cool games for girls?

Hello everyone! i am new to the forum.

There are soooo many mmorpgs out there and im looking for some suggestions on what to play.

Ive been playing final fantasy xi for awhile now and really love it. But im getting to a point where its on its last legs of fun i think.... so im looking for something else.

I would like to stay in the same style as ffxi. Ive thought about eq2, but what else is out there?

also, for the girls out there, what mmorpgs have you enjoyed the most, and the least?

Thanks everyone ^^

First of all, welcome to the constant love/hate relationship tug-o-war that is mmorpg.com ::::20::

You pretty much mean cartoony, anime styles, right?

Yeah, that and the whole fantasy aspect of it. Trying to stay away from shooter style games image

  • KiamdeKiamde Member CommonPosts: 5,820

    Ok, with that said:

1.What is your favorate game genre. Your least favorate is apparently shooters.

2.Do you want to stick with a pay to play mmo?

3.Do you like online games and/or games you and your significant other would play together?

I like this forum already. such quick responses!

    hmm hmmm.

Favourite game style: rpg's or anything that takes a long time. least fav. anything military style. yuck. not too fond of platformers either...

pay to play mmo is fine. dosnt matter either way.

Yes i like online games, we have a 3 person LAN setup going on right now.  So I love playing with my boy and our friend.

Any other questions? any suggestions ? haha thanks so much

hmm have you looked at L2? It is like FFXI in setting wise, but it is hardcore PVP and there are a lot of those damn griefers. If i can think of any more i will post them

    EDIT: sorry, L2 is lineage2

You might like Dark Ages of Camelot http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/

                  or

    Everquest  http://www.everquest.com

It really depends.  Do you like fantasy or sci-fi?  Also, there are several great mmorpgs coming out soon:  EQ2, WoW, Tabula Rosa, Dark and Light.  Everquest has a 30 day free trial if you want to do that, but it only offers the first 2 expansions, so you will be missing out on a lot of content, but will kind of give you an idea.

By L2 he means Lineage 2. Lineage 2 is claimed to be a dull, hard, constant level grinding [lots of playing required to get a single level]. Murt, a fellow mmorpg.com member just recently stopped playing it because it got too stressing. His party kept on getting killed by higher level players and he gave it up because it was no longer fun. Considering that I am a male, [and I am ALL MALE *flexes*] I don't know much about games created for the female audience as well as the male audience. Well, maybe you should try "The Sims" or "Warcraft 3". Those are games that appeal to my girlfriend.

Thanks for those suggestions. Ill check out the websites.

I dont like the char models for eq2. bleh. I could probably get over it tho hah.

  • KiamdeKiamde Member CommonPosts: 5,820

Well many of the char builds for EQII are based on animals. Perhaps there will be an animal that appeals to you? Also check out World of Warcraft. It will look cartoony.

if by cartoony you meen suck ass ::::39::. I think she wants to go more tward anime style. L2 seemed more like FFXI graphic whise. that is why i didnt suggest eq or daoc. if you like isometric 3d view. Ragnorok (spelling?) could be a choice.

  • pseudobereftpseudobereft Member Posts: 9

Yeah cartooney dosnt matter, realistic is cooler actualy. But it dosnt matter either way. I just want it to look GOOD. which isnt really a problem so much these days...

but  i did think of something else.

I want a highly customizable.. umm cant spell char.

maybe not HIGHLY, but more so than FFXI. geeze. everyone looks the same in that game ;)

any more suggestions or do you still stick to those? does that change any answers?

    For a girl.. hmmmm!

Well im no girl but I do have some female friends in my mmorpgs. DAoC is popular with the ladies, even my friends mom plays it. If your looking for a all girls guild i've seen a few. Really all mmorpgs are good for girls, you just need a good guild.

i don't think she will like Lineage 2, that pvp setting just not fit girls. try city of hero, best game for beginner.

CoH is quote on quote "limitless in customization" and it looks good. You could be a female superhero. Plus the game is fun. By the way, don't buy games just for graphics, you need gameplay too.::;^)::

CoH isnt limitless in customization. You can look like whatever you want at creation, but after that the choices arent huge. And from what Ive heard, after 1-3months, the game grows very stale and repetitive.

The best game for changing your look on a week2week or even day2day basis would be AC1. It isnt as great a game as it once was, but it isnt bad either. There are more armor and weapon choices in that game than there should be, an extensive dyeing system as well. A major part of the economy consists of people buying and trading armor to get a matching suit.

If your thinking about WoW, try finding some of JuniorX's videos, he does the best IMO and theres a ton of them that document the character creation process and beginning levels of the game.

EQ2 will prolly be the most realtistc, but it will also probably be the most computer-intensive. You need at least a mid-range or decent system to play it when it comes out. Nothing 4 years old will work prolly image

Tabula Rasa looks interesting, but there isnt much info about it yet and its scheduled for a late 2004 or early 2005 release.

heh those sites have nothing on mmorpg.com... a few articles to read about  a couple mmorpg maybe.   They don't cover much on mmorpgs.

Dunno about that last link, or any of them for that matter.  Just remember a couple ladies I knew in one of my old guilds mentioning them.
