I'm sorry to blow your bubble, but what you see right now is what you will get. No major features gets added in BETA. At this point, all they will fix are crashes and maybe lag. The rest will be as is. Until they release their first update.
ROFL...please..please don't do it, i am not even sure this is legal in public

I have actually been told by those in another forum here (whose game shall remain nameless...) that no one knows what a game is like until you get all the way to level 50...and then tried their version of PvP as well...(as that game has a "different" style of PvP than most games)
So, should I believe the person who has played a "stress test" of a game to only a minimal level...or do we have to wait until someone plays to level 80, and get their opinion...
Since I have it on pre-order, I will take the challenge of going the full 80, and making my own opinion...then I shall share it with you all...
Until then, we REALLY DO NOT know how this game is yet...and this "stress test" will also tell us nothing!
i personally am not having that much of an issue with the game a lil lag here and there but that's about it and so what if it is instanced it did not seem to Hurt Guild Wars, a lot of people that i have seen complaining in game have had the guts to share what they are running the game on and they are clearly playing on Dieing machines now i dont have a u beaut PC but mine handles the game just fine and on MED settings the game still looks stunning some of the instanced area's i encountered took me all of 10 sec's to load max the longest was changing from Day to Night the only lag i got was when i first entered a screen and there were people all around me but after a few secs it all caught up and away i went now i have not been following this game for long and am no where near a fanboy for the title but the game seems to work just fine for some and crappy for others im noy entirely sure if FunCom are all to blame here maybe you guys should be looking at yourselves it was never made for carebear machines.

so i have to play 5/8 of the game before i find enjoyment? games like EQ2, LOTRO, SWG all captivated me from the minute i landed in game.....i am not waiting 1-2 months into a game to find out "Hey its a good game!". THat's what the noobie / trial levels are for.
If they offered Tortage as the trial...i would be like..meh...cool...then meh...boring...
I don't notice that many bugs in the game. Nothing more than what you usually see in a MMO. Like World of Warcraft or even guild wars. THe only major bug right now is a stupid graphic issue that tones down the Model Shader 3.0 and rips it of it's details. Other than that, I'm enjoying the heck out of this game.
And that is coming from someone that was not even looking forward to AoC.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Flaming for those who are against or for the games is ridiculous. (In my opinion, but to each his/her own)
I find myself worrying that there will be those who won't play the game and decide for themselves. A game in Beta is *always* going to have issues. I've played a few and I really was disappointed, so I can understand the complaints. Still, it *is* Beta and Betas exist for a reason. So, once the first updates for those games were complete I felt compelled to play on and see if it got better.
Guess what?
Almost all of them did. They listened to the people who played the game and took suggestions. They set out to improve the games based on customer feedback and it worked well for them.
While I appreciate those who have taken the time to give their opinions in an educated and well-spoken manner, I'm not cancelling my preorder. If I'm lucky enough to get into the Beta then I'll weight the pros and cons accordingly. (And if I am part of the Beta I will do what the company expects Beta individuals to do- provide feedback!) Then I'll go from there.
See, you can't go by what the devs give you, cause they only tell you features, I went on and on about that and all the AoC fans would not take playability into account. I'm 100% Warhammer for sometime now as I've been following what beta testers have been saying about AoC for a long time, I just hope all the belligerent AoC fans don't switch over to the Warhammer forums, because they have a closed mind. Geuss not many understand the power of marketing !!!!
hehe someone who says they are '100%' WAR is acusing AoC fans, all of them mind and mot just a few, as close minded?
This is almost pure idiot and shows me yet again why nothing which anyone posts in forums like these has any validity at all.
Played about 10 hours so far and made 2 characters...
My hardware/OS specs:
Intel Core Duo CPU E 6850 @ 3.00 GHZ (2 CPU)
2 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT x 2 SLI mode 512 VRAM
Resolution: 1360 x 768 (Widescreen) @ 32 bit mode
7200 RPM hard drive
Windows XP SP2
MAJOR PRO of the game:
- Fantastic graphics and breath taking scenery.
- Awesome well crafted storyline
- Excellent voice overs and almost every important NPCs are fully voice-overed.
- Intuitive controls (the UI is pretty standard on what you would expect from an MMO)
MAJOR CON of the game:
- Okay I got a Geforce 9600 GT in SLi mode.. why is the graphics lagging ? On some places in the game I would run at full 62 fps but on some place the FPS would suddenly spike down to 16fps ??? And this isn't just an isolated incident.. it would happen randomly whenever I load into a new area (shared world or instanced).
- Random disconnects. Hmm for some reason I would randomly get boot out from the game and when I logged back in I would be placed randomly around a map and the instance where I am in would be fully respawned. I guess there's still some bugs around the instancing.
- Long loading times. Okay got dual core cpus at 3 ghz with a 7200 rpm hard drive.. why does it take like 3 to 5 mins to load an area @_@. Imagine if someone has a minimum spec computer probably take them 10 mins to load an area.
Combat system feels new but it takes time to get used to it. I suppose this new "semi-twitch" based combat system would be liked by some people while some would hate it. Personally I'm concerned about the long term effects of the carpal tunnel syndrome that might occur due to repeatitive mashing of the attack buttons. I could see some tactical advantage of using combos and attacking an opponent's vulnerabilities side but the effect is negligible if you're a caster.
I could say the game is pretty well polished and beautiful compared to others in this beta stage. I haven't experienced any crash bugs yet.

