Been playing MMOs for years finally just got to the point of being burned out on the hack and slash. Reactivated my EVE-Online account and realized I cant play that game anymore just deactivated it again. Decided to get into Beta and try Tabula. My first night stayed on till 1 AM. Been a long time since a game had me that interested. Proabbly SWG was the only game that held my attention like that. Next day invited a buddy from work to give it a try with me and now he is hooked he stayed on past 2 AM the other night playing it. I'm not going to say this game has problems because all games do but this game has alot of potenial. I'm hoping they get it right. Will be buying it now. People don't believe the hype go into it with open mind and form your own opinion. All I can say is WOW this game Rocks!!!

keep playing it. If it doesnt start to make you realize just how shallow it is your are described in the latest article of mmowtf. Not that that is bad everyone has their style im just saying...
Yes i was enjoying TR the first time i played it, for a few hours. Come back in a few days if you still have the same opinion.
I'm saying this game is a nice change of pace. I dont know your experience but I have two characters LVL 70 in Lineage 2, Pre CU Dark Jedi in SWG, LVL 60 in EQ2. I have played a variety of hard core and casual MMOs and just like a nice change of pace. Take it as a grain of salt.
Every time I log on to the beta I laugh and ask myself what Lord Silliness was doing for six plus years and all those millions NCsoft gave him.
The game DOEs have potential. they're trying to add content to the quests, medals, radio comms, and possibly more content ot them... also the battlefields could be fun and exciting.
Problems are:
there are still too many pointless errands and too many "collect 10 fithik's balls" that have nothing but silly excuses of stories, but they have no impact on the gameworld. It's still a Wack-a-mole, i just beat a "kill spider-boss" quest, so i know what im talking about, and it's incredible that Garriott 2 years ago criticized what this game clearly has.
there's no socializing WHATsoEVER.
Shooting aliens is simply NOT fun at the momen.
This is the sad truth. Despite what biased fanboys will tell you.

I was in the beta as well. I played for a solid 6 hours the first day. Came back the next day, play for a few more hours. Next day I was already getting those fleeting tingles of boredome that I've come to know all too well in my MMO days. I figured maybe it was just my "class" so I made myself a clone and mixed things up a bit. Same stuff, different name. I didn't play it the next day. Tried it again the day after that. Let it sit for a week, and tried it again wonderinf if I had burned myself out quickly. No dice.
The game's not for me. There just isn't enough to it. But hey, if you like it, who am I to tell you otherwise? I think that if you've got the money to blow (or a friend with a guest pass) you should give every MMO that comes out a fair crack. Don't listen to blogs, mmowtfs, or your friends. Generate your own opinion.

The above post is purely my opinion. If you disagree, that's your right. However, don't be an ass about it.
I said "WOW" too.
Found it hard to believe that all the hype dished out for this game amounted to so little in substance.
This game is better than people are giving credit. There is socializing in the game if you use it and my budies and I are thoe ones getting people to the LZ's to take back a Bane base in instances all over the place. People say "well you dont get anything but some credits for completing the assault and defense quests" thats where they are wrong.
ITs all about the drops for crafting, modification and dissassembly. Its a complete new sysytem that people havent gotten up to speed on yet. The reward is what can be found, salvaged and utilized to make you a stronger force against the bane. Then you can get your quests done if you got the right equip.
You're missing the point.

You are looking to far ahead and guessing without the facts. The facts you are using are based upon the present state of the beta "sliver" presented to you. This means your judgment is not going to be correct.
I beta tested Quake Wars and did you know that the final release of the game had around 75% more content than what I was exposed to? This goes for TR. When the full version hits you will be exposed to the full complete game and not just a few zones of it. So you cannot pass judgment without out all the evidence before you.
I've been beta testing for years and I have found that within 5 days of playing a game I know whether or not the game is good or bad. Whether you like it or not this game is going to be very very popular due to the persistent sci-fi Action MMO style TR brings with crafting. Planetside was/is a great game but it failed due to bugs, now the game is fixed but too late people move on. TR does not have game breaking bugs so it will be a hit, plus its straight up fun.
TR has NO COMPETITION. That is gonna kill all the other mmos because they are still doing the same wow eq2 formula. TR is its own style and is as challenging as you make it. I have completely put my sticky slider all the way to the left so now it plays just like a fps. Imagine if they release the game like that? I b et the slider is a poll to see whats the best way to gauge how the final release is going to play...never thought about that did ya.
Bottom Line.
SCFI-ACTION-MMO-FPS, NO COMPETITION, GREAT GRAPHICS, FRESH CONCEPT, ULTIMATE POTENTIAL.
FTW

