The World of Warhammer

Oh what a wonderful world it is!

Here is a video I made moments ago in response to the recent "humor" threads, and talk of WAR being full of rainbows and sunshine. Hopefully you all like it and have a nice laugh in the process.

Great movie, Shifty! The material still 3:19 was completely new to me, and I thought it was very impressive. Though, I'd have gone with different music :)

I like the title of this thread how it compares it to WoW.

That's perfect because it is sadly, a WoW clone :(

No I did not watch the videos and I won't.

The video fortunately has nothing to do with the World of Warcraft.

I suppose it is understandable that you call it a WoW clone, seeing that Warcraft itself is in fact a poor spinoff of Warhammer lore. I am sure you knew nothing of Warhammer before you started wasting your time with WoW and this is the cause of the misunderstanding.

Therefore I forgive you, and thanks for the concerns. omgktnxbai!

  • Great video ^^

The strange thing I noticed, was that some parts worked perfect with the video. Like when he sings he see people shaking hands, then they fight. And other stuff. Really liked it.

I made a few on purpose.

"I see babies crying" - The Empire soldier yelps

"Bright blessed days and dark sacred nights" - Warrior Priest

Last vid sounds like the orc yells "YEEEEAAAHHH!"

    The rest is just coincidence

Haha I knew there had to be ONE moron who thinks this is just a WoW clone who posted in this thread

    --------------------------------------
A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

    Order of the White Border.

You're missing out.  The video itself was pretty hot and well worth viewing.

I noticed the matches; great job with the music.  It made me giggle.

    Wish Darkfall would release.

    cool vid.

To the Warhammer fans, although, I must say :

Warcraft being a clone of Warhammer doesn't mean WAR cannot be a clone of WoW.
Lore and Game mechanics are two different things.

Nice vid but really it is only a cgi vid which doesn't prove a thing and yes I did laugh at the music :) I also noticed the comments under the youtube vid as to people saying too bad the game won't be as dark as the original setting. Sorry but forever Warhammer will be labeled as a WOW 1.5 RvR/DAOC rehash with slightly better game play and graphics version because Mythic so wants to be like WOW and take their players away which will not happen.

Since when has Mythic become a great mmo developer ? They never have been. They made DAOC which only got max 200k players after a year and since that time they been at massive decline since then. The Warhammer ip is a great one but unfortunately the wrong people are making it.

I can only imagine how devastated you are that GW thinks EA Mythic is doing a good job.

When will the sheep learn that subscription numbers are not indicative of a "good MMO"? Just because DAOC didnt have 10 million subs means nothing of how the game was. In fact, back then 200k subs was decent. EQ was king back then, and they only had about 500k subs or something so really you have to skew the perspective.

When I read posts like yours I want to print a picture of your face out and tape it to my monitor so I can punch it into oblivion.

  • sirslayerrsirslayerr Member Posts: 128

You must go through a lot of monitors. Also, if you were to put it on your monitor, why bother printing it out? >.>

Just as little or no subscription number doesn't mean the game is good.

Subscriptions are concrete, they can be measured.  It is a reasonable basis to operate in the real world.  If not concrete values, what does that leave us?  How about a measurement based on EMO bois named after sitcom characters?

My my, why all the hate in this thread? Peace people!

Mythic created, with DAOC a game that many still believe to have the best RVR system on the market, regardless of any other MMO released since or before. I personally know many people who will go to Warhammer for that exact reason, because they trust Mythic to do it again, with better graphics, a new setting and a few new added features. I don't think anyone believes Mythic wants to reinvent the genre, and if they are smart, they will use their strengths and make Warhammer another great RVR success, like DAoC was.

As for the copying. Quit that subject already. All MMO's today use elements of another. Earthrise uses elements from EVE, AoC and WAR use elements from WOW, which in turn used elements from all games before that. It's how they implement them and what they do differently that counts.

I hope for everyone waiting on this game (as I know some of my friends are), that the game is as good in what it is supposed to do as they hope it is. It's not the game for me, people have already labelled me a AoC Fanboi and I won't deny that I am looking forward to AoC more, but that doesn't mean I can't wish another game well. *smirk*

What exactly is an Emo boi? The mention of sitcom characters made me realize you were referrencing me when you said "EMO bois" so it lead me to wonder what the hell that meant. Please enlighten me...

Unless I'm mistaken, Ted Danson hasn't been the name of a sitcom character before. The name is mostly known for the actor Ted Danson who plays the roles of a character on many sitcoms, as well as many movies.

Please give me a reference as to where there is a sitcom character named Ted Danson.

I'm going to make a SW named Orlando Bloom, just to spite you. :-P
