Ok thanks for clearing that up lol. My computer exceeds the recommended easily but I was just a bit shocked from that.

My desktop falls a little short of the recommeded specs though and it is only a year old. Actually the only thing that does not hit the recommended specs I think are my vid cards.  SLI linked 6800s.

I just brought an XPS 1730 for the wife too, fully loaded with 8800m GTX's - I had no option but to have the Ageia card - to be honest I don't think it will hardly do anything - expect give heat off in the machine. I think your 1730 no matter what GPU's inside will be just fine.

While the game might load, I can't believe anyone would enjoy playing with less than a 7600GT (or radeon equivelent). If they did install low rez graphics to let a 5800 run, It won't look anything like the screen shots.

Almost any 8800 will beat a 7950GX2. The 8600 would be close too. I think their choice of recommended is off. Choosing a older model top of the line rather than a newer mainstream card.

Forsure mate, the recommended is quite high, but when the game launches its going to be near middle 2008 thats 18 months past Vanguards launch. It just really scalable in the graphics department and I think they stuck that in there as a good card that can show the game off at a really decent setting / visually.

Alright check mine for me plz:    Intel Core 2CPU 6420 2.13GHz,    2046MB RAM,    Geforce 8800GTS 512mb

Thanks for the input, i think im ok but would like a knowledgeable person to give me there 2cents.

You're just under recommended. AoC should put a equivelent dual core in their requirements as people dont understand how out of date a pentium 4 is. If the game is more video heavy than CPU, you're probably over recommended.

I can run most thing whitout issues but when i played lotro and fury i could not max out whitout fps droping to low. Think its time for an uppgrade.

E6600 (gonna get Q9450) Not overlocked, maby i should try first but i never had any luck (i got striker extreme but still no luck :(.

    7900gtx SLI,  Going 8800 gtx/ultra ; SLI.

    2*74gb raptors.

    4gb @ vista.

I think all i need is new graphic card and new processor, maby not new processor to max out this game.

High settings - good to go!

Also remember net connection needs to be taken into account too. Especially upload speed.

Pure Guess - your be seeing 60fps in most places.

Too early to tell, I have two extreme PC versions in boxes on the side here infront of me. As they only just release the drivers for CrossfireX and the game is still being optimized I think it would work. Same principle as 2 3870's right in standard crossfire.

If this game was to suddenly interest me, or WAR, I would buy a new computer.

I was supposed to buy a new computer for about Vanguard release, but short of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (I was able to play it, but it was too saccaded), I found no game which I can't play...so I keep putting it later...and later...and later.

But Raiding/PvP enforcements are definitely a good turn off, which make sure I don't upgrade my computer. :P   (And don't bring the optional argument here, it is not optional if you are weaker)

Not forced to raid in game, mob drops of gear can't be improved upon like you can with crafted gear. You don't have to raid to get the components (but some will drop there). Not forced to PvP either, levels are seperate, don't ever have to enter the Border Kingdoms. You can find all crafting components outside raid dungeons. Not sure where your coming from or the bad impression your under. sorry.

If you don't raid/pvp and want to do EVERYTHING in a MMO you probably won't find one.  They are both time sinks to keep people staying (and paying).

What is Saccaded? The dictionary definition doesn't fit your usage.

I don't want to DO everything, I want to be the BEST grouper.  Not the same.  CoX fit the bills and more MMOs will in the future.  My request is a legitimate request.  Best plumber is a plumber in RL.  Best grouper has to be a grouper.

Sorry for "saccaded", I try to put a french word with ED at the end without even realizing it. :P  It means the game was "lagging" basically.  Aka, that I would need to improve my computer to really enjoy it.

***The person saying raiding isn't force...SOME components drop only in raid and you must craft it later on.  This is force raiding & force crafting.  BOTH.  This is not acceptable from my perspective.  I just want to group...

PS: Guys, you really shouldn't keep me arguing, I give up on AoC a long long time ago, a game which force raiding, crafting and PvP, there is no way I can even hope that these devs will get it, they just won't.  I feel like a professionnal skater in an african desert.

Really to demanding on the CPU... Most games recommend Pentium 4 3ghz.

Below what I expected on the graphics card, alot of new games require a Geforce 6600 or better.

    I pass.

    Q6600 (Quad Core) @ 3.6 GHZ

    8800GT 512MB

    2GB Ram

Hey guys, here's a small question. My current spec is as follows:

Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.8 Gig,  2048MB ram,  ATI X1900GT,  Windows XP.

If i would upgrade my videocard with a geforce 8800GT, how much would that boost my fps for AoC?

Also, would you recommend me buying a 8800GT 256 MB, or a 512MB card?

    Thanks :)
