I don't understand all the flaming about the content. Tabula Rasa offers MUCH MORE content then LOTRO and WoW at the launch time. Comparing game that even does not have 2 months to content over 3 years old WoW right now is just sad and ignorant.
Also when it comes to subject of bugs - yes it has bugs, this is obvious. Even WoW after 3 years still has bugs and is unbalanced and people whine on the forums how warlock is overpowered (so sad). Response of the Blizzard developers is that they look after the problems, bla bla bla, warlock should be powerful anyway, bla bla bla.
Here you can see two-week update results: eu.rgtr.com/en/news_article/feedback_friday_21st_december_2007
The response and work from TR Staff is just great, they answer people calls about ingame issues and unbalancing, also they fix problems as soon as possible - you don't need to wait 4-6 months for another update like in WoW, just see 857 bugs resolved in TWO WEEKS, how do you beat that? Also they don't need to hide known issues from the public, they do not lie like blizzard that whatever happens is not their fault. There was a problem with durability of items already when update did not went correctly. The fix was ready after few hours and all credits lost in this matter were back in backpack! No one tried to hide anything, they informed the community about is as soon as possible - professional isn't it?
Just remember the issues from the launch of LOTRO, half of people could not log in and staff on website clearly stated that all is ok and login problems are not their fault, they simply had no balls to write that they didn't expect so many people and they servers have too low performance.
And this is what matters, how fast they fix bugs and develop new content and I must say that TR is really ahead before other developers.
You can see lots of negative comments here, because whole community is so busy playing that don't have time for posting (I feel like I'm wasting my time here too, but false opinions on this forum made me to post here). Anyway, what can I say. TR has the best score on this website, so it just shows that people posting so bad comments about this game are really unsignificant... simply whiners.
This MMO in one year will be outstanding, it has a solid base for it... so instead of reading shitposts like all here (including mine), taking in account that everyone has different preferences, just save your time and check out trial to get the information from the first hand.
I will stay in this game for long, and I mean long.
Comments
I guarantee this game will seem great for a few weeks to a month and you'll think it's a really fun gaming experience. Once you get into 30+ levels you start to realize, "Ummmm, this is it? There's nothing to do but farm for better gear, level clones (then farm gear for them) and duel?"
I'm already past 40lvl with engineer and spy. Also I play almost from the release date. I don't see any problem. Have you heard of wars between guilds maybe? Seems not, if getting better stuff is the point of your game, then I just feel sorry for you.
This game has just have release. There were people in LOTRO having 50lvl after 8 days and what? Game still exists, strange? And Guild Wars - damn, 20lvl max? there is nothing to do... right?
I think you miss the point, what are MMOs really about, there is a multiplayer word inside, you know?
Are you sure? My main char is Lvl 34 now (Grenadier) and I still feel entertained. Same goes for a lot guys in my clan which is continously growing. A lot guys from Planetside, Neocron or ww2online are moving over to TR and having a blast.
Did the 3 trial offer and I had alot of fun with it. This game isn't pvp centric. From what I had seen it was all about leveling your character and being a part of the community. Which isn't a bad thing at all. If I am going to play a mmo in 2008 it might just be TR. I really think that games such as AOC and WAR are majorly overhyped. TR gets a thumbs up for being different than most mmo games today.
Everybody have his or her favorite game same go's for OP so he try defend his game np there.
Always have people who try talk nagative about other games you cant stopped that its a fact.
Objectivity towards your own favorite game or other games is for most very hard.
Every game have his pros and cons, OP obviously likes TB and see all those negative replys or topics about his game he so much like, well get use to it this will continuing and nothing that can stop that.
Its a matter of taste try defend your baby by sum up whats been fix or how much content it have wont chance a bit.
you have fans and haters always will be.

Yes, nice template, thanks that you stopped here for coffee, but please next time just read the post you're replying, ok?
I think you make an excellent point. This game has greater appeal to players who don't play traditional MMORPG's.
As for the OP's points about MMO games have other goals than item gather, that is so true. There's player control of the economy, player control of geographic areas, player control of resources etc.
That's the key ingredient missing from TR (from many posters perspective), player control of the game. As it stands now, outside of clan wars this player control is missing for the most part therefore the game won't appeal to them.
But its true, people should give it a trial before passing judgment, they might be missing out on a fun game.
Who the hell are you, and why should I care?
Congrats! You are a victim of Trollstar!
I don;t know what people are talkign about, the game just starts at lvl 30. Its great ! ( I have a lvl 34 toon right now ).

