When will you puppies learn how not to preorder

Really. Last thing I pre-ordered was the Shadowlands expansion for AO, and my ass is still sore to this day.

From your avatar quote: "Clench all you want, it''s still going in."

It all is starting to make sense now ;-)

I would like to know what negative feedback you all are basing the hate on. From everything I can see, the game is going to be amazing.

    I will be preordering

just like every other mmo, they are basing their negative coments on beta leaks from NDA breakers which IMO is not a trustworthy resource, as there is no proof in those leaks other than the leakers opinion.  I decide for myself, yes i may waste money on flops like vanguard or DNL but i also waste about 150 dollars a week on cigarettes so 50 to 100 dollars every few months isn't a big deal in my eyes.

Are you basing your opinions only on what funcom has told you? IMO It may help to get a more balanced set of feedback, from all types of players and those that aren't financially invested in the game. Funcom is in the business of selling a product and really isn't dependable if you are looking to find out the bad aspects of that product. Keep an eye on the forums after pvp weekend and open beta hits, there is sure to be people sharing information regardless of nda.

Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.
    Woe to thee, the pierce-ed.

Yup, my family spends 60 bucks a month on Diet Coke, so I hear ya.

Funny thing is, the leak comments I have heard have actually made me decide to pre-order.

It's a a hobby game, some people are gonna like it, some are not... some love EQ2 or LoTRO or WoW - and some hate them. They are all 3 very different MMO's with distinct personalities and different flavors of fans. With that said, to each his own and there is no way I will pass judgement or b**ch about a game I haven't played.

Will I preorder? You bet your butt I will, because I'm going to buy it anyways. I never believe hype or hate, I decide for myself if I like something... and if I like this, I will regret not preordering. And if I hate the game, it can just go on the shelf with all my other MMO's I bought and didn't play... so goes the life of a hobby gamer, keep trying til you find a match.

i bet theres even more bitching on this game when funcom decides to move the release back again

fact is even tho the game will not be the amazing mmo everyone wants.. it doesnt have direct competition till WAR comes out, cause everyone is either playing WoW or playing nothing :P

    MMOs currently playing: -
About to play: Lord of the Rings Online
Played: Anarchy Online (alltime favorite) and lots of f2p titles (honorable mentions: 9Dragons, Martial Heroes, Dekaron, Atlantica Online)

Your comment reminded me the timing of the LOTRO launch.

When most mmo's are close to being released the hype surrounding them increases.

Remember when EQ2 and WoW were about to be released?

Everyday there was a EQ2 vs WoW thread.Im pretty sure SOE and Blizzard did not mind this at all.

This is a Funcom product. It will no more fail than AO did in its 1st year.I played AO in its 1st year and believe me it sucked badly.

Funcom funded AoC with AO so to a degree that says how successful Funcom will be with this. Not to mention they are under a licensing agreement to produce a game that is true to its license or the plug gets pulled.

The game will be overhyped and underdeveloped im sure. This is the job of any company with a product. But if you follow my rules for playing a new mmo it will be a good experience:

1.Never play a new mmo in its initial stages wait at least 2 months.(This way you can still get the CE perks without the headaches)

2.If you can holdout i suggest not playing a new 1 for 1 year.

3.Wait for a 7 to 14 day trial to start.

4.Let the preorder players beta test the game for you(refer to rule #1)

    What is your physical limit?

The game will not be pushed back, it already went gold a week or so back.

The rest of your statement deserves no response.

Do you ever play MMOs or do you just sit in forums and judge them by reviews?

The problem is I think the launch of an MMO is some of the most fun i've ever had in most of the MMO's i've played.  For this reason alone I preorder a game that I am looking forward to and I play it the first month.  After a month i'll review it and stay subbed or not play.

To me the first month is magical.

This is very true. Part of the fresh feel you get from playing a new MMO is discovering new areas and figuring out the tricks. When you play from the open of a game, everyone is on your level and (mostly) everyone knows as much as you. There's nothing like pioneering a new game.

Weird i think Shadowlands is one of the best expansions ever released in any MMORPG.

Went back to AO after a few years away and bought all expansion and man i simply loved Alien invasion and shadowlands expansion.

    Call it a prediction.

If they release in 2009 yes, if they release next month it will be the game with the most bugs at launch ever.

The devs still have problems running it at there own showings, What does that tell you?

Don't get me wrong i hope the launch and the game is great good for the devs and for the fans, but i feel the game will have a bad start or worse.

All i can say to fans and pre-orderers is good luck!

Hrm, A few months ago I was still debating which game I was more looking forward to, AoC or WAR.  Tho at this time I have decided against playing AoC I am not going to flame the game.  That said...

Something to consider as far as the devs inability to run the game at any shows... the version they are running is a "Show" version of the game, which is intended to not display certain features of the game due to the "Beta" version it is currently in.  And yes, the Beta version of the game is still going to crash.  It WILL run better in its release version than it does as a Beta... or at the very least will iron out the client stability errors people are currently seeing as a main-stay.  Will the game launch bug free?  Absolutely not.  It is not ready for that sort of launch.  It will have some problems, and will chase off some potential players.  It will make others apprehensive and lose them a few months revenue and then we will see a flood of posts here about how people are "Going to give it another try" or "old fans returning to the game in hopes it has improved" (Bloody hell I hate all of those posts.  STFU and go play the game.  We do not need to read your diary)

I digress... I do hope the game turns out well.  Enough people are looking forward to it, and the devs have put a good bit of work into it.  I truly hope it is a success.  Hell, then if WAR does not turn out as I hope, perhaps I will give this one a shot (won't post about that tho!) In the meantime, I do look forward to a FEW posts popping up with people telling us all about the woes of the game (Though they should all be taken with a grain of salt) and the comic relief is welcome... in moderation.  In closing... next post I hear about how "bug free" or "Polished" WoW was at launch, I am going to go kick a kitten!  Maybe two!

Yeah, no doubti freely agree with you and i do too hope for a nice launch but how the game is turnin out i still feel it will have a bad launch.(i only feel this since ht egame is close ot launch) If they delayed it a few months back it would have a much better launch but knowing funcom it will. We may just see another MXO..

    Playing: Everthing
    Played: DAoC,AC2,EvE,SWG,WAR,MXO,CoX,EQ2,L2,LOTRO,SB,UO,WoW.
I have played every MMO that has ever come out.
