Because when I started playing the game in June 03...useing the ORIGINAL guide book none of those stories were written yet.

And besides, how would you like to remove those tubes 'down there' just to go have a beer?  ouchie.

Well i do twice a day as i have to Dialise every day twice a day so i guess when something becomes nessasary it becomes nothing at all  [shrugs]. Oh also i belive you dont have tubes 'Down There' as the nutrient Goo you float in takes care of that.

Dont forget the many stories written for E-ON magazine that depict pod pilots getting out of their pods and leaving their ships.  One story even describes what its like getting out of your pod... apparently its not an all to pleasant feeling.

    You should note one thing:

    http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=504

They want to include some nifty spiffy tactical map for corps and Alliance, that will most likely add some features to the normal map ingame (which is not too usefull atm).

Basically, they want to improve the map and add some features to allow the fleetcommanders to gather and discuss tactics, fleetmovements and targets on a map that is visible to EVERYONE of them. That would certainly make planning attacks and defense for alliances way better.

But you can see too that they are still in the early developement and are taking suggestions. And ambulation without that feature? I doubt it. So maybe in one year or even further in the future..

This update while super cool and something I'm looking forward to from a gameplay standpoint, really contradicts the Lore of New Eden. I suppose if they make it so your ship is unable to be moving when you are out of your capsule that'd only deviate a little from the lore, or while you were in warp. If they work it out from a story and logistics standpoint by developing some new technology like capsuleer detachment technology, then I'd be more ok with it.
Very exciting none the less, those graphics look insane.

Actually after you clone you are in a cloner outside of the capsule. You can come out of your capsule after landing. It's not instant because you need to, well, start breathing air again and purge the liquid out of your lungs. Read the entire backstory...

Read some of those and you will see why out of pod stuff isant going against the lore.

QFT you guys should read this stuff, it's all a very interesting read. Whenever you clone or clone jump you are out of the pod and have to get hooked back in.

not really a new type, the "oh no! change is evil aaaagggghhhhhhhh!!!!!" people have been around forever.

    They are called Conservatives.

I personally feel this will add to the social aspect of eve which ISANT a bad thing.

     Agreed.

Oh wait I agreed with you? Weird Huh?

Correction, it made the game NOT fun.  All I wanted to do when I got to a station was buy my stuff, talk to my next quest NPC, or hit up the crafting station, and having to run between each kiosk was a royal PITA.  I *much* prefer a single station interface where everything I want is at the touch of a button.  Funny that the interface games like EVE and Jumpgate are still going while E&B is long gone...

As i understand it you still be able to do all your buying and selling from your docked ship. This new stuff will be good for the corperation's top brass I think. Its just a bit of fluff having offices and meeting rooms, but its GOOD fluff I think.

I've been following EVE since pre-production and have had more then one account at a time.

I stopped playing before the last couple major updates, now it looks bloody amazing.  I might have to take another look at this.

Still think it's bunk that they've made it more n00b friendly.  That was one of the main reasons I enjoyed this game... it kept the immature children away.  /sigh

    Whoopee.
    Fail.

This is not a failure at all. This is a process that will introduce those factors but in a seperate way independent of current game design.  In fact this is a positive move to introduce Eve to a new class of players who want the avatar. I hope to see  ground game that doesn't follow the hack and slash of current MMORPG's even though I do enjoy that. Our adventures for now are in space. Yet a ground game with no loading screens from space to the ground would be amazing.  Over all I can't wait for the concepts to hit the game where it won't be rushed. Game design takes time.

I have to agre with you both.  Its not going to matter for awhile, but eventually they might actually make a point of walking around out of your ship......

    ==========================
The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

Getting out and walking around the stations is the first step to walking around on planets..... holding.......... a big gun!  heh

Im so excited about this, I cant wait! I enjoy social aspects in my MMOs, and feel that EvE is lacking somewhat in that department atm. Hopefully this project will fix that ^^.  This will be a great step in bringing new players into EvE as well as keeping existing players happy.

Best social patch/plan for any MMO imo.

What? Many people refer to eve as the "best looking chat application ever", and i think its damn true..

I have 10 channels open ingame..

Eve is a social game..and without socializing you will die often and quit eve. ;-)

I'm just waiting for the another reincarnation event, I have some long trainings to set.

WIS can only help EVE, unless of course  too many people stay in station because of it.

    wait for it..........

    (and it sinks in)

Yup, as in station is the only safe place, making it desirable to stay in station for longer periods will have some intresting effects. I can hear the cries on the EO boards now "WIS should only be allowed in low sec!!!"

Heck I would come back just to be able to broadcast "Sorry guy's outside the station we have a party going and everyone will be staying in base all-night- long!"

Note: this post was saterized for your protection, but I really am waiting for the next come back for 5 days email from CCP as I do need to set some skills.
