Went to http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/ clicked on Obi-Wan on the bottom center to go to where you get the game. When you click on the "Order Now" link it takes you to: http://www.direct2drive.com/staticpage.aspx?topic=noproduct

If you go back to the Galaxies page and click on the "Try it now" link from the top bar on the left you go to the trial page to download the 14 day trial. The file itself is "data3.cab" and is 1.8GB in size. Found this strange as I don't ever remember downloading a .cab file for a trial from SWG. I've got another hour or so on this download to 1) See what it is, and 2) See if there's a sub for one year option.

Can anyone confirm whether or not they still have a "Sub for one year" selection from their new/renew sub payment menu please. If not, what options are there?

of course! and if you pay for a year and the game folds you won't be getting it back. just like when they pushed the nge on us! they will leave that option in untill the last minute!

So.... what does this mean?  What excuses are there for this snafu?

It's easy to get confused by the Station Store site.

The SWG Complete Online Adventures can be found under the section "Digital Downloads". Here is the direct link to buy it.

However, it won't show if you search for "Products by Game".

You may be right, I remember seeing SWG for sale on D2D before, but it drops off again a few weeks later.  They seem to put it up for a little while and take it down a little while later.  Might just be a promotional thing as far as D2D is concerned.

I have a feeling that they are either A) repackaging it into another "Starter Kit" or B) moving everything over into the new Station Launcher. I can't seem to find anything but SW:G time cards on the Lucas Store and SW:G is not even for sale on SOE's online store. It's pretty sad that they can't even seem to handle the move from D2D back to their own online stores in a timely manner.

I doubt it would die so easily...  They are bound and determined to prove that they made the right choice and all of us who hated it were wrong to not give it a chance to succeed...

    Yah, right.

lol so true... Probably even push a lifetime sub ala LOTRO too. Then "POOF!" Pull the plug on it, and make sure to keep the first place of the most despicable MMO company to date! How many major screw up do they have between their hands now?... That defies the most pessimistic pronostics.

    Hi ****,

Unfortunately SWG is no longer available for purchase and has been removed from the site at the request of Lucas Arts.

The link to the direct download at the Station Store is only the Station Pass not a direct download get it right genius you want to play SWG you can only get it thru Station Pass now.....

Direct 2 Drive only hosts games on certian quarters so that way they get a nice rotation of games in and out of their inventory.

Like coke and pepsi go on sale at your grocery store. 1 weeks its pepsi the next its coke. Its a good way to move multiple products.

PS i saw a few copies of SWG at gamestop adn asked the guy at thr counter how its selling and he said actually pretty damn good and informed me himself he had returned. So ive seen it retail as well. (the new box that is)

Yeah, he was bullshitting you then, LA pulled production of the retail box 8 months ago, it's been download only for that long, so if there's boxes sitting on the shelves there it's because they haven't been selling.

Important news re: Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Online Adventures

    From: LucasArtsStore.com

    Sent: Thu 10/25/07 10:22 AM

    Dear Customer,

We regret to announce that Lucasarts will no longer be producing Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Online Adventures as a physical retail package on CD or DVD. We will therefore cancel your pending order for this item. As direct downloading of this game eliminates the need for shipping costs and shipping lead times...

  • RastonRaston Member Posts: 438

if they do it is because they didn't sell, which kinda proves the point that the NGE sucked ;)

Or an "artificial" promotion as a top seller for the week. It's just like buying ad space with some of these direct to desktop agencies.

Do not underestimate advertisement! It's very subtle.

Will all the fanbois of the NGE crapfest stop saying they keep seeing increases on Bria and Bloodfin servers. The only increase you are seeing is the few leftovers that finally got tired of playing by themselves on the other ghost servers.

Let's get real here, SWG is very close to being put out it's misery. The only people left playing is a few thousand holdouts that actually think the NGE is the ultimate gaming expierence.

Out of what, 24 servers, 4 is somewhat populated and all others are just empty. I can understand getting attached to a toon that was created. I myself hated to close my account up right after the NGE hit, but damn, SWG is the biggest pile of crap in the whole MMO realm.

Nope, the link I provided works. All you need to do is to click "no" to refuse the Station Pass. Genius anyone?

Get it right folks! I don't like the NGE either, but...

RotW and Trials of Obi Wan are right now for sale at Station Store, either as bundle or separately!

And to get the basic game, all you need to do is to start the trial and then activate a subscription plan.

    k thx bai~
