Agreed!  That was truely one of the more informative interviews I have read on EQ2.  Part 1 also! image

If r1tual read it, he would still say it sucks. Reminds me of my school days.

I would just like to point out that to be more specific - a BIG thanks to Kunou.  He could have hung out with the crowd and played EQII all day while he was there - instead he attended every single interview and recorded every word spoken, then went home and transcribed it all for this massive feature.  This really took a lot of dedication and will power.

    Cheers mate! image

Just remember, that was only part I of V - much more to come!

Awesome job Kunou, learned more from that one Interview then a couple months worth from just random websites. Answered a lot of my questions about the Scout class and combat mechanics. And that's just part 1! Good job and I can't wait for the next 4.

Like everyone else is saying, thank you for a job well done.  While I'm sure you could have been with all the others, having fun and all, you went beyond the call of duty and delivered some great news.  Thanks for taking your time to present us with alot more facts on EQII, and can't wait to hear more .

I just wanted to throw out yet another huge thankx to Kunou for the in-depth reports.... and even though I have been near certain of this game purchase ever since UX:O was canceled, I think I have finally decided to make a near-future pre-order of the game, which is something I would normally not bother doing.....

However there is still one more question for Kunou and I'm sure there are many others who want to ask....

Kunou : I know there was a blurb regarding ranged attacking...... Is there more detail on that? Or is ranged attacking still in a serious development phase?????????????????? I am going to be broken hearted if I can't develop a commanding  bow-master who can hold his own with a ranged attack (of couse providing the character is not forced into melee combat... which I'm sure will happen too)... Of course it is ridiculous to allude to Diablo 2's Amazon, LOL, but there is no reason that there could not exist a more real-world , well skilled "Legolas" type of character if that's what we're looking to play with.......

I have always been a fan of ranged attackers (even before Lord of the Rings, LOL) , speecifically playing AD&D......

Yes there was a short section about ranged weapons and ranged attacks. It was brought up because so little information has been released about it so far, but we did talk about it some, so it's coming. And expect more info on the subject to be released in the near future, according to them the ranged attack system was just implemented, so now that it's up and running expect to start hearing more about it. As soon as they start getting feedback from the people in the Beta on how it's working I'm sure we'll hear about it and pass it on to you.

LOL, I still stand by my points and say yer wrong. ;) And for the record according to everyone I talked to at SOE who had played it on both it runs a helluva lot better on the 6800 series. And will run even moreso better (that doesn't sound right but you get my point) on the 6800 at release due to the Pixel Shader 3.0 support and all of that which ATI doesn't have.

As for which I'll be playing? Without a doubt EQ2. WoW failed to impress me AT ALL. Don't get me wrong, it is a VERY well made game for what it is, the biggest ptoblem is that it brings NOTHING new to the table. Everything in it has been done before. Truth be told it's more of an EQ-Clone (as much as I hate that tag) than EQ2 is. But without a shadow of a doubt EQ2 over WoW. I was more impressed by EQ2 in the hour or 2 that I got to play it than in the entire 2 months or so that I've been in the WoW beta.

I plan on being a wizard, so part 2 was great info.  Most of it new! image  12 levels for a spell!  I bet that will be a big money sink for the caster classes though. image Having to onstantly upgrade DD, AOE, Heals, etc. sounds kinda pricey.  Excellent part 2 interview!! image

Once again great job Kunou! Read part 2 and it answered alot of my questions about spell casting and mage classes. Even though it was slightly shorter then the last one it still is much better then the useless info that comes out of most game websites. Can't wait for the next one! By the way is it going to be 1 interview a day for 5 days or just when you give it over to MMORPG.com?