What exactly was I guessing about?
What facts am I basing what on?
My judgement is not correct in your mind.
If anything I would base my judgement on the game ui, map layout, character customization, graphics, combat, and general lasting appeal. Tabula Rasa, in my opinion, lacks in all these areas.
Didn't seem very fresh to me. Still the same 'ol grind, kill x to get y in a quasi-shooter skin.
Not a bad game, but fairly shallow IMO.
and farming mob for craft parts is new and for that matter, is it REALLY any fun to YOU ?
Well i'll be damned. Next time i'll send my grampa off to you to talk about his job as a factory worker of the 50's, I bet you'll find it most thrilling, I'll have you pay for it

please let's stop conjuecturing and phantasizing here, save imagination for your dreams, you're not Nostradamus' young brother either are you?
It's your word against mine, to me TR is not nearly any fun in its action, shooting is simply boring there's nothing you can say... and I play action games ever since bloody Archon for chrissake... before prolonging this discussion I need you to tell me how experienced a gamer are, so as to put this in its own level.
I don't even know what you mean with FPS gauges and sliders and moving to the left, i only know that i play it MMO style... at heart TR has still LOADS of elements from WoW... im sorry that you're just biased and refuse to see that.
Challenging ?? for GOD sake, where ??
So far TR is as challenging as Pac-man with invulnerability... You confirm the idea you give on being biased if You actually consider TR as challenging.
But since PERSONALLY I don't just throw crazy inferences driven by biased fanboyism I give PROOF to what I say : today I finished the quests in wilderness. after doing them all a couple of npc's started addressing me to the nearby map. THAT is exactly like wow.
So please tell me, aside from SUPERFICIAL differences (shooting with guns and taking cover) what is actually different from the previous MMO's ?
And also beside guns, WHERE is sci-fi ? So far i've seen scenarios like woods and caves... isn't that pretty much fantasy stuff ?
Bottom line:
-SHOOTING BORING
-QUESTS BORING
WoW clone.Total failure.

You know what else is REALLY wrong about the way we shoot ? That when shooting a baddie down you do NOT even see the character, you stare at the TAG with the energy/shield bars. That is IN-SANE. We shoot at labels, not characters.
I bet you never thought of that did yA ?

Im surprised you caould say that if your MMO resume is true, because there is nothing new in this game and it doesnt even do the things that SWG or AO did as well as those games did them.
Yes its new..... but so is the last turd my dog dropped.... that doesnt make it any better than the last ones.

What I see is just a WOW lovers that are afraid of this game!! Its a sci-fi MMO! Nothing to be afraid ! Go to your cave and go play your WOW! We dont care about that bullshit! This is a MMO for sci-fi fans!!
game was awful imho it isint any thing better then games ive played in past and i would play planetside before wasting money on this
Some lead and some follow I prefer to stand beside!
Owned. 52.7% wont be playing, goes to show the game sucks as a fact
52% of 59 votes. Owned? Give me a break. If you have an argument against, bring it. If not, please back away from the keyboard and let the big boys handle it.
And no, I'm not a fanboi. I dislike the game. Just tired of lame posts like that one.
I will not sit here and bash the game because i honestly believe some people may find it fun, and I hope they do play it regardless of the bashing it takes on these forums.
However, I will prolly not play it for 1 simple reason. The stuff you do on day 1-3 is kinda fun, but itst he same exact stuff youll be doing for your entire life in TR. All the quests, all the instances, all the mobs are almost exactly the same in every zone. That was really my big beef with the game.
I didnt mind the over the shoulder camera, it was different and i actually liked it more than 1st person view.
the skill / cless tree didnt bother me either, I like the branch thing much more than the system some games use. It wasnt the best system ive ever seen, but it had its appeal.
I wish people who dont like the game wouldnt come in and attack it so viciously because what they dont realize is it hurts the industry because developers see this and try to take the "please everyone" mentality.
Whats wrong with saying the game just isnt for me, and wishing the game sucess?
Um I wouldnt call stealing the Raelian Philosophy and turning it into a storyline "science fiction" so much as pathetic opportunism.
Get some learning.... return when you have a clue.

I played it and said WOW at first and then realized its the same crap with guns and most of the guns look the same, the customization is horrible. It would be nice if there was also melee weapons too through out early and mid lvls, not just 2 classes at high lvl. And theres barely any communication between people because most of the time people dont have to group up for anything.
Big boys ?
Disturbingly metro......

After reading the OPs post I can only say LOL!!!!
Let us know how 'great' this game is after you actually play it.
PS: Didn't vote because there was no 'kept trying to find the ZOMG factor after playing for well over a week but couldn't' option.
