I dont think Pure Garbage is a good definition.
By definition Pure means 100% or high quality.
This is more like a 2% garbage solution. Extremely impure.
I graded it at WoW level. It's got a lot in common, really.
Very combat-centric, with a million quests to do.
Hmmmm... Is there any way you could pt in a choice between WoW and the top choice? TR really in't the best thing since sliced bread, but it is better than WoW... for me.
Pyrostasis-you are correct, pure means 100% of something, garbage means anything worthless, inferior or vile. Since it is the last choice on the poll, I think pure garbage is correct; 100% worthless.
Surely to god there is something we can call TR that wont give garbage a bad name.
that is a TALL order. I do, however, feel bad for the garbage.
perhaps we can simply call it Feces, there is little good to say about feces, and its hard to get worse than feces... I mean... its feces.
So I say, save garbage's reputation and lets call TR colorful slang for Feces
I don't get all the hate on this game. I've played almost every major MMO since UO and this one is definitely one of the best I've played at launch. So far I'm lvl 23 and I seem to enjoy the game the more I play it. Maybe the beta was just unusually problematic? Maybe people just can't accept the combat system since it's not traditionally either mmo or fps style? Maybe some people are angry that it's not SWG2 or UO2? Maybe the f2p bottomfeeders don't like the price? I don't get it....
I've heard some people complain about the "depth". The story of the game is decent if you can get over the intro movie. The dungeons and environment are pretty amazing. I've played a lot of games where the story was not as developed (CoH, Ryzom, Shadowbane, Guild Wars, Planetside to name a few off the top of my head). I didn't see the trolling for those games that I see for this one. The game feels much more "alive" than possibly any mmo I've played due to the way npcs interact.
The only valid complaints I can really see are for the UI/chat interface and possibly the need for balancing of certain skills. Neither of these make the game "garbage" by a long shot.
My vote would be somewhere above WoW because I like the gameplay more than WoW, but somewhat less than greatest game humankind has ever seen.
This site is filled with trolls that do nothing but shit on every game that comes out. They may have one game that they play or are looking forward to, but they'll go out of their way to spew their derision on every other MMO on the market. I disregard 100% every single negative opinion about any game. On some rare occasions they may be right, but the odds are in my favor.
TR is not really my kinda game, but it is a fine game. My wife loves it and I'm sure it will suit plenty of other people just fine.

I don't get all the hate on this game either. I'm rather enjoying it so far. Plus... I haven't run into a dwarf or night elf yet
It's not going to topple WoW but I hope it shows other developers out there that there is a market for games without magic and swords.... I vote good.
I won't suggest this game to anyone, but maybe it could be fun until the next mmorpgs arrive.
Seriously, when i played the beta in August, it was crap. I left the beta because i didn't want to be disappointed before it was gold. But just 1 month later they said it was gold, so it was like a backstab.
I don't know the quality this game has today, but in the better of the cases, i don't think it's too different from the game what i have played.
I think i will wait 1 week or 2 before decide anything.
See my post in "Whats the census" thread but I did buy this game to hold me over for a bit untill games like Age of Conan, Alan Wake, and Crysis come out. I think it will fit the bill well.
I rated it good, and i have to say i did not get into the beta so i just played it by ear. This game has gotten alot of bad reviews and some good. Im a big big MM-HOER so i play alot of online games. I have to say this game is not as near as bad as what some people say it is. This game is good enough to survive for a LiL bit.
Me? Im waiting for Aion and TR has enough depth to hold me over. So if your wondering if you should play the game or not; go ahead and play. Its a good game right now, and dont believe every thing you read.
Every one is different, i think this game is good but maybe not WoW good.

I just don't think a game with 5 year old graphics, special effects, and UI is worth anywhere near $50.

