wars is the best,

lol see I dont understand, I hear alot of 'Eve is so laggy' but I have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop from 2004 and its crap. I could throw a CD at a tree and it would run the CD better than my crap computer. I honestly didnt lag in Eve, and if I did it was only when there was mass amounts (and by mass, I mean ALOT, which was rare) of people in one area. Just turn your settings down a little bit and you shouldnt lag.
Ok just throwing this out there I couldnt get past the 3rd paragraph, learn how to use commas dude lol. Even if your period key doesnt work, cut back on the commas lol

To you any anyone else that think you can catch up to a vet in WoW within a year is either straight up lying or the luckiest bastard I have ever met. Go ahead and waltz into a battleground as a newly reached 70 and watch how successful you are against the people who have been raiding/pvping for the past 6 months with thier top level raid/arena/pvp gear. the only time you really have a chance to catch up in WoW is when they release a new server(at least till characters are allowed to transfer to it, ah the good old days of was it the Nax? event being started on servers less then a day old) or when they release a new expansion pac and make everything you did for the past 6-12 months worthless. So lets no go there shall we.
As for a new server in EVE, God would i love that... people bitching as corps transfer over experienced characters knowing the eaxct skils required to handle things right would end up with the eact same power blocks because in EVE, knowledge of how the game works is more valuable then SP after about your first month. thats something that a new server will never help you with.
The reason that most people get frustrated with EVE coming from WoW is that they try and play it like WoW. If you were in a system getting ransomed by pirates that means low or null sec. Where was your corp or alliance? EVE is not Wow where you onyl really need a guild once you hit lvl cap, You need to find one soon and you need to work with it. if your out running missions in low sec near my corp/alliance most pirates won't bother you because we'll have 20 ships inbound as soon as they show up trying to kill you. Even younger players can do a lot in the game but it requires a corp from the start. It also ky that your willing to listen to vets, just got someone from Wow who was talking about how good he's is at MMOs top raiding guilds and all that bullshit. Losses more ships then I care to count because of the same stupid reason. Just won't listen to anyone else, which kinda of sounds like the OP and some ofthe other people in this thread. You want to start doing some fun stuff in EVE it takes about 1 week of skill training and less then 2 hours of basic instructions.small to mid size gang warfare is still alive and can be a lot of fun taking down older players.

When your post is so terribly put together that it becomes difficult to read, I really doubt anyone -cares- what the content in it is. Has nothing to do with what he's interested in reading out of your post. I read up to about the same point and gave up because I didn't want to have to edit your entire post in my mind while I read it for it to make any sense.
Ok I have played both games and here's my input, it takes skill to pvp in any game, and yes in WoW too, if you played WoW and pvped you would know this and I dont need to sit here and explain how it works. I agree that theres no penalty for dying in pvp in WoW and that doesn't make it so you dont need skill to pvp and shine in WoW ok?
Now if you have good gear in WoW you have more of a chance at winning but skill still plays a role, for example I was pvping with my frost mage who just got 70 a coupple of weeks ago, I have 2 epics and the rest is normal easy obtainable gear, I was able to kill a few players who had far more superior gear, and even though warriors are cake with frost mages I have been killed by skilled players who use the right abilities at the right time. When you say it takes no skill to pvp in wow all you are doing is making your self look uninformed and simply talking out of your ass out of hate or sheer stupidity.
In EvE pvp is risky and you can loose what you once had and was great (I know the EvE players love this and I do too), the idea of something being at steak may make you a better player and try harder of that there is no question. Simply the determining factors of a winning battle in EvE are Time the account was made, that is all, if you make a new account now theres no way in hell you will beat a veteran player because in EvE you don't learn the skill through experience and fighting or time put but all you gotta do is buy the books learn the skills and thats it, and since it takes time to learn these skills and wether you are a hardcore grinder or not it doesnt matter (you may make more money but wont gain xp) so the older player will always will have more skills learned than you because they made their account before you did, this is a fact not a biased statement.
Last but not least EvE doesnt require more skill to pvp than WoW, and heres how fighting in EvE works, you fly you see the ship, you set your orbit around it (this requires no piloting skill at all, its all done by clicking and targeting) than fire your weapons, watch the fight begin, now you got some mods that you can use but once again to use most of the good mods you need to have learned the skills which if you read above its something you earn by time payed playing your account, where the veteran will have more skills than the person who made the account at a later time. I think that is lame, I don't want to play EvE for a year before I can stand a chance around most of the people who play to learn all the decent stuff even though still veterans have more skills than you do, at least in wow you can level a character in a month if you are hardcore or a few if you are casual and at least fight and have fun.
I like EvE I just dont like how you learn skills in it, and a piloting similar to that of SWG JTLS would be alot more skill oriented than what is out now, setting an orbit around something (knowing your weapons most effective range) doesn't require a skill, I could explain it to someone brand new and they would know how to do it but in wow you can tell someone who leveled their own toon and someone who bought it on e bay because of how they play.
That said have a good day people, this is what I have gathered on my journey in both of the games.
Don't tell me I am uninformed because I have played both games for a good ammount of time and I know what I am talking about.

