Vote for Druid's Stormcrow to be put back in!

Well not exactly disappointed....more like terribly cross. But today I heard that they replaced the travel form, it's old news I know, but I just discovered it. It seems that the awesome class-defining stormcrow was replaced by a leapord or cheetah or some crap. Maybe it woulldn't bother me so much if druid DIDN'T ALREADY HAVE A CAT FORM! ITS THE SAME DAMN MODEL ADN THEY JUST SLAPPED A DIFFERENT SKIN ON IT!!! I am SURPRISED at blizz for doing such a thing, WHY? Were the stormcrows too cool for the druids? Did they feel like welp, maybe the druids need 2 shapeshifted forms that look the exact same, they'll understand...NO. This is gonna really hurt the druid class for me, I don't care if it's trivial to care about cosmetic things like what model a shapeshift form is, but I thought that was what blizz was all about, the little details. I mean it might have been a mistake for them to totally screw druids in pvp like they already have, but when they removed a CLASS-DEFINING detail for NO REASON AT ALL and then replace it with ANOTHER FREAKIN CAT...well thats when they slipped head-on into fopa.
Say it isn't so Blizz, say that you're puttin crows back in forr launch, theres no reeeeeeeeeason for them not to be in, THEY DON'T EVEN FLY.

THEY CAN'T FLY ANYWHERE! Stormcrows hovered a short distance off the ground, about as high as a nightelf standing, and they looked awesome I might add. They can't fly anywhere, yea they can avoid some obstacles but it was just faster. It's not like they can be their own wyverns or gryphons.

Well thats good. But Im sure there is more to it in them getting rid of it. I dont think they did it out of spite. Maybe it was too laggy, or it didnt work the way they planned? Have more faith in this company.
I could really care less, since a druid will probably be the LAST on my list of classes to play.
Of course I have the utmost faith in blizzard, I'm just angry because they haven't given a reason. Alot of the druids in beta are sayin the same thing. Druids already weren't too hot in PVP and instead of gettin some dev lovin they got a slap in tha face.

Well, at least you can say Blizzard is listening. I doubt they are going to ignore it if the druid players say they really want the stormcrow to come back. Maybe they thought it was a little silly to have a bird thing flying only 10 feet off the ground, but because they didn't want it to fly everywhere, they changed it to the new cat form. It could be as simple as that. And if it is that simple, if fans speak out enough, then they will probably change it back.
EDIT: I basically just said what the post above said. Sorry about that.
We can only hope, lost. Oh and I just went out and found a list of all the druid abilities and what level and other requirements you need. Bear you get at 10, panther at 20, and you get what SHOULD be a CROW at lvl 30. Oh and aquatic form is lvl 15. This site has all the other spells and nature magic requirements too, and even how much it costs to train.

Actually, it makes more sense not to be a gimped bird form. In PvP or AvH, wouldnt it be easier to spot this odd low-flying bird on the edge of your territory than it would be to spot 'another' cat monster? Theres alot of cat shifters and mobs out there, so if you saw one you prolly wouldnt thinkg "oh look, a druid in scout form!", but you would if you saw a little birdie at head-height.
How many little low-flying birdies are there in game? How many cats? I rest my case.

It doesn't matter, I wouldn't care if I'm easily spotted when in crow form, it's still probly aLOT harder to notice than a freaking tauren. The crow is a class-defining skill, ever since WC3.

I totally agree with you on this one. I agree that a travel form in cheetah/leopard travel form is just the same with cat form. We can just hope Blizzard knows where they did wrong and put back the stormcrow travel form.

DAMMIT why would you vote no if ur not gonna play as a druid? It doesn't affect you, not even in PVP, all we would beable to do is fly circles around you. Oh sorry, I meant HOVER circles around you.

The thing we need to keep in mind is that, yes, though even in Beta WoW is nearly perfect, it's still in beta. Let's not treat it as if it were already shipped. There's a good chance that the travel form for the druid will change before release, especially if there are any beta testers who feel the same way about it. Blizzard won't release WoW until it's "just right".

This thread has really taken off.
Here's what I know about the druids travel form. It was never a storm crow, it was a vulture. Blargh.
Blizzard had that as a temp graphic for it, and they said they were going to replace it with a better graphic later. Then they just stuck in the cat form. Which made no sense, I guess it was better looking than the vulture, and the flight system for the travel form needed to be reworked.
When implimented, you could only hover above the ground, so it was basicaly like running really fast, and not go over mountains etc. I could think of a few problems that this would have brought about.
For one, this is beta and certain areas of the map are closed off, however with the flight form, even just being able to hover, you were able to get places you shouln't be. I think they just need to rework it a little and hopefuly it'll be back in. There's virtualy no one who likes the idea of 2 cat forms, the only people who don't want the druid to have back their bird form, are the people who play other classes who are worried it'll make the druid too powerful. Being able to fly over rocks and water at a slower rate than a mount travels isn't too powerful IMO. As far as the water goes, they get aquatic form, so they can already go through water faster than anyone. Just give them back their bird form I say.
I really do believe that the main reason, is the art needs to be done for it, and it's low on the priority list.

The thing is, I saw the graphics for the bird form in a video, and I don't care if it was a crow or a vulture or whatever, that thing looked AWESOME. And it beats the CRAP outta the retarded looking cats. Seriously, I was surprised with how sloppy and cartoonish the cats look. I mean I have faith in blizz but I just hope they work in better artwork for cats and I'm sure they can find a good way to fix the crow's hovering problems and whatnot.