I guess it all depends on what you perceive as a good game. I tried the trial. I uninstalled the game under 12 hours. It is my personal opinion that the game is horribly unrealistic for its setting and it's just a downright borefest.
Heat seaking bullets?
Yay.. the 100000th bane dropship!
confusing UI
confusing mechanics.
Horrible newbie area..
No sense of danger early on.
After two hours of play, I deleted the game forever from my computer. However, this was just my take on the game. Other people obviously love the game. And that is perfectly fine with me.
I enjoy Tabula Rasa, (I also play LOTRO and played WoW for a few years too) but what you stated above is just flat-out wrong.
When you look at the different WoW races/factions, WoW had a staggering amount of content at release. MUCH more than Tabula Rasa does. Several times more. Same with Lord of the Rings. Even before the book updates there was more content than Tabula Rasa.
I played LOTRO at launch and I had absolutely no problems, nor do I now, so I have no clue what you are talking about.
Like I said, I enjoy TR, but your post reeks of fanboism.
Ok, first of all earth is destroyed, it is happening far in the future on different planets and more advanced Eloh race helps using their technology (mainly logos though) in fights with Bane. Describe what is realistic in your opinion? (Did you even know about that, it's a Sci-Fi), but ok, I assume that you don't like sci-fi.
But look, in first sentence you have written that you deleted game under 12h and in the last one 2h. Also you complain about realistic aspects, but you don't like dropships unloading enemy into field instead of spawning (appearing out of nowhere).
It is just like looking at the cover of the book, then see introduction (which is confusing because they have written in using different font then being used to), crap content in introduction... no sense of real story over there... there is no regular numbers, just some arabic junk. Damn, this book it's just the most boring stuff I have ever read... then throwing it to garbage.
Exactly this is the point why I encorage people to play themself and not read such a professional and reliable feedback like yours is. it is not that I don't respect that you don't like it. In the contrary I can understand that, but I can't understand why leading other players away with no real constructive description. Yes, I know this game has some issues and is not perfect (there is still lots of room for improvement which is positive too!). But which one is?
Also I can't understand, why if a new game has different setup of UI and introduces something new (read: not copied from others) is automatically disregarded. This game has two setups FPP like and MMO like. (So if you find one confusing you'll find other one comfortable - I believe that you have tested both making such a statement).
Anyway you can skip the newbie stuff if you want right ahead (no need to getting through the tutorial, which actually you have right is boring). Although I suspect that the game is not what you are looking for (which is normal, everyone likes something different) and you just tried to justify it somehow... who knows the truth.

He is problty talking about the queue lotr had on some servers at launch much like WoW used to have and prob still does on some servers. The lack of content I do not get either WoW and lotr both started with tons of content problem was and always will be is devs cannot usually keep enough content in game for ppl before some 24/7 power gamer runs through it all then sits and whines they got nothing to do cause they have played 16 hours a day for 3 months.
Newsflash: not everyone who thinks the game is a turd is a "WoW addict". In fact, I'm willing to bet most of us can't even stand WoW. Some of us just expect more from an mmoRPG than killing 10 million bane and hunting down logos.
Anyway, your attitude from both the title of this post, and responses to others who don't agree with you, makes it a "fail" thread.

Ok, thanks for useless generals any facts?
TR has ~40 group instances that have their whole story and whole set of missions inside, how many had wow? About 10? 12? Ok, point for LOTRO for storybook, but passing one chapter in LOTRO was like one instance in TR (with outdoor breaks).
Races in wow/lotro? Hmm ok, different character model and 2-4 racial skills... and 1-2 start locations that you pass in 20 mins. I played both WoW and LOTRO on the beginning and I can feel the real difference. There is just illusion of choice. TR has anti-grind innovations like clonning. In LOTRO or WoW if you want to checkout another char you have to spend another couple days doing the same over and over again (is this much more content you are talking about?)
Real problem is that as people state, that "in WoW game starts at 70lvl" or something like that. TR is different, you don't need to grind here to find fun after couple months of playing. The fun starts right away. You don't have to grind raids/reputations (maybe you meant this grinding much more content, because it keeps you busy for month instead of having fun?) You can start out a competitive PvP right away, right only lvl that matters.
NCSoft with GW and TR made a good point of introducing competitive games, where the fun and skill matters, not that you played 3 months more than another guy and have much better weapon, which makes you stronger, that your skills make you stronger.
Sorry, but your post without any reasonable arguments and the final insult of fanboism, just states that you have nothing to say and you are a lack of arguments here. Don't need to be offensive, my point is that everyone should check for himself, thats it. I encorage objective first hand knowledge. I enjoyed both WoW and LOTRO, but I have enough of so called Everquest copies. TR is something different and cannot be judged by having no content, because player is not forced to grinding. Have you seen GW? This game should be dead already... but it seems to be otherwise.

