    2. Collectors eddition  for 90 bucks you get a uber 2%  xp and 3% sta regen ring. Seriously how much more can you just whore the game out for a profit buy making people paying 40 dollars more having a clear advantage over those who did not.

I like alot of things about this game but this is starting to get me worked up and angry.  Bad choices that I hope we the future customers can help stop or change!

Sigh.......... more whine please about the bloddy items and so what ?.

as someone stated earlier if you need 1.000.000 xp to lvl XX you saved 20.000 xp , yay !

I will support one of the arguments in this thread.

After playing the heaping pile of trash that was known as Vanguard, if this game has performance problems, I will not play it past the first month.

I learned my lesson about "Patience" when it comes to performance optimization from Vanguard. It took them over 6 months to even get the game to a playable state, and I will never tolerate that lack of polish in a game ever again.

If nothing else, Vanguard taught me never to play games for their "potential" but for what they actually are.

Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...

"open beta" they use the term totally incorrect. It is really a large closed beta. Don't let them get away with making a  new definition of what an Open beta is.

Open beta is open to all people. They are not opening it to all people; therefore, it is not an open beta.

I agree with you.  Once the game is released I think we are supoosed to be past the potential stage. I did not pay for a box full of potential. I paid for a playable, polished game. In MMO's these days it seems potential means "we ran out of money..sorry..but one day our product will be at the level of quality it should have been at before we took your money"

Developers need to stop acting as if customers are investors. We are not the people you go running to when your incompetence and mismanagement has cost you tons of money and put you horribly behind schedule. We are paying for a product. Not an idea or dream. Not something that could be playable and polished at some point in the future.

I dont mind if the game isnt huge at launch as long as what they have given me is quality. I can understand not having all of the end game in place and ready to go from day one. Releasing a game that is barely playable however is not excusable.

Im going to take the opposite stance on this one. To my knowledge a smooth launch is a rare thing in a new MMO. I quit Vanguard after the first month, as I too didnt like the performance issues, however after returning a few months ago, Ive found the game to be as much fun as any game out there.

MMOs like a series of books starts small, and builds. If you just read the first book and quit from there, you dont have an accurate view of the series itself. As we all know sometimes the series gets better, book by book. To me saying "I want perfection immediately or Ill quit" belies a lack of patience. Im not trying to be disrespectful mind you, however I will say MMO's like many things in life really adhere to the old saying.

"Good things come to those who wait."

    Hello everyone,

I disagree on the first point, just because I don't really care if they have an open or closed beta.  I'm not convinced that it will really make a difference in how good the game actually is, which is what I'm most concerned about.  I will say however that I'm extremely disappointed about the collector's edition ... which I do have preordered!  If you're in the the map and other game trinkets that's cool, but I'm looking for some really practical and Awesome gear like the ring for spending so much extra money.  I was disappointed to hear of the 3% exp boost, but it's also unusual that when I first heard about it I was hoping for a 5% exp boost.  I had an awful feeling they would make it 1% exp boost, which would really suck!!

So, I do have to say that 5% exp boost would be an amazing item(and make all my dreams come true), and it would make all the difference in the world to me, but I was also hoping that they wouldn't allow it to be over 5% because then it seems to get out of control.  I guess FUNCOM probably researched more than I did, so I will probably just trust that it will be a cool item that will help a bit.

I have one question about this large closed beta- open beta thing:

Will the NDA be lifted once the game gets into that stage? cause that is what saved me from buying vanguard about a year ago. Thank god for that

p.s. what they are having is in no way an open beta, its like going to a street fare and finding out they have bouncers at the entrance preventing any1 they dont know from going in............ its not a street its a private party, right?