If not level 50 80, how about 30days?
Nope...I was told level 35 and 6 months is not enough to know if that particular game is good or not (according to that forum...maybe you know the game?...)
Go figure...heh!
So, I guess I will just have to form my own opinion, as no one else will know for sure how the game REALLY is!
I don't know what game you're testing but it sure as hell isn't what I am.
All of your disappointments have very little truth to them
Instances are not everywhere.
5 minute load times...Welcome to the beta test
Invisible walls everywhere - Nope
Combat system - All I have to say is No.
I've never crashed or hit any big bugs in this game.
I've never lagged around other people.
Skill Customization...No.
I don't know what it is you're seeing, to be honest...It's almost like they gave you an entirely different version of the game than they gave me and most other people on here.

^^
I would have to 100% agree with you here. I have a very similarly spec'd computer and it is experiencing almost exactly the same issues as you. I am hoping they will correct most of these issues before the actual release because the game itself seems great if I can get beyond the technical glitches.
Well the 1st set of levels are played out in an instanced area, but after that the game opens up, so the limitations are only there at the begining. I never did crash or hit any big bugs, so weather or not you disagree with me on my experience, I don't care.
I am starting to think people were expecting "Oblivion" style landscapes or Vanguard proportioned worlds...
And most games cannot handle it...
Look at Vanguard...lol...
Same with LOTRO...you know when you enter another zone..(switching servers, etc...)...they also have invisible walls...
WoW is pretty seamless...but still has some loads...
I have to say this game has been very disappointing. 1. Instances everywhere. You have these giants doors in the middle of the wilderness everywhere. How ridiculous. And you have 5 minute load times to get into these doors 2 . Invisible walls everywhere. You cannot just roam freely around the world like in other games. You basically have to stay on the road and thats it. 3 The "revolutionary" combat system is actually just pressing 1,2,3 over and over again. 4. very buggy and crashes all the time. A game 2 weeks from release shouldn't have this many bugs. 5 Very laggy around other people. You need a really good computer to play this game. 6 very poor skill customization. Very few skill to choose from. Can't choose your stats and such
The game has good graphics , but thats about it. It doesn't really have anything else good going for it. I know they haven't shown us the whole game, but this is the part they wanted to show us. And this part isn't very good. The only thing that could save the game is if the PVP and sieges are really good. I will have to wait and see on that. I certainly won't be buying this game now.
1. Numerous GB testers have said the game changes after Tortage in this respect.
2. "
3. There is more to it than that. Combos, spell weaving, and fatalities to name a few features. Try a necro... best pet system I have seen in a game, period.
4. There is a debugger that causes a lot of the lag. They also purposely shut down a bunch of severs and are running General Beta and Open Beta on the same hardware. That said, I hope they are not blowing smoke when they say this stuff. I hope the lag resolves.
5. "
6. To each his own. You can customize a hell of a lot more than WOW. The game has a hybrid system of class + skills + talents. Be sure to spec skills correctly in addition to talents.
Performance issues aside, because they devs say they are well aware and say these will be gone at launch, AoC has solid core gameplay. That is the only thing an MMO needs to succeed. People will wait out the lag and stick around if there is a solid core game, and there is.

I don't know, but there has been alot of confusion about the game being fully instanced and ridiculously linear, which is not the case. I think the closest thing I can compare it to is EQ2, except the zones are generally much larger with more to them, except in the beginning. green - i agree
white - no idea what your referring to
Really bugging has been load times
Incredible laggy
My computer is high end and superrb dsl line
I can see that fps is around 60 on medium settings and around 120 ms internet ping
but the loading times are killing me
I know its beta so I am not complaining about quests or skills etc
But basic loading is sonething i didnt expect to be so bad and horrible
hopefully they will have a fix in the coming days