This is just a subject, can you find the difference between the post and subject of the post? You just got so far as forest-nl. Now please after replying read finally my POST (not subject!) and find "so instead of reading shitposts like all here (including mine), taking in account that everyone has different preferences, just save your time and check out trial to get the information from the first hand." A tip: you can use ctrl+f, in case you find this task too hard. Thank you, I wish you better luck next time. Also I didn't call anyone turd or being offensive, so if you want to flame, just with respect, find some other place, ok?
The response in encoraging people to test game themselves, so do you disagree with that?
How can someone say if he likes/dislikes this game if he doesn't try.
Also why need to say "10 millions", can you just write a simple fact, why deceiving other players, there is no 10 millions logos in the game, why need to manipulate others? This is why I write don't waste time reading posts (exacly as yours on my mind).
Also correcting my post when quoting is just sad. I believe that you have never done any typos and you are perfect? Or do you think it proves being better than me, because you found an error?
"Simply Rocks" (????) - how on earth does this game rock? I love the sci-fi background and the chance it could be everything that Neocron tried to be. I love the random (although its nor treally) spawning but the game is bland, shallow and repetitive - sound like any others ?.
This was supposedly a genre defining game but its the same boring mechanics without a strong background lore or story line. I played it for 2 months and it became dull very very quickly.
and thats from a non-wow addict.
To err is human....to play is divine
LoL it's funny you say that about TR. Because what do you do in any MMORPG? Well first you level yourself to as high as you want or can go. Then you find better gear for yourself and PvP against other people. This is the same for every MMORPG I saw you play WoW, well what do you do in that game? Level yourself then find better gear? Maybe a raid here and there. So I guess I don't see how WoW has survived 3 years when all you do is "farm for better gear, level clones(new characters) then farm gear for them and duel"
So I guess I don't see your counterpoint for your post.

WoW has survived and done well so far because there actually are other things to do in the game. And.. they are all extremely time consuming. Then there is the system spec thing that WoW has over TR. I don't like the clones idea.. but I'm the kind of person that likes to work for what I get.Anyways.. I don't like WoW. It was a decent game, mechanics were great.. lack of story, meaning, tacked on PvP. Unless you had another 8 hours to play a day, you couldn't keep up with the "1337" players. I don't like TR, I thought it was boring, poorly designed, implemented.. etc. My opinion is my opinion.
I am open to any setting for any game. Maybe I'm not a sci-fi fan, but I still think it holds enough promise to try something new. The first time I saw a bullet thrown like a curveball as I side-stepped, I got extremely pissed. The tutorial doesn't tell you about your health bar, there are like, 5 different things on it. I could walk up to four bane and shotgun them all and take almost no damage. Those things are very unrealistic in my opinion.
But look, in first sentence you have written that you deleted game under 12h and in the last one 2h. Also you complain about realistic aspects, but you don't like dropships unloading enemy into field instead of spawning (appearing out of nowhere).
Dropships here and there is one thing, but it isn't random. They are triggered events. Every spawn was a dropship. That was annoying. less than 12 hours.. unless I'm crazy, can almost be 2 hours. I played for 2 hours before I got sick of it. I deleted it in the morning, which was less than 12 hours later.

The first chapter is often, if not always, the part of the book that will intrigue you to read the rest of it. It is just my opinion that it wasn't "written" to my liking.

