To op, I'm not in beta but have been awaiting this title just as you but my wife walked into the room during a prieview of the game on tv and said, "Why is it laggy?, Why are the horses moving like that?" I could only say well babe, it's beta. But if the game runs like that on those computers now and it's coming out when and some people have high end machines will it be the same? She want's to play, I want to play, and family wants to play but will it match the hype-factor.

Beta testers feel free to respond in detail :)

if i had a choice between AOC, and warhammer id pick AOC seems more my style and caters to the more realistic visuals of gameplay as well as environment in general. War just looks nothing more than a darker and gritter PVP centric version of WOW. not my cup of tea. but from what im hearing both are going to be near $20 a month so i may pass both up and continue playing EQ2.

AoC will be your standard $15 per month. You can pre-order gamecards for that price right now :)

Blizzard should be very concerned about the games coming out this year.   It should give the MMORPG community warm fuzzies knowing that Kaplan and Chitlon are losing sleep as they question whether they should have shifted WoW's focus to tedious Instance raids or hardcore guilds back when the game was still in beta.

They're realizing their mistake now and trying to fix WoW, but AoC should be one of those games with strong PvP making them lose sleep

    Vanguard...*Shivers*

I'm going to stay on wow for now, since is popular and best option for now. I do think WoW will get challenged this year the most. If not AoC, then Aion or Warhammer.

But I think all of the mentioned games will have smooth releases.

I can't wait ti play AOC, but I'm still at WoW for now. Not much else to play out there. I think WoW has done a lot wrong and they will lose a lot of subs because of it. But it's mostly entertaining.

I am waiting for AOC as well but frankly Im done with over anticipating a new game.  After being let down by VG and Tabula Rasa I will just take my time with AOC.  Ill play parttime at first, read the feedback and keep an eye on how the game develops.  I am currently playing WOW and raiding so I am in no rush to leave everything I have worked on behind.

I truly hope AOC turns out to be all it says.  I do beleive Funcom has the no-how to pull off something successfully but then again so did McQuaid and Garriott .  We will just have to see.

That's about one of the badest idea's I've ever heard. What if you really don't like Age of Conan... But I do hope the game will be awesome beacuse I'm want it so desparetly.

AoC won't even come close to WoW...  If it gets EQ2 numbers, they will be lucky.  Remember Vanguard?  I hate to say it, but this game will be in worst shape then Vanguard when it will get released.

I tend to agree, unless people are exaggerating the high end computers that you need to run it.  I just don't see people running out and buying a new rig just to play this game.  I mean they could A) keep playing WoW, the #1 game in the world, or they could B) run out and buy a new 1000 dollar computer during the worst recession in 20 years,,.... to play AoC...   I'm guessing 99 percent of the WoW community opts for option A.

On the other hand, it may be more user friendly than they are letting on.  I mean they might be hyping the graphics to get play on geek websites like this.  Who knows....

AoC looks great and everything, but my hype started out at equal amounts for both AoC and WAR. Over time, it's starting to go to WAR. I'm playing WoW now and won't quit until WAR comes out, because of friends. Who knows though. Bottom line, this year *should* be a great one for MMOs

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

Why I uninstalled and deleted WoW and LOTRO.

Well, you know that AoC is pretty much everything WoW and LOTRO are already with a glorified combat system thats gonna get really boring inputting all those combos over and over again.

So instead of getting boring pressing 1 hotkey, now u press 1 hotkey then have to input the combo too which will be the same thing over and over and over again.  So ultimately your pressing the same hotkey many times over with this system instead of just once to get the same results....heh

AoC will run on Dx9 Win XP systems.  I don't understand why people think they need to upgrade.  They don't.  Vanguard?  EQ2?  AoC will have more players than that on day 1.  AoC has had over a $55 million budget.  They got 100,000 beta apps in a week for crissake.  If this game is not huge, Funcom will fold forever.  Eidos will also take a massive shot to the wallet.

WOW numbers?  Not at first, not by a long shot.  But, if they keep the quality high, the game will be a hit and it will have a market share.

Uh....Obviously WOW players see something in AOC that reminds them of WOW...So to me it sounds like Aoc is nothing different then WOW (Surprised! a mainstream mmo like wow? no way!).

I couldn't care less if AoC does or doesn't get WoW like numbers. After so much mmo disappointment in the past two or three years, I just want a really good game I can truly immerse myself in and ENJOY.

Its just that every time i play WoW or LOTRO my mind starts to think about all the awesomeness AOC will bring just in 2 months and i cant get myself to play any other mmorpg.

Any one else? I havent played AOC yet and i dont know if it will be bad or good its just that the game sounds so awesome i cant play anything else.

Im in your boat friend. After many years of playing WoW which I think is a great game, the time has come.

We need something new and refreshing, im not some WoW lore junkie.  Im a gamer and gamers need new features that the latest and greatest gaming engines bring.  We seek new exploration and Age of Conan will deliver this to us.

I can assure you that AoC will be everything and more.  It will grab a good chunk of the market.

    See you on the battlefield.

If the game is fun to play, reasonably stable and releases first (of the big 3/4 this year) it stands to be a reasonably big hit.

OP, don't count your chickens before they hatch.  Especially with some of the crap we've seen released lately (i.e. VSoH, TR, LOTRO).

LOTRO? While not everyone is a turbine fan (I'm not) and not everyone is a LOTR fan (I am), I thought LOTRO was a fairly good game, relatively bug free, lots of new free content. And its been fairly successful.

Now if you're in the EU and having to deal with Codemasters, that could be a downside.

I'm a Warhammer fan and love both WAR and AoC but the more I hear and see about AoC the more I like an d the more I see from WAR the more I see it going the WoW route.I know there are PQ/ToK/Scenarios and so on but the general feel is like WoW whereas AoC feels fresh with it's combat system and end game.

If  FC can deliver all they've been feeding us the past months max lvl 80,option to solo play up to 20,8 dungeons at release, stable servers and game playable on mid end and some low end pc then we have a hit.I really wish the game to succeed just to show those*&^% sitting in board rooms that there's a life and business beyond WoW.
