They wanted to replace SWG playerbase but the subscription numbers are now worser then PRE CU.
After 2 Years off mismanagement the time has now come for some serious action.
LA has to pull back IP from this loser Company ! to prevent SWG idea becoming a joke and in regards to quality standarts of MMO gaming industry.

yes..SOE coded it...but LA approved it.
management always has the final decision...so the fault lies more with LA than SOE. Do you blame the people under you if a shoddy product is not properly QA/QC? No.

At this point it's a dead issue, in many ways, I'm back playing because even with the NGE SWG is still better than a lot of stuff out there. Lent it go and and either except it or move on.
Yes, it does. It is hidden behind a crapload of WoW 'inspired' (blatantly ripped off) systems, but it is still there.
If by "a lot of stuff out there" you mean "hitting yourself in the head with a hammer", well, you still might be wrong. I'm not willing to hit myself with a hammer to find out, but I'm also not going to subject myself to the steaming pile that is the current version of SWG. The current game is just horrible.
The NGE my friends is starting to look like Michael Jackson.

Ah well at least they are now just announcing that they plan on having crap games from the get go, rather than just 're-vamp' it into crap years after it's out. Guess they did learn something from the NGE

SOE should revamp the game around the current mechanics. Add a little complexity to the fighting system, but completely (!!) update the graphics for anno 2007. Revive this game! Add all the stuff that was before like camps, GCW needs to make sense, add tons of creatures, campaigns, missions. Spend some serious dough and make this game great.
It has huge potential..
Dammit... hire me SOE and give me creative freedom and a shiitload of money for development and I shall turn this ship around..

Really, Swg is not a steaming pile of crap. As it stands today it is as good as many of the new games being released. I came back gave it a try and left. not because it's a bad game, but because the changes still do not offer me what I enjoyed in the old game. I still do not like the new bm update. It fell short of what I enjoyed in being a bm . But then again I think wow, lotr and all the other new releases are boring too.
Yup, soe stepped on their little tallywacker in swg. but thats on them , I voiced my opinion after they started the stupid profession changes to unlock jedi. I TOOK MY MONEY ELSEWHERE. I still read and post cause I can, I'm a vet and I've tried the new swg. And it's funny reading some of this stuff on a game thats in the history books now.
Elvis is dead and from the looks of the new stuff coming out so is open ended gaming. Swg was only the 1st to fall in line with wow, give the new generation of gamers what they want. Mindless, easy , can't screw it up game play.
Actually SWG IS a steaming pile of crap. Go play CoH/CoV or WoW, or look at AoC or WAR, there is NO WAY SWG can compare to those games, it isn't even close. Look how EVE is killing SWG in every aspect.
Then look at games still being developed like Infinity.
SWG is a fossil compared to these games and the base mechanics, the forumulation of the game is so screwed that it would be easier for SOE to pull the plug then attempt to upgrade the game graphically and mechanically to compete.
Not to mention that little project Bioware is working on... SWG has some time left to fade away, but the sun is surely setting.

That viewpoint can be debated between the former and the new swg. but it's a hard one to defend when compared to other games
A certain game in Beta buries the nge. I actually enjoy it's combat MUCH better than the nge and at face value it is very similar.
Just shows what you can do with compitant programmers and managers, and not the chimps at $OE.

I have to respectfully disagree. If you play WoW THEN go play SWG, you can see how much BETTER one game is mechanically than the other. You just don't have the poor gameplay in WoW that you do with SWG. Same with some of the other MMO's. I do however agree that they are ALL THE SAME, including SWG (now).
But SWG doesn't run as smoothly as most of the ones that I have played.
Age of Conan?
