I suspect that only games are covered that actively send material to mmorpg.com to publish, or along that line. Personally, (sorry for semi-hogging thread) I would like a lot more coverage of Aion, but it seems theres no information being pushed there - meaning no coverage. Are the editors looking for info or awaiting it? Thats what I would like to know... because if theyre waiting, blame EA for not giving them anything.
You you go to the games list and click on HG:L you would see a note that states the game is added here due to popular demand. It really had nothing to do whether HG:L was a MMO or not. But more to do with posters to this site (who also have or are playing MMO's) wanting HG:L here. There are or will be aspects of MMO's in HG:L like graphical areas where players can meet. And soon to have an Auction House, Guild Halls, and Mail.
There are enough review out there of this mediocre game that we don't need another, Then you have to consider it is not even a MMO, just a FPS that attempts to try to be a MMO and fails to succeed.
On top of it, they tried to put a ridiculous subscription fee with an errant billing system that has raised all sorts of alarms. How anyone thinks they can charge for a fps when there are far better fps games for free out there is beyond me. Just braindead marketing for sure.
This game has tumbled from being one of the more anticipated games of 2007 to the joke of 2007.
Just one thought for the free to play avocates, how long would you play diablo on normal mode? Because that is exactly what you are stuck with, without a subscription to hellgate. There is a big list of restrictions for nonsubscribers, you can read about in the reviews. I rest my case.
Because there is no news to report? But if you insist, I’m sure we can make something up.

Once again Ozmodan is spreading more lies. Hellgate has three modes of play. You can play on normal and when you beat normal you can play on elite. You can also play hardcore (where you character only has 1 life) Only hardcore mode is subscription only.
Currently playing: LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)
Looking Foward too: Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)
I think that the main reason is that the game is not even that great. I played it and uninstalled it the same day. The combat is stale, the game world is stale and character combat animations are poorly done.
Now if you're talking about game review sites in general, please remember that around this time a new SIMS game came out as well as Call of Duty 4 and PC version of Gear of War and Empire Earth 3. Although, I'm not a very big fan of the SIMS, you should see why Hellgate, a mediocre at best game, has not recieved much coverage.

Considering the other points Ozmodan made ( which I've highlighted for ya ), which you apparently couldn't argue with ( understandable ), you call him a liar because he made a mistake about which game modes are available ( especially considering until FL changed it to appease players, it was exactly as Ozmodan said ).
This game not that bad at all ones you get past level 20 the game really starts the quest are so varied and for £25 you cant go wrong.
The game play is like guild wars and cable on line.
This game is not a FPS or and MMORPG its a bit of both HGL has a very good story line and with fast game play.
The crappies game of 2007 i think not.
there is lots of ppl on line too bet the easy over 10000 just coz there not all crammed in the nob zones like most of you cant get past them does not mean there is only 5 Ppl playing.
Cor, I see conflicting reports on this game. I saw a review yesterday of this game giving the game a 3 out of 10! I thought this game was meant to be big.

Basically, it's like this:
It's Diablo with guns, which actually isn't a bad thing. The singleplayer game is a good hack and slash actionrpg.
Where the game has failed big time though is multi-player:
Bugginess, no real reason to interact with anyone, you can be in a group and never see your group mates since you may be doing the same map, but different instances. MASSIVE billing issues right at launch with people being charged the sub fees multiple times and for days in a row, or being charged but being told they have no sub. Add to this the fact that the game is only called an mmo because of the fact FL would never convince people to pay subs for a regular Diablo-style multi-player game, which is exactly what HG: L is.
If they had released the game with the proper target in mind, meaning called it an actionrpg and presented it as such, with free online Arenanet-style,the same as Diablo/Diablo 2 and expansions every few months, this game would have truly taken the game world by storm and would have made more than enough profit for FL to be a huge success. but by marketing and trying to present the game as an mmo, and trying to obtain monthly subs by doing so, FL basically shot themselves in the foot.
Because there is no news to report? But if you insist, I’m sure we can make something up.
I would think the game launching would be worthy news.... at least more worthy than showing pics of the Vanguard team's office.
Aparently not it seems.

I think the game is good enough to buy, but I'm probably not going to go with the subscription.
In fact, I just received for my birthday last night, and am quite happy that I did.
MMO games played or tested: EQ, DAoC, Archlord, Auto Assault, CoH, CoV, EQ2, EVE, Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Linneage II, LOTRO, MxO, Planetside, SWG, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WWIIOL, WOW, Age of Conan
While I can understand why some people might not like this game, there are many who really do. Action RPG genre games like this do not have universal appeal.
Personally, I find it extremely addicting and strangely satisfying. I have plenty of other extremely good games I own and could be playing (GoW, Guitar Hero, Bioshock, HL2, etc.) but I still find time to play HGL.

PC Gamer gave HGL an 89% but nowhere in the hellgate issue does it mention WOW. I agree with them, Hellgate is a blast to play.

Incorrect
Its free to play online as well. You can join guilds, chat, and group all with out a subscription.
Right now there is not a reason to subscribe as no content worth subscribing for exist.
I never thought there would be a game more hated than WOW on mmorpg.com, but looks like HGL might be the winner.
Me I think its worth the base cost, and the free online component Idont see areason to subscribe as of yet.
Asheron's Call, Champions Online, Dark Age of Camelot, EVE Online, EverQuest, Lineage 2, Star Wars Galaxies and World of Warcraft.Waiting for SWTOR

I see WOW bashing all over the forums
Me I played WOW and I will play some more when the expansion comes out.
As for is HGL an MMO maybe not.
If it is not then have it removed. The trick is there are other games on this site that would need to be removed as well.
That would nix a hughly popular game like Guildwars which is not any more of an MMO that HGL.
Me I say live and let live if a few non MMOs get in what the hell it happens.
It is not hurting anyone.
sS play what is fun for you and everyone stop flaming games you dont like and start bragging about the games you do like.

PC Gamer also said LotR Online was the Game of the Year, when there was still 3 months left in the year.
PC Gamer staff = Clueless retards

so true
Isnt its game play model based on "Free to lose, Pay to win"?
I'll stay away from it.
