First of how can DONATIONS be REQUIERD? I think you lost the meaning of the word donation. Second I dont think NCsoft spend this much money and use the Cryoengine plus put this much work down to make a game free to play.

Some idiot copied and pasted one of my "little" jokes. If you think about it, logically the game is kinda free as you're paying for that "shiny piece of plastic that happens to have a game on it"(If buying direct downloads didn't exist). And, you can think of monthly fees as "donations" to help with maintenance and expansions.
Whatever, anyhoo, considering how much effort and money they're spending on Aion, it will not be free. Having fees gives reason for proper server maintenance and for better expansions in the future in comparison with minimum seen in free 2 play games.

It has often been proved that F2P games have sucky communities because all the little losers who got banned of the good games go there.But mostly because a F2P isn't protected against hackers and bot users.So i hope they won't make it a F2P because that would be a mockery of all the work they put in that game and a insult to the gamers everywhere

A company that has spent shitloads of money on this game, a company who got 17 million of active accounts at a certain time on LineageII (pay to play game).
Their success wont rely on the US/EU market mainly, theyll get 14M subscribers from asia, and they wont care if you like to pay or not, they will keep being rich and the game will still be P2P here for the people who doesnt mind to spend 50 cents daily in something that provides them so much entertainment.

This is exactly the response I was baiting for, and no I really, extremely doubt that will happen. This game is quality and will be in a healthy state even if it doesn't break records.
Also NCsoft has games F2P from the get go, I haven't seen them sell a product and turn around and make it F2P, this isn't RF Online or Fury. We have seen them cancel a game and stop supporting it all together >> Auto Assault.
What I was getting at is that I really wouldn't hold my breath for this game to go F2P ever...
