    Combat!

    Enough said...

Well not really.  Pretty much I don't care about the rest, cause it will be a lot of what we are already use to.  Example is, you can only do quests so many ways.

Personally I foremost look forward to exploring the world.. But also being part of what seems to grow to be an excellent community. Innovative classes and combat is also something that attracts me greatly...

The variety of different class types

Different mmorpg play - eg, No Common Auto Attack

Open FFA PvP - for those that like it

No cap on people in Border Kingdom.

Scope for a variety of tactics!

    Formation mounted combat

Oh and you wont see Elves, Orcs or Goblins as playable races!

    Yep no more WoW!

I'm confident from the looks of things AoC will play out differently and I can't wait to try it out.

I'd say the "Authenticity" of it. It's Funcom....they won't hold back. They're creating a virtual world here, not a wow clone for the sake of mass market subscriptions. They want to make a realistic, mature environment for those of us who are sick of dumbed down kiddy games, and I applaud them for it.

I cannot WAIT to get my hands on this game. finally something with substance!

I dont know how you can say that with a straight face, AO has been WoWized over the past year or two. We can dream but...unfortunately I dont have much faith in today's developers.

    Huh???

Just because they added some quests into the game doesn't mean it's been "WoWized". There's always been quests in AO. Mostly what they've done is add content to areas like Scheol where there used to be NOTHING to do, hence most people skipped it and went straight to Ado.

Not that anyone's probably going to do the quests anyway, since they'll be grinding Hecklers O.o

Man..how can you even say AO and WoW in the same sentence?

Well they all attract me. I need to say looking at screenshots is what got me lookin at this game deeper. I rarely spend time reading descriptions of upcomming games. I look at screenshots because a picture says a thousand words. From a single screen shot I can get an estimate of the game play, graphics, time period, and size.

So I browse the screenshots of games and if one looks interesting i check it out. Well I saw the gfx in the conan screen I saw looked very good for an MMO so I clicked.

    Cheers!!

The dark world is different. Different from WoW's candy land world for example.  And the combat.

Personally, I kinda like how Mortal Kombat met AoC and they put in fatalities lol.  And I'm glad they are not has hard to pull off as the ones in Mortal Kombat!  I think AoC has taken the right approach to them at this point and that they will be somewhat rare so that the game does not get repetitive in the fatalities.

Thats kinda of a neat thing in my opinion. Plus I hear there are quite a few, fromt he descriptions of  some I would be even more tempted to try out different classes to see just how good they claim to be!

This Video is really worth watching (again for some)

    Fatalities can be seen here:

Its 20 minutes long and from the recent Dragon*Con

The new combat system is going to be what is attracting me the most.  I really look forward to trying it out for myself.  And the new fatalities look like a interesting new addition to MMO's.

I just hope my assassin will be able to do some cool finishing moves, including decapitations.  Havnt seen if assassins can say, cut someones head off yet, only the warrior classes so far.

    I'll keep my hopes up.

Will I be able to use the X-Box 360 controller on the pc release version?

What makes an mmo, Graphics? Gameplay? Design? PvP? PvE? RP?

I believe it is the community that is playing and the Community you spend time with in and out of the game (guild or RL group). Hopefully this game stays semi-sandbox to where the guild can progress as they please.

The only thing that could go wrong is well everything

You would think so wouldn't you.  FC did mention they are making AoC for the 360 at a later date, so it would seem logical you would be able to play with any anolog controller, simialr to a 360 controller.

If I can use one, I will probably try it out, it would give you a very different way of playing the game I would think.
