well i like to keep it basic, and you cant get more basic than that dwarven nation. I am still going to go with what my guild mates decide and our decision will be based on whats the biggest underdog is what we will play. but so far it looks like i am leaning towards a dwarven runepriest with lots and lots of ironbreakers (4) and (2) warrior priest helpers.
I can't choose yet. It is still a toss up between a Chaos Marauder and a Witch Hunter. Two different playing styles, but they both look like great fun. One has a sick hat and the other a grisly mutant-arm thingy.
my problem excactly! i think im leaning towards Witch Hunters now though because how cool would it be to sneak up behind a chaos magus or something and shoot him point-blank in the back of the head then impale him with your annointed stake while macroing "The power of christ compells you!!!!!!" then when he dies you pull down the brim on your badass hat then blow the smoke off the tip of your pistol.i dont mind being outnumbered on the order side, makes for better RPing anyway

Well, to be fair, High Elves attract people who want to be tree hugging pansy Legolas wanna-bes. While Dark Elves do attract horny people they also attract people whose mind stay on a path such as "omg 3lves wit DARK n DER NAME!!!11 dats KOOL!!11 Der r sooooo 3v1l n k00l lokin!!!!!!!!111". Thats the primary reason Dark Elves are going to be the most popular. And most people who have such a mind track usually don't understand that if a side is overwhelmed, they need to join the least popular side. It should be interesting to see how they balance this.
Oh and by the way, this is completely off-topic, but here is some bad news (for those who want to believe what I say). For any hardcore DAoC PvPers that are expecting DAoC PvP quality, I have to say that I feel bad for you. I am one of those people, and when I saw the game I was crushed. The UI is a complete and utter duplicate of Lotro's (which is a duplicate of WoW), and the fighting is almost an exact replica of WoW. The gameplay isn't even CLOSE to DAoC... I understand that last paragraph is completely off topic, but im not going to make a thread about it and explain everything I witnessed.
I keep seeing people reference DAoC pvp as setting the pvp standard for mmorpg's. I've never played it, but even my brother has commented on DAoC pvp...
So what am I missing? What specifically is in DAoC pvp that isn't in this game? Not that I'm replying to an off-topic comment or anything......
And upon seeing the poll results, my main will definitely be Order. I was on the fence before, but underdog victories are always the sweetest.
Well this is what is amazingly ironic. Despite DAoC being known for having the best PvP in an MMO, NOBODY has tried to copy them. People said that it set the PvP standard for MMOs, and it did. However, nobody ever even attempted to beat it PvP wise. And even more ironic, not even the very creators of DAoC (Mythic) are copying it with Warhammer Online. This is pretty much why im pissed.
I went over the classes a bit more and decided on the Empire. Normally I try not to be the human class, since in my opinion they are boring. However the classes for the Empire look like a TON of fun to play.
We have Bright Wizards, Warrior Priest, Witch Hunter and Knight of the Blazing Sun. Personally it is a toss up of Bright Wizard (if you've played a Fire Blaster on CoH they sound like one of those) or Knights of the Blazing Sun (gotta love the feathers).
I'm sure everyone will be playing classes/races they like in the beginning, but after that big part of those people will move to classes that rock. It's very predictable, like in other games. In WoW Beta a lot of people played Warlocks, in a few monthes after release warlocks were rare class to see since players thought they are gimps or useless. Same was in Daoc, everyone played Blademasters on Hib side till they realized BMs were gimps compared to other melee classes. Obviously it will be like that or maybe I'm wrong, but no one wants to suck the juice.
So poll shows nothing right now.

And yeah, DAoC has the best pvp (rvr). If you have great pvp skill and know how to play you can win fights like 8 vs 16 or even more. Other games can't allow you to win fights like this just because you have good gaming skills.
This is only one of many good pvp aspects of this game.

Well thats somewhat true, the only game I know of that bases what you have mainly on skill and less on items is Guild Wars. Yes items and runes make a difference but its mainly how you allocate your skills.
As for what class I'll be playing? I won't deny that Greenskins and Chaos are probably my favorite (While Dark Elves seem "cool", I think too many will be playing them). The human classes don't really attract me that much. And the dwarfs are just ugly . So if I decide to go with the side of order I'll probably play High elf, just waiting to see what those last 2 career options are before I make my choice.

Dwarf or greenskin are joint first right now with Empire and Chaos joint second. It all comes down to which class I end up enjoying the most, I'm not one of those people that likes to play the flavour of the month build.
Greenskins!!!! Squig herder looks like a ton of fun. I have a feeling they are going to be semi-gimp RvR wise in the beginning though(seems more PVEish ).

Well for me , if i don't get hooked (pardon the pun) on Pirates of the burning sea , and i play Warhammer i will almost certanly play a black orc , after seeing pauls pod cast video of the black orc in his armor i can't see myself playing anything else, i was almost certainly going to play one anyway , but seeing the armor made it 100%
I think chaos is going to need some nerfage with the near 50% population advantage it looks like it's going to have over empire >_>
Its a bit early to call for a Nerfbat isn't it? I also find it slightly ignorant because you're asking for a nerf based on a classes race? What exactly are you looking to nerf? lol
Keep to the lore of Warhammer, as with most MMOs the 'good' or pretty races will outnumber the evil ones. Especially the game with those darn elves in it, once again the 'good' classes will be many in number and will make for a target rich environment.
I could not decide between orc and dwarf... but now im about 100% sure I will play orc. Tthe orcs are just awsome so I will be rolling a black orc! They are just huge and covered with spikes and armor I mean their just plainly amazing. I want to tank and well IMO they have the coolest.

Well this is what is amazingly ironic. Despite DAoC being known for having the best PvP in an MMO, NOBODY has tried to copy them. People said that it set the PvP standard for MMOs, and it did. However, nobody ever even attempted to beat it PvP wise. And even more ironic, not even the very creators of DAoC (Mythic) are copying it with Warhammer Online. This is pretty much why im pissed.
