I couldn't find a link to their job opening. I am a writer for a couple of other sites so I figured I would maybe give it a look. No luck though on finding it.

The fires in Greece were and still are terrible, there were days where it rained ash and the sky was black from the smoke. One of the fires stopped a block away from my house before it changed direction, and I came home to about a foot of ash everywhere and a scorched environment. Thanks go out to all those who where concerned, or sent messages of support, or to ask if we're OK.
I will differentiate a little bit from the rest of you with this #13 update and focus in this excerpt.
Since I too, live in Greece, I would like to give the reality, excluding the drama and particularly broken images from -maybe- the Hiroshima A bomb.
Yes the fires were terrible, undeniably. People lost their houses, we had a number of fatalities for the FIRST time in our history -in such large volume- but this is where reality ends. From there on we have the Hiroshima effect :
1. There has simply NOT rained ANYWHERE in Greece this summer as of yet, and particularly it couldnt rain when we had our extremely hot weather waves (temperatures in excess of 40 degrees centigrade)
2. Since there was NO rain, there was also no rained ash as well. Of course we did have some ash which is normal after so huge fire fronts, however,
3. Claims about a foot of ash are simple exagerations like the upcoming beta of DF more or less... Ash is not snow to accumulate like this , but it seems just another pic from some Hiroshima documentory
Someone's imagination goes beyond fantasy it seems...

1. They are not talksing about precipitation. Their talking about ash falling from the sky.
2. You dont need rain to have ash fall from the sky.
" With not much left of the forests around Athens, thick black ash raining down around the area of the Greek Parliament, and fire-fighting planes soaring over the Acropolis, Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis united the Greek people with his statement late afternoon on August 25." -http://www.neurope.eu/view_news.php?id=76941
3. Also his house wasnt to far from the fire "One of the fires stopped a block away from my house before it changed direction..." Being so close to the fire there could very well be that amount of ash.
Someone's reading and science skills need work on....

What are you doing ddev ?? Are you such a disbeliver that you even have to disbelive the tragedy of your own country ? Checking every word for potential faults in a horrid situation ? I'm sad for Greece and I am sad for you trying to use a tragedy to prove a point in a game discussion

This project is doomed. Someone just forgot to let them (and all the foolish people who actually still believe in it) know that.
It makes absolutely no sense at all to try and get this project to pay to play status anymore. Because no one is going to play it. Well correction - not enough will play it to actually make any kind of profit. There are lots of FREE mmorpg games out right now that are much higher quality then Darkfall looks to be. ArchLord for one. Who the hell is going to PAY to play an outdated Shadowbane rip off (shadowbane is free too) when theres lots of free mmo's out there along the same lines at higher quality.
I think I am gonna go start a website for a new mmorpg game , load it with all the best features I can think of , then just release a few screenshots every 6 months and figure out how to make money off of the traffic it generates somehow. Because if this Darkfall project has proven anything , its proven that could be done..
their website doesnt even mention anything about darkfall anymore. Instead now they're working on some "revolutionary technology platform". Guess that will make its debut in 20 years or so.

Cool!
This must one of the best forum trolls i have ever seen.
Sarcasm, a good pooint and a punchline
You dont see that everyday here. If she would write something good instead, it would be awesome.
"the features they promised are already in >.> so wtf are you talking about"
Now that is about the funniest quote I have seen in this thread. Pretty hard to know what features are in the game when NO one has even seen it. They have not even demo'd it in any of the shows!
Making ridiculous statements does not do much for your credibility.
It remains to be seen if this game will be better than Shadowbane, it is not that much different. Hopefully taking their time will avoid the plague of bugs that doomed Shadowbane. I do think a game like this can succeed in the market if it is done right.
As to the Greek fires, yes they are no fun, but I watched the fires in San Diego several years ago which destroyed well over 600 homes, and while ash does fall from the sky, an inch is even questionable let alone a foot. To say the writer exaggerated alot is an understatement. Sorry the greeks had to wake up to the reality most people in the West experience every summer.

They have said that the game is almost feature complete.
They have demo'd it just not to any shows only to publishers and investors.
While his post isnt completely correct it isnt completely wrong. Seeing as you didnt know this i'd say that you would be the one making ridiculous statements.
Well only time will tell wont it?
Are you completely idiotic? MAJORITY OF THE COUNTRY WAS ABLAZE. This wasnt just one fire in a small area. It was an arson attack on many areas. This was a large fire a VERY large fire and now coupled with the fact that the fire was only a block before it changed direction it is possible to have that much ash.

I have to agree that if nobody wants to publish this game, then it probably isn't very good.