Thank you!!! Its impossible to read when the grammar is so bad you have to edit every 5 words.
After this post I think I've heard everything. EVEs PvP is like WoWs PvP!!!!! yeah right.
What I see is a complete noob taking his ships to a war zone. LOL. Dude, that is like 100% chance of pwnage in EVE. Ppl are investing way too much time, money and effort to control these systems, to let you just go and mine there. OMG you are such a noob. Please uninstall the game and play tik-tak-toe instead. there is no ganking there so you will be happy.
I thought this game <EVE)> would be different. Pirates and Bounty Hunters, corp-wars, PvP to defend territory from intruding miners.
And so it is..... I just don't think you made it there.
My first 2 months in EVE were in a training corp that didn't do a whole heck of a lot of training. Besides a weekly mining op (ugh) it was really just a decent chat channel with people who could answer my questions. I did however get very good at running missions, worked my way up to buying my first Battleship (not 6-9 months, though you do need a good 4-6 months to fly a BS as good as a long term vet) and banked a ton of cash and gear. In those first two months I did no PVP, never went into lo-sec or 0.0 and never had an issue with being ganked. (though some haulers get nailed in Jita from suicide gankers0
Then I decided to join a more active, 0.0 corp. In the past 3 weeks, I've been ganked in Empire by two interceptors due to a Wardec on my alliance, had my Battleship blown out from under me due to noob mistakes on my part that left me facing a full interceptor gang and ganked yet again in my Battlecruiser by a solo ship.... because I fell asleep while playing.
But in the meantime I've helped my corp transport the materials to our home system (which has a jumpgate and POS) to set up our first base, begun training to fly Stealth bombers since my corp loves covert ops, almost managed to catch the interceptor gang that killed my BS at our newly bubbled gate (wait till next time) and am having the time of my life.
Every time I log in I have to carefully watch my 4 intel channels, and local of course. I've been mining/hauling to build up my wallet, but in a few weeks we'll be moving out on some fleet ops to wreck some revenge on some corp that have been maurading in our systems.
Everything you mentioned OP is in EVE..but you've got to give it a few months (3) and get in a good corp to really start having fun.....
EVE is a great game, if you just take the time to learn it well and play it the right way.....

Gees, speaking about "Fresh Starts," I was shocked to see that the new Freighters haul like 100 times more cargo then the biggest Hauler 2 years ago. I spent one agonizing month training that skill to be able to fly the biggest hauler in the game, 2 years ago. Now I log back on and see that the "level cap" has been raised.
The Industrial skill i the only one I got at level 5, cause it takes a fricking month to train in.
This is exactly like the Expansion to World of Warcraft, but at least in WOW, they didn't raise the level cap from 60 to 6,000, they raised it from 60 to 70.

God I hate you for making me agree with Rolling Dutch but you don't know what Grind-twink-gank means. because if you did then you would know that what you suggest is happeneing is about the stupidest thing you can do.Grind- Okay, you can grind for isk, note that you can't grind for SP so there is no grinding there Perhaps grind for officer items which is possible.
Have had some friends hit the big time killing a noob in a shuttle,
leave it at that? sure, all you do is repeat what you said with no evidence so there is no point in discussing it with you. you take a position of ignorance and lash out to avoid the fact that you were the one who failed to play the game.
as such you are simply a troll as you don't want anything to do with game and you are comming here to get a rise with no intention of learning or adjusting your opinion.
But Eve, whoah, the social degenerates can get something out of ganking lowbies. Oh goody for them.

Hell in 6-9 months when I finally get my battleship... the game could just become vaporware (doubtful... but possible)
ok , i played both for over 2 years, and its like this
eve, good pvp, nice graphics, if you like space, skill training, long , but can be done of line, ecomemy is very good, missions i found got a bit boring, and mining, well i,ll say no more, you realy need to be in a good corp, thats in a big alliance, it has a lot to offer new player, vets, might find it getting boring,
wow, also good pvp, good graphics, cell shaded though, skills and training very easy, and fast ,crafting is ok, if thats you thing, quests, can be fun, and istances ,can be more fun,, need to be in a good guild, for the later instances, has a lot ot offer also,
now as for the 2 games, i though wow was better, the player base, maybe a bit younger, but its more aimed at the younger market than eve, and the hard core fanbois, spoil it a bit in eve, , eve had its best time, when it first come out, now its , my mods are better than you mods,
flame away, but when i started eve, within one month we was taking on biomass, in jan, you did,t need t2,
blackbirds and carcels with a few mods, could get you in the thick of it, and mining was more rewarding then,
wow has stayed around the same, to me, eve has evolved, which is making it, vets only,
but the real winner for me is wow, and for this reson only, as i said i like them both, but and this is all, eve is laggy, not just laggy , real laggy, big fights your going to lose that ship, before you even got of the loading screen,i have an high end pc, and good connection, and i realy got it bad in real big fights, and of what i read they still aint got it right,
but all in all 2 very good games, both worth there subs and playing time,
if you want fair , good fantasy games pvp, i would say at the mo, guild wars is the best,
Will never happen

Ok just throwing this out there I couldnt get past the 3rd paragraph, learn how to use commas dude lol. Even if your period key doesnt work, cut back on the commas lol
