i actually enjoy playing. I would like to say this though for most of these people.
THIS IS NOT FOR THE MMORPG people who like the RPG part the most. and i think most people will agree with me on this. I myself like FPS's and MMO's and dont care to much about the RPG(i like it , just not to the degree on here do).
Its like if you Took planetside and spliced it with WoW you get this game. I enjoy mowing threw mobs, because i am shooting and there is some skill to it. I do like having the feeling of having a impact no matter how minor(fighting off bases is enjoyable and assaulting ones they have taken is to)
But if your looking for the next mmoRPG then this is not your game, if anything this game is more a MMOTPSRPG. Its a shooter with rpg elements in a massive world.
And yes i want planetside 2 , this game is prob what il play if hellgate fails(it shouldnt, but ya never no)
Not a great game. Go play it and see for yourself. They need to get a planetside 2 out the door.
Honestly, I'm not going to bother to see for myself. I've played a bunch of MMORPGs, last was beta for Vanguard, and if it's not something great I'm not going to take the trouble to download it and install it.
It seems obvious from the comments here that the game is lackluster at best, and like most of the posters here I'm an MMORPG vet, so it's gonna take something much better than average to peak my interest. I was just hoping that since it was releasing soon, it might be something fun.
Yes because it's always better to take the word of the peanut gallery rather than go download the free open beta from fileplanet (you don't even have to be a subscriber) and check it out for free yourself and form your own opinion.
Gamers are like lemmings: If one jumped off a cliff and died over half of the others would to if he gave it a good review on the way down.
Personally I'm giving the open beta a try, I didn't manage to get in on early beta so, fortunately, I don't have any baggage from then. So far I like what I've seen but it's far too soon for me to make any concrete decisions on this game. I will say t his... so far I like it better than any other recently released MMORPG. (I know, not saying a hell of a lot).

When I'm forced to install .NET 2 and then the game still won't work and it freezes, then right there I'm turned off right away. My computer's more then enough to run it too.
AMD X2 4200+

And it ran pretty nice when it ran, but the game just seemed like AutoAssault.

There's a Planetside 2 in the the unknown future??? If so, I am instantly a very happy man. Eq2 is totally experiencing its second wind (which is beyond awesome) and Vanguard despite the server merge still has all the potential in the universe [someday] but Planetside is campy, fun and mind-numbing. Ps2 would be an awesome remedy to the apparent shortcomings of Tabula Rasa (of which there are, sadly, far too many to succeed I fear).
Now (PC online): Eq2, Vanguard, Planetside, SWG Now (PC offline): Medieval Total War 2 (w/Kingdoms), Rome Total War (w/Barbarian Invasion) Now (PS2): Madden 2008, Gran Turismo 3 & 4, Star Wars Battlefront I & II Soon (PC online): Pirates of the Burning Sea, Age of Conan, Star Trek Online, (Gods & Heroes)? RIP (PC Online): EQ, EVE
I think the game will have an EQ2 like status. It's fun enough to play that it will draw some people, but it's not good enough to draw players like WoW has. I find my interest in the game wanning quickly.
Ditto, except I think it will have a status more akin to DDO, .......maybe.
It should flop, but they seem to be gambling that they can create a new market for MMO Action Games. I see little lasting appeal for MMORPG or FPS fans, but maybe there is an untapped market for Action Gamers and it will succeed based on that...
My wife loves it for the same reasons I hate it. It's simple, dumb action. I don't know how long that can hold someone's attention, but I don't think it's the flop everyone makes it out to be. Just not what most of us on this site wanted. We're a pretty jaded lot.
MMOs Played: EQ 1&2, DAoC, SWG, Planetside, WoW, GW, CoX, DDO, EVE, Vanguard, TR Playing: WAR Awaiting 40k Online and wishing for Battletech Online
I played for around 10hrs and soon became tired of the 'same old same old'. I think it's an okayish 'filler' game until the "next big thing" hits the shores but I doubt it will be a blockbuster of it's own.
this game is total garbage and ive never even played it, to call it an mmo is a disgrace to online gaming everywhere. if i hade 4 hands it would get 4 thumbs down but since i can only settle with two thumbs, it'll be the biggest flop in the last 5 years ha ha!!!!!!!!
Been playing beta for bout a month. Game has potential. At one time I was really looking forward to it. But since I have been in Beta I realize it is NOT gonna tear me away from EQ2 anytime soon and that really saddens me cause I have been really waiting for the next big "thing" and Tabula Rasa is not gonna be it .

But, looks like back to waiting on WAR.

Once they get the kinks worked out, it will have it's place on the market. I'd say something in between.

They need to remove all that solo content. mmorpg is about playing together
Think it's still hav a chance. BUt they need to make more team work options in the game.
its true that it feels to mucj like a solo game. and that can be the end of the it , if they don't change that par of the game

Flop. No doubt about it.
Not an immediate flop -- there are plenty of people who are ignorant and/or curious enough to buy the box.
Probably an eventual flop -- Several bad design decisions and not enough content to keep people happy for more than a month.
Ditto, except I think it will have a status more akin to DDO, .......maybe.

my gut feeling playing tb is that it would do really well as a consol online game given the style of its gameplay .
iv played the game...it rocks for a short period of time... flop!
