I play WoW on and off.
Yes, it has become the "golden commercial standard" in terms of MMO gaming. However, I'm tired of hearing people who chose not to like it bash it in every third thread.
1. WoW PvP is as strategic as any other game on the market right now
2. WoW PvE is as complex and challenging, at the higher levels, as any other game on the market right now
3. There are KIDDIES in every game. There are plenty in WoW, sure, but there are also a lot of more mature players.
Just leave WoW alone. Some people hate it because it's "easy" ... sure it's easy to level to the cap. You can be L70 and suck ... but you know what? I've played forced grouping games w/ endless group grinds to end-game and found at max level there are still a plethora of terrible players.
WoW graphics are cartoony, sure, but they are also very well themed. Everything fits. You're free to dislike it, but don't cite "cartoonish graphics" like it's bad. WoW's graphics beat the snot out of a lot of "realistic graphics" games because you end up looking like dolls rather than anything more interesting.
Anyway - in conclusion - Love WoW or hate WoW, stop bashing it in every third post you make.

I guess the same could be said to you. If the OP wants to start this type of thread (granted one beaten to death) they have the right to. You can see this is a never ending cycle. The beauty of this type of communications is the if people find the topic of little or no merit the thread simple unravels into oblivion.

What, a post about WOW was moved to the WOW forums? Who would have seen that coming, not me I guess.
The post was irrelevant regardless, as mentioned there has already been several threads with almost this exact same title/theme, and we all piled on and beat WOW to death some more.
These forums are for discussion, good and bad, and besides, what does it matter to you if WOW gets pounded on in the forums, you related to the founders or something?

2. The gameplay basics behind WoW's PvE are fine. The problem people have with it is the whole "grind x repeatedly to get an item that'll help you grind some more" model. This is by no means exclusive to WoW, by the way.
3. Having played WoW, along with a ton of other MMOs, I'll say that I've found that it has the highest percentage of immature players by far. (percentage, not number...of course it's gonna have the most, having as many players as it does; what I mean is that nearly half the people I ran across in that game were likely to be assholes)
WoW may have its good points, but the ones you attempted to defend above are not it.

IMO WoW is popular the same way Bejeweled was popular. Nobody can really explain why so many people play it. The game definatly isn't innovative. About the only thing MMORPG aspect that WoW exceeds at is the 'Massively' part. I don't think any other aspect of WoW is innovative or fun. At least
its nothing but blizzards spin of game ideas from previous MMOs.

I find it amusing about WOW having kiddies and stuff in it's game. I look at some of the childish WOW hate posts and think thank goodness they aren't playing WOW. Overall the game is pretty decent and i haven't found many people to ignore.
I think just seeing the WOW hate posts on these forums a lot of thse players are the type to respond to idiots to try and show their superiority. Then they get frustrated when people see them take the bait and they get attacked by several people of that ilk. If you don't respond to the idiots in general they tend to disappear but there are pompous fools who try and argue with them.
If you want to find negative, spiteful posts it tends to more range with the anti WOW than the pro WOW players. Sorry i just want to play the best mmorpg out there and that is WOW for me as it is for the majority of players.

I don't bash wow, I just sniff the lies out. The lies about wow wouldnt have 1) grind 2) children 3) no difficulty at all 4) crap graphics 5) crappy gameplay

I've played countless mmorpgs and WoW is the only game i return to.
It's the game built to be played by everybody. Who wants a game that makes you think you're in the real world solving problems and doing chores. People say WoW is a grind. An mmorpg without grinding is a failed business.
Graphics suck? Who wants to play a pretty game that shows you what normal RL beings are like? It's all about fun colors and effects. A game is always better with more color than RL-looking textures. I have yet to see a game with "amazing" graphics--they all look like artificial and yea they look P L A S T I C. It's like playing pretty barbie dolls.
examples. EVE online is a great game with great graphics but you'll only enjoy the game if you like slow games with lots of maps and you want playing with old people who in RL failed at economics and politics. Even with a mature community you'll see the chat spammed with "10yr old" ethug talk. Surprise? Don't be, all games are infested with this. My first week in the game i got tells from companies telling me about their company structure from pirating ore to dominating the market... WTF is that? That is not how i envisioned fun in game. If i want to hear trade talk like that, i'll watch wallstreet shows.
CityOfHeroes/Villains is a great game with superfun combat action. The problem, worst grind mmorpg in the market. People are so bored they do beauty..err costume contests for low level characters.
Dark Age of Camelot and Anarchy Online are both fun and original but the games are so yesterday. I hope they update the game with new features.
Star Wars and Lord of the Rings... ruined by poor interpretation. Why did people failed such great titles.

Back to World of Warcraft
You can WorldPvP/Arena/Battlegrounds/InstanceRaid all you want and not get bored. Join a guild and try out raiding. Fight solo and do battlegrounds/crafting to stay gear competitive. Patch 2.4 will make the game easier so you can get upgrades easier. Arena players have gear for PvP but they all suck individuall6y without their teammates.
Easy, colorful, and fun. That is WoW and people think it's too childish. Video games are not made to be played by adults to imitate RL. All video games are made for fun and as a means of escape from RL.

PS if you really want to waste your money paying for games that just give you more problems to solve, go ahead and continue believing your $$$ spent is worth it.

I hope your the president of blizzard our something. Who gives a turd about what people think about WOW. No need to defend it, it defends itself, its the top mmo right now, nuff said. Also people have the right not to like the game, if they do not like WOW and are posting here (in a WOW forum) then they have small penises. The game is awesome, you shouldnt care if others do not like it, as long as it brings you pleasure that's all that matters.
