AoC system has you consetually raiding someone's keep for no other reason than resources. There was no realm pride, and huge benefits from owning a lot of keeps. You've got one guild facing one guild.
In Dark Age of Camelot, the sieges weren't consentual, and the keeps were scattered across the frontiers. So there were field battles, choke points, gank squads at bridges, it was nice.
I remember one instance AoC can't hope to reproduce. Each realm in DAoC had a set of relics, 2 for each realm. The more you had, better the bonuses. Albion had been doing surprisngly well lately, and had 4 of the 6. So the other two realms did what they liked to do best, team together and raid us.
Relic keeps in DAoC are BEEFY and nearly impossible to take down. But there are certain normal keeps that if you take those over, the relic keep would open its gates to you. So we had Mids coming from the south on boats taking out the Marsh castle and all that stuff, cutting off our teleport chain to the keeps that the Hibs were taking over from the north.
They were so fast and well coordinated that we couldn't prevent them from taking the last keep they needed to open the relic gates. So instead, there was a call to arms over every chat channel. I remember it now, about 300-400 players of all levels and gear gathering at the keep, setting up siege weapons on top of a hill. Then way off in the distance we could just barely see the Hibs coming from the south, bombarding started with the siege weapons. Then the hibs charged, in the middle of the battle, someone shouts "Mids to the south!" We are forced back into the keep where we make a stand and route both factions.
They try again a few hours later, manage to take the relics, but they have to get back to their realm. So Albion buys a fleet of ships and blockades the port back to Hibernia, in the middle of the sea battle the relic is lost to the ocean floor, not sure what happened after that.

Age of Conan doesn't have SHIT on that.

Completely agree. To even state this game will be remotely close to the epic sieges DAOC has/had is funny. This game just isn t set up to deliver this. I might be wrong but i find it hard to believe that even 100 people involved in siege won t happen let alone 600+ that happened in DAOC which from personal experience i was involved in.

One thing that I think we all need to be aware and honest of, is being honest with ourselves. C'mon people, I'm a MCSE pc engineer and one thign I can tell you is this:

I dont care who you are, if your looking to get 75+ people ON SCREEN, with the graphics that this game is obviously capable of, theres no realistic reason to believe that a "mid-range" as a few ppl have called it, will tolerate this. Seriously man, cmon. What do you think this is? Warcraft? You will be able to play this game just fine on an average system. But if you want to be competitive in full scale, all out PvP, you better have a beast of a machine backing you up. This is nothing new. Hell, just to play CSS, or CoD4 you need a strong machine and a blazing internet connection with absolutely no lag whatsoever to be ultra competitive. AoC will be no different. Any of you who think your gonna take a regular P4 3.0 with a 7200 rpm HDD, and 2 gigs of ram w/ a 256mb video card (I would call that mid range) and go into full scale 200 v 200 PvP and be competitive, your kidding yourself and you will be sadly disappointed. Bottom line. If you wanna be super ultra competitive in the PvP sieges, your probably looking more like this....

    A Core 2 Duo 2.66 or quad processor, 2 256/512mb SLI'd video cards, 3 gigs 800+mhz ram, a 10k rpm HDD, and a strong Internet conenction.

I hate to break it to you guys, but this isnt just any old game. Its cutting edge technology, for better or worse, and this isnt necessarily meant to be a casual gamers game. This game was meant for ADULT gamers, with plenty of time on their hands, and a healthy budget to spend on their PC. No offense, but this is definately a hardcore's game, and your not going to get the same immersion on a "mid-range" system as you will on a quality gaming rig. Like I said, its gonna run fine on those systems, but dont expect to get great rates and numbers in mass PvP when your own PC cant even keep up.

I agree with you but i m saying the game wont have big sieges like that , big maybe epic like daoc no way. Hell if it does then ya what you said is true and will kill alot of peoples opinion on the game. But whatever
