I am returning to SWG after leaving shortly after the drastic changes. Which server is more populated? Also, does anyone RP in this game?
The highest pop servers are probably Bria, Bloodfin, Euro-Chimaera, Ahazi, and perhaps Chilastra.
Starsider has become the unofficial RP server -- I know a lot of RPers from Ahazi transferred there.
So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist.
Dude, take it from me...just don't. I've been back, and left again before my month's sub was even up. It was a very depressing experience.
I don't remember the OP asking for your advice on whether to play or not, he was just asking where. { Mod Edit }

I really don't know, because I don't play on Starsider -- can't stand RP. However, the fact that RPers are transferring there from populated servers speaks for itself. You can always roll a toon there and look around before committing, you get 8 toons per account.

Ok, another question. is Jedi an overpowered and overused class?
Overused = yes.
Overpowered = no. There are some people on the official boards who insist that Jedi is alpha in PvP; those people are idiots. Jedi is terrific for PvE but absolutely useless in PvP.

This coming from the guy who, by his own admission, does not play anymore.
You complain if I "troll" your little cryfest over there, yet you come here and troll the board for legitimate SWG players. Hypocrite.

Ok. So, what is a good pvp class. Also, what is the better pvp server and how does the system work? Do you have to duel, or, can you attack certain level ppl?

For PvP, bounty hunter and officer rule the roost atm. Spy can be great if in the right hands, as can commando.
There are three levels of duty status:
ON-LEAVE: Cannot be attacked by players or factional NPCs.
COMBATANT: Cannot be attacked by players, open to attack from factional NPCs.
SPECIAL FORCES: Can be attacked by other SF players and factional NPCs.
PvP tends to center around Restuss on Rori. If you are combatant and cross the invisible "line" (you can tell where that is by all the people camping it lol) you are auto-flagged SF. There are also three similar zones on Naboo, Corellia and Talus that have bases that, if controlled by your faction, grant stimpacks and other buff items. You are also free to flag SF wherever you wish simply by typing /pvp to go from on-leave to combatant, then typing /pvp again to go from combatant to special forces.
The bounty hunting system is also tied into PvP as well ... if you deathblow a player in factional PvP, that player has the option to place a bounty on your head.
I would not suggest getting too into PvP before you get into the 80s level-wise. There is no instanced PvP, and there is no real way for low-levels to PvP without being vulnerable to attack from high-level players outside of mutually consented dueling.
The main PvP servers are Bria and Bloodfin.

Starsider is a good server less lag than Bloodfin and Bria ans a lot of people there too!
I assure the OP this is NOT correct.
If you want any population at all, and that isn't going to be much, go to Bria or Bloodfin. It won't be many people, possibly 100 on a server at one time, but you will be hardpressed to find anyone playing on the other servers.
If you are going to waste your time playing SWG, use the Vet Trial, do NOT pay a dime until you have played for free.

Oh Bull fucking shit, Starsider has a considerable population, and Bria can get down rigth packed in Mos Eisley at times.
But yeah play the Trial and ignore the "SOE Broke My Wookie" Idiots

Like I said, 100 people (1/2 of which are bots and 1/4 of which are AFK grinding) doesn't really constitute a considerable population. I was just on Bloodfin within the last 3 months, I know exactly what is going on there.
Why lie to the OP? Let him play the Free Trial and decide for himself before he forks over any money.
dude do not play swg don't come back don't have anything to do with it.
the playerbase is down to about 7k players and dropping faster then a rock. chances are it will be shutdown before the summer time. unless they rollback to pre-cu.

Where do you get your sub numbers from?
Could you please link the credible source?
you want numbers?
go look at the servers. and my source who is a very good source has told me that unless by the summer they get 200k players it gets shut down.

Your 'source', you mean the monster who lives in the closet right?
Account has been stolen, why would someone want to steal my account?

Translation = I just pulled that number out of my rear and cannot link any credible source because....well there isn't one.

Have to admit though these "sources" are amusing, pretty funny how anyone can take any notice as soon as the word is mentioned. Only one "source" leak has been proved to be right in SWG's history and that was the guy with the one post forum account on the official boards that leaked the NGE a couple of months before it went live, since then everyone's jumped on the bandwagon, made their own shit up and attributed it to their "source".
Can't counter an argument with a valid discussion point? Fishermage(aka Fisherprice) recommends you cut and paste: ad hominem

Almost all of the vets who post here regularly have played the game either through the free trial or a vet trial very recently.