My opinion is what it is. I didn't like it. So, obviously, I'm not going to hype up a game that I didn't like. I'm going to give a little information about my experience, and if the person has a brain, they will try it for themselves.. or they won't. Like I said, if people like it, it's fine with me.
Also I can't understand, why if a new game has different setup of UI and introduces something new (read: not copied from others) is automatically disregarded. You're right. I've had experience with multiple UI's. I just found TR's much more confusing than any other. And, the tutorial didn't do much to help either. If by two hours, I still can't figure it out on my own.. the game developers did something wrong.
Anyway you can skip the newbie stuff if you want right ahead (no need to getting through the tutorial, which actually you have right is boring). Although I suspect that the game is not what you are looking for (which is normal, everyone likes something different) and you just tried to justify it somehow... who knows the truth.
I played the tutorial because I was new to not only the game itself, but the sci-fi setting as well. I'm sorry, but I just didn't like the game. I'm not bashing it, I just simply didn't like it. Sorry if I offended you.
Maybe, you have heard about the game "Chess". No background story, also almost no content at all. Every profession apart from queen has 1 ability... People must really be insane that they could play this game so long from 15th century!
No patches, no bugfixes... but lot's of tournaments and so many player from over the world.
I hoped that I made my statement clear in this post, I'll try to write it once again simpler:
- I have enough of statement like: This game sux! Don't install it, I don't like pressing key T. UI is confusing, no content, etc. I encorage all people to find for themselves instead of taking suggestions from non-objective players. It is NOT that you have to like it, it is ABOUT FINDING BY YOURSELF! Because this game is different.
- Community and TR Staff is great and they cooperate together to make this game better and better (and we have results already).
- Background story is great, maybe not so good like in single player games, ie: Aquanox 2 or Undying. But really decent. People just tend not to read missions briefing or what is worse operation briefing and yells later like "Why is this bugged!?!?!" or "Why is this locked?????" rushing greatly to 50lvl so they can say there is nothing else for them.
That's it. I'm signed off from this thread. I hope that some people will try it out instead of not giving it a try because someone wrote "IT SUX!!!1"
edit:
@DAS1337
You see, it can be written much more objectively. I really liked your last post. That is what lacks usual user opinion, they are most likely to be misunderstood by the one who is reading. You didn't offend me, I wish you best :-)
LOL!
Hey y'all, it's the Holiday season. Let's put out some love on each other before Santa Clause opens a can of whip-a$$ on us.
Seriously - no reason to argue about it. I dig TR - I'm sold on it. Some of the negative posts have merit and make good points. But I don't see why folks are getting so emotional about it. If you like TR that's cool. If you don't like it that's cool too.
Hey, imagine a world in which the only game was checkers.
Well you're new here so I'll at least explain real quick why I stopped reading where I ended your quote. If people are compelled to for some reason defend games they enjoy as if their own retirement depends on the success of the game at least try to be honest and accurate.
A comment like that just makes people like myself see you as one of those "fanatic" types that would stand around outside a news studio at 5am in 4 degree weather just to get a glimpse of their favorite morning show anchor.
Glad you found a mmo though right now actually worth paying for in your opinion. I still haven't.
Newsflash: not everyone who thinks the game is a turd is a "WoW addict". In fact, I'm willing to bet most of us can't even stand WoW. Some of us just expect more from an mmoRPG than killing 10 million bane and hunting down logos.

I called the game a turd, which it is. I didn't insult you..........yet.
The response in encoraging people to test game themselves, so do you disagree with that?
Nope, that I don't disagree with. Your condescending, obnoxious tone is what I disagree with. And I'm sure others in this thread will agree.

Your reading comprehension is the real problem here it seems. I never said 10 million logos.
Also correcting my post when quoting is just sad. I believe that you have never done any typos and you are perfect? Or do you think it proves being better than me, because you found an error?
Where did I correct your post? I highlighted the part you left out, that is all.
Basically, you attack people for not reading, when you apparently don't have the skill, yourself. I'm asking you nicely now, move on to the next person to have a battle of wits with. I am way out of your league.
Zorvan is definetly one of the biggest debators on this forum, its just his personal opinion. His vocabulary and education may be at parr, but he is just as human as us and maybe a huge game critic. I havent seen one game he has praised yet.
On the other hand..
I can respect his opinion even though I see alot of his posts are not in favor of that game. And why do people post about a game they dislike still has be dumbfounded to this day.. And furthermore, It has nothing to do about who is in who league, we all are just gamers that need to rant despite our differences.
Its northing personal Zorvan and as I stated, so take it for what it is.
You know, off the subject at hand. I am curious, what ype of games you play and consider at your level?
