I find it hilarious that this thread grew 3 pages in 3 hours. Even trial code threads don't grow that fast.
To the OP, if you want a real opinion here it is. Your behavior makes you look like an ass. Claiming you didn't understand it makes you look like an idiot too. If that's not the look you were going for, you might want to stop complaining about everyone else and start changing your own behavior.

Maybe he is a troll, but then, some people dont understand what a private club is. You pay membership fees, and they kick you out anytime they want, with or without reason. The guy wrote them a letter saying he spent a $100 in subscription fees? LOL the game company had to spend all that $100 on paying someone to ban you several times. So in the end, they made nothing off of you. No wonder they cut you lose. You better spend a lot more than a hundred bucks if you want a game company to give a rats ass about you...

Where did you go wrong you ask? First respect, you character name shows up on the screen of other gamers, have some respect for them. Second common sense. Exercise common sense when dealing with people. Third learn from mistakes. It appears that you do not exercise common sense in the past and got banned. You still don't learn? Or is that so funny to keep trying and get banned again and again?
Your $100 a year is nothing in their income statement. Before you start praising your contributing, start counting the resources you wasted CoX. They might have received a million complaints against your ingame behaviour and wasted 1000000 thousand manhours of ingame GMs trying to comfort the offended players. You almost cost them 50million account cancellation. And you dare mention your $100.
With your social skills or your deliberate attempts to provoke to gain publicity (negative ones), its lucky you are only banned in a game.

When it all comes down to it, what you named your character is actually irrelevant. If you read the entire EULA, you will find this statement;
"The Customer agrees that the Publisher may take whatever steps it deems necessary to abridge, or prevent behaviour of any sort on the Service in its sole discretion, without notice to the Customer."
In other words, the Publisher (NCSoft) can do whatever they like, when they like, without any validation or even notification.
If you read the EULA thoroughly, it quite clearly tells you that your avatars, characters, items and anything else you create, manufacturer or invent using their software and service is licensed irrevocably to them; in other words, it's not your property in any way, shape or form.
So the bottom line is that the EULA you agree to every time you click "I Accept" allows NCSoft to do pretty much whatever they want with your character and account, including banning, name changing or anything else they may wish to do and you have no rights whatsoever in that regard.
So your personal viewpoint on character names is moot. Honestly, by their own EULA, they didn't even have to notify you, they could have just canceled your account outright.
If you've been playing the game for three years to date, you have agreed to every version and update of their EULA, which means you agreed to play by their rules in their game.
