after watching this...its not terrible...but at the same time this brings to heart a trouble which has prevented me from buying / preordering the game. Performance. This is going to be something which is going to stranglehold the game. I am not shouting doom, but you can see lag spikes and sliding (which is desyncing from client to server as i understand...hence a form of performance error) with NOONE else (being the mass public) playing. Hopefully this is an isolated occurance, but it still deters me enough from waiting a while before thinking about purchasing it.
This is exactly how I feel, After watching that and many other videos splattered across the web, AoC just doesn't look like it will have good performance at all, scream beta all you want but the game is so close to release it's scary to think about how buggy/jerky/laggy this crap will be on release day. Rapidly approaching.
Not to mention from all the movies I have seen the graphics are ok..... and I mean just ok. Nothing amazing or spectacular. The game may be ok but not worth 14.99 to me or whatever they make it.
Blood and Boobies also is not worth 14.99, I can head to suncoast and toss an extra 5.00 bucks down and get debbie does the world on dvd if I wanna see some boobies. If I wanna see blood I will watch fight club or something.
The G4 broadcast IS enough to deter people from playing AoC as the OP suggested. I seen it and now I really don't wanna play it.

Some of the comments in this thread have had me laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair. I cant wait for May 20th so I can say 'I told you so' to some of you folks.
Not long to go now, quality media attracts even the fans of other games to come say negative things about the game. This thread is proof. Its too funny to watch them start "flapping"
Aside from the jerky camera movement, the only odd thing in that video is the way the game handles collision detection. The operative notion being that collision detection works in this game. It appears that players/mobs are treated as columns that aren't always proportional to the size of the actual graphic. Towards the end the horse rider passes through the neck and head of another character. Throughout the video, players slide around one and other rather than passing through each other as they would in most other MMO's. It's something that has to be accepted if you want (more) realistic collision detection.

We are going to play AoC in may 2008 but some fans won't see their favorite game until 2009.
