If you had taken a leaf out of Kyleran's book for example, who has done a much better job at debating with me than you have, at a far superior level, I would have responded in kind. I suggest you read my response to him to see me refute the arguments you're making. It was I that lowered myself to your level in response to your ill-constructed arguments, not the other way around. You're just doing this to skip around the topic at hand, just a distraction because you are unwilling or unable to engage in a reasonable discourse. I think my sarcasm is on an at least equal level of maturity to vitrolic, poor argued nonsense. Using my post to make blanket statements about the WoW community is also a poor assertion, and is pretty much just ad hominem.
Please do quote the so called "low level of response".
I actually kept my posts pretty much cheered up without calling people names / using sarcasm.
My arguments are not ill-constructed - I back up my claims and clearly state my opinions on why I won't be continuing on to WoW and presenting some issues I'm sure are in other people's minds also.
I'm not blaming Blizzard for what it does, they're aiming towards certain groups of gamers, both casual and hardcore since they got a large crowd to please and keep it going.
I am against most of their latest decisions THUS *I* and only *I* I pull the plug on my WoW account and as for discussion's sake I mentioned here.
However you felt the need to pretend you're ever so clever and sarcastic using CAPS + Sherlock being the golden combo of the day.
Thus as a response, lowered my post to your newly demonstrated & established level of the "debate" and tried to reply in a similar fashion.
I am not skipping the topic at hand I was merely doing a "break" and just quoting + replying to your miserably "sarcastic" post
I am using your post as a blanket for WoW playerbase because:
a) You support WoW with your whole heart
b) Thus it's safe to assume you're a regular player and part of the community.
c) I was also part of this community for a long time
d) Thus it's safe to assume I did meet a lot of people in game.
Rest assured there's a lot more like you in the game from what I know from personal experience and you DO represent a part of the player base...
I did not say my gametime in WoW was a waste, I am really thankful for WoW since it kept me busy all this time + kept me in contact with certain people that left for another country.
It is the easiest to get into, user friendliest and quite entertaining game for some time.
You kind of failed assaulting me there...
But really, please, *DO* quote my "poor argued & vitrolic nonsense" I did read the thread again and even if a bit tired I didn't spot any...
Please do quote the so called "low level of response".

OK...
WoW is a very very good MMO to begin with but if you're someone with a decent IQ and knowledge of when you're being fooled & milked at some point you have to move on...
There's more. Do I have to post it before you retract your statment or are you just going to stop while you're only so far behind. Or would you care to explain yourself to those of us with a low IQ?
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
Just FYI, they are adding a non-instanced BG in the expansion and all the rep grinds have been reduced in outlands to honored which you can easily achieve just leveling up so really they are a thing of the past. In the next patch they are removing the restriction in Kara that you have to be attuned, you just need to have one person with a key to unlock it.
I really find it amazing that people still complain about grinding in WoW. There are threads all over the forums that epics have gotten too easy to obtain.
Yea i read all about it sounds like fun considering i did prefear wow before the battlegrounds were put in.
This open pvp area should bring back some of the old server feel ally v horde not battlegroup crap.
And i dont mind the rep grind i got exalted with them all pre Tbc and revered with most of the ones in
outlands i just cant be arsed to do it all over again. And by grinding i dont mean lvling as thats feckin easy im talking about the useless rep grinds they always end up removing its a kick in the teeth
its a good game im not saying its crap by any means if you play any game for 3 years your gonna end up
feeling mind numbingly bored with at some point. Besides the xpack doesnt even sound that interesting i laughed at the trailer when i seen "NEW HAIR STYLES" as if it was some epic feature which should have been added a long long long time ago.

Yep if you're aware of what's happenning you'd see you are being fooled + milked. I regret saying about IQ cause the milking etc. is done quite blatantly so no IQ requirement needed there, I apologise, most likely tired when I posted that
I didn't say people playing WoW are retarded or something like that, I was just implying the obscenity of the exploiting of the loyal players that is all...I apologise to whoever I might have offended
Unless you're considering constant change of policies of use moral / banning people for wanting tochange their names then putting it up for a fee moral / etc. ...but that's another thing...
I've seen worse. The point was made to argue for the use of sarcasm. I did not apologise because I saw no need, and you do not need to apologise, most threads on this site make more offensive remarks, and the moderators don't care - this site is as anti-WoW as could possibly be - some other guy compared WoW players to having down syndrome an hour or so ago.
But you did call me out on being an example of an immature WoW player, which I argued, and you continued to dispute in a somewhat pretentious manner, so this is why I pressed the point.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
You need to keep replacing your gear. honestly, go on a private server and give yourself all th best gear you can think of. Then run all the instances to your hearts desire, i garentee you'll be bored outta your mind in a month tops. Prove it to yourself.
When you have your maxed out gear no upgrades insite, the game for you will become a 15$ a month chat room cause after a while all your gonna do is log in and sit your bottom down in org/storm to chat with your guild and flash your purdy gear at nubs.
Bliz is in this for the money make no mistake. So they'll do whatever it takes to keep us little hamsters running on that perverbial wheel. that means progress, dangling even bigger carrots in front of our nose's constantly.

