I can't believe they even dared to try the p2p model after what happened with Archlord lol.

Excellent news, im glad they jumped clear before making the same mistake CM did with Archlord.

I actually put 5.00 down on a pre-order for this game but never picked it up after I couldn't get the beta to work......I hope they give the folks who paid 20.00 some sort of freebies in the store or something.....

Yeah apparently they are giving somthing of equal value from the cash shop etc. I think Refunds should also be available to. Who knows.

K2 Networks like kicking its paying fanbase in the face, many many times. It totally didn't surprise me since this is what they typically do. Like how they were late in releasing pre-orders 1 whole week, yet still had online orders that were a better deal then the pre-order.
It sucks, but its K2. What sucks most are people who bought several months in advance.
I believe free is about the right price for this game. It's not worth paying for IMO. They probably did this because there weren't enough people playing the game.

I could tell 2 minutes after logging into the beta when I saw that they had that wretched point-and-click system Koreans seem to think is the ultimate expression of a gaming control system. Resulted in such wonderful beta-testing moments like struggling with the camera to go up some freaking stairs.
Posted my comments on the beta boards and had bunch of people telling me it was no big deal, the game was great the way it was, no need to change it. Yeah sure the game was fine as it was. Look how successful it's turned out.
It's the same problem Auto Assault had, if your game engine makes something as incredibly basic as movement annoying then you need to wipe it out and start over.
Or make your game Free to play.
The real problem with the game is that they are competing with other localization companies that offer a better service and better game. C'mon $2 for some crap item that only lasts 10 minutes, their cash shop is a joke. That in mind they aren't really in a position to go f2p. They don't have a good well planned out cash shop. In addition to this the tweaks they made to the game were insanely stupid, like your clothing doesn't change appearance. The only way to do it was to do high level raiding or get it in a bellum box by low percent. Ontop of this they made you pay a monthly rate, but didn't increase exp rates. Its actually worse then other variations of this game. The other localized companies are smart enough to realize that the grind is a pain and offer a subscription that increases exp rates to make the grind acceptable.
This games problem is simple. It's being run by K2Networks, not a competent company. Too bad HanbitSoft can't relocalize in the US until the contract with K2 is over. The worst part is K2 is not even going to keep up to date and will be a year or 2 behind the other versions of this game.
The point and click actually makes sense in the game because its suppose to play more like Diablo or an RTS and not like a traditional mmo. There is very rarely stairs in this game and the ones you typically climb are wide enough not to be a problem. A WASD setup actually would be idiotic with a setup of multi-player control. Just look at Never Winter Nights 2, its WASD and camera controls where a complete pain to work with you would end up getting into an orthographic view and going point and click. On top of this the programming involved with net coding and controlling multiple characters would cost too much for any game to realistically accomplish. This games budget was the highest of any mmo to date. They weren't able to allocate funds to deal with a different control setup. Also WASD would completely mess with the smoothness of the game play, and low system specs.

The fact Ragnarok Online, Lineage and Lineage 2 have been successfull for many years now with a pay to play system proves your wrong.The only way you could possibly be having trouble with the camera is if you put the camera right behind your character, which was a mistake on your part. this is not a WASD game, you don't put the camera directly behind your characters.
thats just rediculous. I personally favor the change in appearence. Some of the equipment in GE is just plain horrible, ever seen the equipment of the male elementalist at lower level? Disgusting. In other versions of Granado Espada, at some point, everyone is going to look exactly the same because everyone will be wearing the same equipment. this is something that will never happen in SotNW.
Another improvement is that in the K2 network version, you don't have to press the space bar every 5 seconds because you just happened to move to another spot or clicked on a specific target.
And thank god they didn't increase the XP rate, it already takes less then 2 months to reach the cap level.
The K2 network version is definition superior to the other english versions.
I bet they are ectastic to get another freeloading customer.
Hey its not my fault they decided to make it F2P because they obviously didnt get the subs they thought they would. So im sure they will be happy about every player they game. I dont see how playing a game that is being offered for free makes me a freeloader, iv played pretty much every P2P game around at some point and iv spent alot of cash on MMORPGs in general, so i am most definatly not a freeloader.
