im in shock...
I hope that's a fake.
If its not, I won't be asking for my game time back.
But I think I speak for everyone else...
GODDAMN IT!
Well if it is true we should def get our game time back. Any rollback this is more then 24 hrs should result in compensation for the paying customer
Rollback?? 4weeks??...this better not be true...or imma cry.
I really hope a rollback is not going to happen. If it does, we should get skills compensated atleast. Also I hope the owner of the intruder program will be found as that will get him sued to hell and back...
That is not the "official" irc channel Cosy, u re in Stavros one and it's usually full of joking. Servers are down but there is no word on rollbacks yet. Check "eve" channel:
<Wrangler>The news is still: "We performed a emergency shutdown of TQ and SQL Servers, no ETA for TQ to get back up." anything else is just specula tion.
So let's just cross fingers for the Stavros joke to not turn true. At the moment no word from devs about any rollback thou.
sorry for being noobish (I'm new at the game after all) but what's a rollback?
Also note that Serenity is still being reported as being up. And I doubt it would be if there was a real hack into the core of the CCP infrastructure.
I suspect they are doing an emergency patch to the system to fix a Database bug related to the recent patch.
Far as I could tell, the game was operating fine with no major problems. Chat showed no real issues from players.
We will see.
Rollback is returning the game to the state it was 2-4 weeks ago.
whats the "eve" channel address on iRC?
HA! god damn I wasn't even "alive" in eve back then
The #eve-online channel on irc is far from official, so i think this is a simple fake..
lets wait for an OFFICIAL statement instead of some (stupid) op in #eve-online setting a funny motd..
(god, i hate that channel..)

I would be seriously pissed off...
As i said, look into the OFFICIAL channels, not some unofficial channel filled mostly with whiners and immature children..
Well...hope no rollback happens....will put off a lot of players, myself included.
I really don't think anything like a roll back will happen.
That would be very extreme and could honestly spell the end of Eve.
A lot has happened in the last several weeks, many huge battles, Outposts changed hands, POS's destroyed, etc. How on Earth could they roll all that back?
I would make the entire game meaningless and you might as well not even play.
As it is now there are consequences. A time warp to the past would undo all those consequences.
Yeah people that have lost billions in stuff would maybe be happy, but most people have been working very hard everyday on their accounts, fueling POS's, setting contracts, setting sell orders, mining, hauling minerals, manufacturing.
Can you imagine setting that all back 2-4 weeks? No, it isn't going to happen.
And if I'm wrong and it does, well....so much for Eve.
ill just post this here, c&p`d it from eve-online.de - forums (not official)
so this could be fake!
if they were hacked, we need to find the sob who did it and do nasty, nasty things to him/her. A rollback would destroy a lot of people...
wow I have spent the past 2 weeks grinding missions like you wouldnt believe to make a few hundred million... now... Im screwed...
hmm.... if this is true, and they can't undo the damage (including removing any ill-gotten, high level loot that some people might have obtained) then I will rethink where I'm going to game for the next few months....

If it's true then EVE will be no more.

I would be fine with a rollback (which I doubt will happen) if they compensate us. I'll take a Titan please.
If batolemaeus post is true (could be fake!) then they pulled the plug to stop further damages and to remove and/or do any damge control within their means. To completely fix the problem a rollback would be the only way but I think CCP would weigh the effects of rolling back vs. what damages they couldn't correct and see that NOT rolling back would be more advantagous. So I wouldn't expect a rollback tbh.
hi All,
I was thinking about that rollback. For sure we will have problems with all fights and battles but at least CCP could do something to help us getting back up to date with skills we will loose this way. Maybe it would be possible to calculate how many skill points we've lost and create a pool where we can take SP from and assign them to skills of our choice?
Let say that a char can train 2000 SP per hour and roll back will take us back for 2 weeks; 14 days * 24 hours * 2000 SP/Hr = 672000 SP
so, lets give that char a pool of 672000 SP and let him assign those SP to any skills he wants. I wonder if this is possible. What do you think?