Considering they threw much work in the bin I dont think these graphics are 5 years old and also the graphics beat many other mmos hands down. I need the full resources of my machine to run this wow is 10%.
This game has got my attention so far since I quit WoW after BC came out. Maybe I am just enjoying the "new" aspects of a Sci-Fi MMO.
50 bucks is a cheap date anyways so pick it up!
It's good, and since May it has absolutely kept my interest.
It isn't fantastically awesomely wonderful, or better than a triple shot@Illidan with legendary loots and a pole dance, and perhaps a shot or three of Oban.
Plain and simple, it's just good, plain fun, IMHO. There are no pointy ears, there are no gnomes...thankfully lightning bolts do NOT shoot out of everyone's arse (since lightning is...situational, at best).
Would I suggest this game to everyone? Negative. Do I think it's worth playing? Yes. Does it need some tweaks? Absolutely...I don't think that anyone that has played this prior to release will argue elsewise.
The release in comparison to AO is awesome; I won't even mention Vanguard (since the beta and release was so absolutely painful, I don't think I'd ever play that no matter WHAT fixes have/were/will be implemented).
In all honesty, the *worst* part about TR is global chat, listening to all of the "Well, WoW has..." comments (scroll back to NO pointy ears, no gnomes, NOT WOW).
I think a lot of the negative feedback this game has been given is mostly due to the hype....RG really *did* screw the pooch when he proclaimed TR to be nothing short of the second coming of Christ/Budda/insert deity here.It's different enough to keep me interested, but it certainly isn't anything overly revolutionary in nature.
Good: definitly above WOW for me personaly, but not the greatest MMO ever, still in my opinion is and will be pre-cu SWG. Might try EVE when the avatars get in but so far it's to much of a space sim then it is a game for me personaly.
First impression i had of TR was sort of bad and didn't think i would come to like the game, so i sort of left untill open beta, more things where implemented and more where coming, i started to fiddle around with the craft system which got better each time, now all i really would like to see is the auction house as it will creat some nice business in the disassmble'd items we all need if we into upgrading our gear/weapons, which is very nice to do, it does lack the depth i would have loved to see in the game but overall the crafting system does suite the speed of the game, don't think a similair ala pre-cu SWG craft system would fit in TR.
Graphics for a MMO are definitly GOOD, sorry who ever saying they look dated should either upgrade his/her system or atleast get to know thei system and know what to expect, many things can cause problems with certain games especialy those who run Vista/8series cards, some it works perfect but for some it works not so perfect. Connection type is also very importent as it's really unbeleiveble how many people we hear saying LAAAAGGGG. this is lol to me as sorry no lag on my part and my system is 4400+X2, 7950GT/512mb, near 4gb ram, Xfi-Elite Pro,res. in TR 1280/1024, so not even top of the bill these day's, was 1/2 years ago
Only sort of graphic problem i have is with gamma, it never sticks to the brightness i put it and is/becomes to dark when entering a cave with default gamma.
How can I see the result of the votes without voting myself? I mean: I don't play so I cannot judge, but I do like to see the verdict of those who do without polluting the poll.

THe graphics are hugely outdated. On my 4gb system with dual 8800gtx it looks on ultra high settings it looks 4 years olds. Im used to VG graphics kind of and that's uncomparable.

I'd suggest either updating your drivers, adjusting your settings, or doing *something* with your system (Vista I'm going to assume?)
Graphics are not, for me, an issue...and they don't look 'dated' at all.
I'm running 2x8800GTX with 4GB & an AMD6000+, and the only vid problems I have is with deferred lighting under SLI. Aside from that, the graphics are damned good.
Sure in that respect i sort of agree, but sorry when i compare these type of graphics i compare them with other sci-fi mmo's. And you have to see the differerence in type of mmo or mmorpg, where Vanguard to me is more of a MMORPG in its fullest, TR is more of a MMO to me personaly. You have to look at the consistency of the graphics and the are well put together in TR, sure would have loved it if we saw trees as i seen them in Vanguard, but would they fit the setting in which Tabula Rasa is setteld?, wouldn't the game be in very bad shape because of the high demands it will take of of people's systems?. Maybe you havn't notice'd but with Vanguard one needs to have a very solid system to atleast enjoy the game, i did enjoy VSoH for some time but simply did not have the time for it that i wanted to have to play it.
It's kinda hard to compare the graphics to Vanguards because that game has the best graphics engine out of all the MMOs, I would say though the game play is pretty decent (I don't feel like I wasted 50 bucks and I didn't crash a 100 times in 2 minutes like in Vanguard).
This game has a lot of potential if they keep the content updated and work on the LFG functions in the game. On a side note, this game to me is better than WOW (maybe because it's different) due to the fact it kinda reminds me of old pre CU SWG.
Don't get me wrong, im enjoying TR so far. But I see the graphics as the worst part of the game. And sure it can't be compare to open world Vanguard graphics, TR is much smaller and linear but nevertheless the graphics could be seen several years ago already.
