Could you please explain more? cause if thats true this might turn out to be one of the best mmos ever. Is the Combat system any different from lets say RF or Lineage? how is it different and how is it like?

i did watch the trailers. this game seems to at least bring some exciting exploration and dynamic adventuring, it seemed to include moments like climbing and jumping

The graphics? Like L2's? Dude, L2 was made on the Unreal Engine 2 (.5?). Aion is based on the FarCry engine (CryENGINE 1, not the DX10-based CryENGINE 2). There's a pretty big difference between the two, mainly draw distance. In Unreal Tournament 2003/4 fog was often on to obscure parts of the map so the engine wouldn't have to draw them and tax the system. FarCry is different. It manages to draw everything out to maximum distance quite easily even on a machine from four years ago (Athlon 64 3200+ and 6600GT on my buddie's machine runs FarCry just fine on pretty high settings).

Expect more from Aion than you did from L2. That's all.

I was thinking design-wise, not thechnically

its pretty visible that Aion has better graphics, what are you on about?

Graphic wise, it does remind of Lineage 2. noone can deny that. but  thats also why i like it

I guess that's a little true, but L2 was a little bit more Tolkien -influenced and "believable" while Aion is more high, high fantasy: dreamlike if you will. Completely impossible, completely (floating rocks, wtf), but still "realistic" (unlike WoW, which is impossible and unrealistic in its character design, or any design for that matter). People look like people for the most part in Aion and L2, with decent enough proportions (except those female chests, lol). Swords might be possible, shields might be possible, armor might be possible.

Hmmm...Asian Grind Fest. Sounds like a Chinatown strip club!

The chests seem to be kind of scaled down in Aion though... ;I) more like the elves than the dark elves of l2!

And this is a good thing.

Of course your going to have to grind for hours on end, thats how all MMO's are.  I mean there will be boss raids etc. for awesome experience.  I do not know anything at all really about AION but if its like any other "great" MMO then your gonna have to put a lot of time into it if you want to be good.....thats my opinion.  And personally I don't mind the grinding, because if I wanna keep up with everyone else, you just have to do it and it also helps you get a feel for your character.

Well Its great that you ask,

But please try searching for the answer before you ask, There are other threads that contain this information,

    Thanks!

I'm new at this site but Aion looks fantastic and i just wanna say that i think that this game would be trash if it has like "Zones" like guild wars does it have "Zones"? And will there be mounts? Do u think NCsoft realized their mistake to make grind-games? Can u attack other enemy players anywhere anytime? Are there few armor-sets like in GW? i have only seen angel-vids, aren't there any demons playable? there MUST be demons playable, right? i hope NCsoft takes lots of times to fix bugs.

Aion is TRASH if it has zones(as i said), My favorite profession will be Assassin and the most boring will be the knight (the tank class). remember that there are two kinds of every profession style. there are 2 warrior, mage, cleric and scout classes! (i edited cuz of the next reply...)

Your probably right about it being trash if it has zones but don't jump to conclusions right away with there being so little of info out about it.  Grinding is what makes MMO's so im pretty sure your going to have to put time into your character.  Thats just how MMO's are.  And of course there will be playable demon races lol theres only 2 playable factions i believe....chosen and the fallen.  So I wouldnt be to worried about this game being trash because its taken so long to make.

And Im sure theyre making the classes better and more enjoyable because in L2 the tank class was not too much fun to play, but they should be making different melee classes.

Aion is not Guild Wars, so don't worry about total instancing. I read somewhere that there will be a *clear* focus on a persistant world.

And making a heavy grind title such as L2 wasn't a mistake. It's one of the world's largest MMO's even today. Aion is not such a game, though. They're different. Just as Intel make both cheap, low-end CPU's aswell as extreme editions, so do NCsoft make different kinds of games. Bad analogy, but I hope you understand. M)

I don't really know why, but alot of ppl tend to hate on anime'ish looking characters. I think the more anime'ish,

(so long as itz not super deformed), the better the characters look. They have more expression and personality. I hate

the American and European character models. Lifeless looking and on some, kind of downsyndrom'ish. But in any case, it'll be interesting to see how this one fairs in the future.

This will not be a grind-fest.. It'll have alot of quests, and be story driven. Tons of exploration, as well...

I have to agree to some extent. But games like this and L2, while having a bit of an anime-ish feel to the character designs, seem more realistic looking at the same time. The proportions of the body are very believable, and even though most, if not all the characters faces look like attractive models (which I understand you don't tend to see on a regular basis in real life), they are still very life like. I'm a big fan of more accurate and proportional characters. Not all, but some western games tend to make like big, bulky looking characters, which isn't bad or anything, but if you brought one of the characters from Aion into real life, they would look like an attractive person, while if you did the same with a toon from one of those western games, they would look like a gorilla with less hair or something.

i have to agree about the American and European character models. they seem so unimaginative and bland. i have yet to see any western developer make anything close to the stunning beauty and coolness of the anime inspired models, especially the ones from L2, those were amazing. all the western models ive seen are just dull in comparison.