I'm really a fan of GAMES not specific ones.
I tend to get sarcastic and call names when I'm tired (which is usually the time I get home + read forums with a cup of coffee:P)
I'm not here for the arguments and seriously that was never my intention :P
But your behavior does resemble some people in WoW even if you might not be the same as them :P
I would like to know who is the guy that replaced his T3 gear with lvl61 greens. Because I started replacing my 5/9 T3 tank gear at Karazhan and the other items with lvl 70 blues. The only exception those lvl 68 bracers which got nerfed twice. I think the guy, who wrote, that most people here just pretend to have been somewhere is right.
About giving easy epics - what's so wrong about it. Do you have even slightest idea how are 150 badges aquired for 2-hander or 2x1hand? These are 7 Karazhan runs (almost 2 months) just for the weapon. The arena epics seem easily obtainable but they are totally useless for me as I never PvP. Badges are the greatest addition ever done to WoW. And this comes from a raider - 4 days a week. Whoever complains about it is just an idiot who likes staying in IF bragging about his epics.
Besides the xpack doesnt even sound that interesting i laughed at the trailer when i seen "NEW HAIR STYLES" as if it was some epic feature which should have been added a long long long time ago.
You'd be surprised how many people feel this is an important part of the game. Honestly. There are quite a few people who play the game where "looks" are one of the most important aspects of the game and have given Blizzard a lot of grief that they haven't done more about it. This is Blizzards way of trying to appease those at least in some small way. So while you think it's laughable (as do I), there are many who don't.
Well in WoW, you have two different people when it comes to gear. You have "The Elitist" who basically have no life, play for more than 6 hours a day, use an I.V. with mountain dew in it for sustanance, utilize a bedpan to relieve themselves, etc. Then you have the people who have a life and can't get the gear they need or complete the raids before another expansion comes out and they never get to see the older instances because they are basically obsolete. So it seems Blizzard caters to the no life individuals that live in grandmas basement when it comes to expansions. The funny thing is though, both types are affected with the expansions.

well this will be the people who leave first to other mmos with better graphics and char customizations

Sorry but you are completely mistaken. I usually play for around 3 hours or so a day which is quite a bit, but certainly nothing close to the way you are depicting me here. I have a full time job, a wife, kids and even grandkids that I manage to spend time with every day. I watch little to no TV, instead I play WoW at nights for entertainment. My guild is made up of many folks like myself and we have recently been to Kara and managed to kill every boss there except 2. None of us are hard core players. Just playing a little PvP, going to Kara on occassion and doing some instances on heroic difficulty, you can easily get decently geared up and this takes no more effort than what I give. You can have a life and still enjoy most of what the game has to offer, those who say you can't simply haven't done it.
Have not played WoW since September, so excuse me if I have the wrong emote but...
/cheer for the poster above me? You can accomplish a lot and still maintain a life outside the game.
PS, just as a note. This kinda seems to have gotten off topic in my opinion. The topic, I believe, was 'How hyped are you about WotLK, and do you plan to buy it? If so, how soon?'. Not 'How evil is Blizzard replacing my epics with greens and giving me new hair?'.
Probably a year from now, we'll hear blizz is releasing ANOTHER expansion.
I don't want to grind 10 more levels, thank you very much. The irony is that I probably will have to if the other mmos I'm watching suck...
How about if you don't "grind 10 more levels"?
What if you experienced the quests, enjoyed the writing, admired the artwork, explored the new lands, laughed at the jokes, and took it as a nice little bonus whenever your character learned a new skill?
The grind is in your mind.
That last sentence was brilliant and so very true !
1. Greater customization of characters, which includes personal looks and armour dying (as well as maybe a trophy system, like in WAR). Mabye a graphical overhaul in the next next expansion.
2. More PvP i.e. more BGs and an improvement on the RvR scene.
3. More talents
4. More hero classes
5. A gear improvement system, whereby old gear doesn't become obsolete. That way we can raid BWL with some purpose, rather than just for reminiscing purposes.
Then it'd be the best MMORPG ever, and forever.

This is pretty much the norm for all MMORPGs, most of which are level based, and even for the non-level based ones. For example with EVE - which many people consider sandbox - you have more expensive stuff to grind for, or skills to train, missions to repeat over and over again for standing gains.
This is actually what the majority of us want. We want more content, more lands to explore, more abilities, more fun.
If it's been good up to now, why change it? More of the same you say? Sign me up for that. Of course this is just ignoring all of the new stuff that will come with the expansion.
I have enjoyed WoW in the past, though I'm not playing it now. I probably won't buy it at release as I don't really want to be in that crowd at Best Buy at midnight. I'll wait to hear reviews and so forth, and if I do get it, it'll be through Newegg.com!
