Should. But I have to flame you for getting an Ati. Nvidia will be 10x better.
Also make sure your using the exact same kind of memory (brand and everything).
You also wont get good loading times becuase your using an old 7200rpm harddrive with no raid or anything. But itll work just not fast loading levels or zones or the game itself.
You also need a DVD rom if you plan on preordering the collectors edition for example.

Hmm raid not needed for games?
When my game loads 30 seconds faster then yours when entering a new zone or me rendering animations quicker then I would say it is needed.
When my game is able to perform better at longer gameplay times I would say it is worth it.
When your cpu is running at 80% mine will be running at 60%.
Just a little clarification. BTW I play games without a RAID right now. Either is "ok". But RAID is better. And the price isnt that much more. Most motherboards include a raid controller now.
EQ2 Qeynos Guild- http://www.imperium-arcanum.com
2 hard drives but if he wanted an 80gb raid setup it would be 2 X 40gb harddrives. 40GB harddrives are alot cheaper then 1X 80GB one.
Actually loading times are pretty different on a raid and non raid setup. RAID is alot faster.
And very rarely does your computer not write memory to your harddrive. So it will actually improve gameplay over longer gameplay times. You can notice this by monitoring any game over a long period of time. It will consistantly go up in cpu usage over time. Unless you had a high amount of memory for it to never exceed your memory (cpu usage wont go up in that case).
Run the comparison. Do you own a non raid setup versus a raid? You must have a super harddrive for it to run on par with a raid setup.
Did no one notice that
1) He is ordering a pre-built non-customizable computer
and
2) He is ordering a Compaq?
Dude, no.

Dude, No. Its all about building your own pc, its cheaper and more rewarding. Even if it is a HP, it will still work well with EQ2- 9800 pro+3.0ghz. However, AMDs own.

Should i go to compaq and canceled the order? I have like 1 k to spend should i got to a different web site? Well?

If you can, please do. If not, It will still work well with EQ2 and many future games- but you didnt get the full performance for your buck. 1k is big bucks for a system, build a pc by urself- theres plenty of help on these boards and there are some guides on the net. Go with a AMD64 next time...

Yes, building your system is the best way to go, really... Unless, you want the technical support one of these other companies can provide.. (One reason my mother has a DELL now is so I can have more free time ) The only thing you really need to watch though is shipping costs.. If you start getting good prices on various components from different places, you're going to be incurring alot of shipping costs. So be sure to take that into consideration when figuring out where to purchase particular components.
To find good prices, use PriceScan or you can use PriceWatch
As for information on building your system, I'd recommend either AnandTech or TomsHardware for information. I'm sure there's other sites out there, but I use those 2 alot.
Good luck!
OK thank god you guys helped me in time to cancel the order on that compaq. TY! I have just picked out an amd on a webstie someone gave me earlier called www.cyberpowersystem.com These are the specs i customed the vid card and i hooked it to raid but which raid for i choose stripping or mirror and what do they do? And what about a vid card i hear the G force 6800 gt owns but its also quite expensive any suggestions? Specs so far and can be altered are:*BASE_PRICE: [+524]

That is a great looking pc- and go for the new 6800 GT its really looking great- worth the money from all the people I've heard from. With Raid either do a RAID 0 or RAID 0+1(recommened). If they carry the MSI K8N Neo, check that out(its what my mobo is- love it), although I've read ASUS board own as well. With RAM, 1gb is always a good standard. Otherwise, very nice for a non-build by you PC.
EQ2 Qeynos Guild- http://www.imperium-arcanum.com
Good job. Nice PC. Now, the only thing I would recommend is upgrading the RAM to 1024mb of RAM. Also, make the RAM Corsair XMS PRO RAM. That RAM can not be beat, not even by Kingstons and their HyperX.
RAM makes a huge difference. If you do not want to upgrade it, that is fine... but you will eventually need to.

Are you saying it is "more worth it" to buy the parts seperate and customize it yourself, or are you saying it is "more worth it" to customize one at a website?
For someone who doesn't have someone else to help them put together their first PC using the parts (Someone who knows *well* what they are doing) then I would customize it on a site. I build my own PCs from parts on Newegg, personally. Not everyone can do this.
Its cheaper and more rewarding to build a pc by yourself. I didnt have any help when I build my first pc a few months ago- and it was easy and fun. Anyone with averge IQ and could do it easily- its just a matter if you have time to do it. And, yes Newegg is the best store for pc parts.

Dunno whats wrong with R9800 since before the new generation came out it was overclockers.com favourite and thats where power gamers sit around.
The kind that care about every single FPS for their games.
Also head to tomhardware and see how the R9800 spanked nvidia silly in benchmarks.
However, note that this card you are getting does not say 9800pro meaning its most likely to be a non-pro version but it will still run very very well.
Yeah but Nvidias picture quality is alot better. It might not have the best performace in every single game comapred to ati but the picture you get is worth it. And nvidia outperforms an ati under most circumstances. Ati outperforms a nvidia under some as well. But nvidia always "looks" better. Thats a personal opinion though obviously. ATI's graphics are disgusting in my opinion. Nvidias are beautiful.
As fort his post. Definatly get a nvidia 6800 if you can. Also definatly get a raid setup and at least 1024 of RAM (best ram and CPU and motherboard and video card you can get) is the first rule to go by.
If you arent comfortable building your own then the system you pointed out seems ok as long as you get the best ram you can afford. And the best video card. And best CPU. The motherbaord they use is ok.
Yep happy you said it is a personal opinon. As someone who has used nvidia products from TNT2 to Geforce 4 series before changing to the R9800pro i can say i will never go back to nvidia in the near future.I found Radeon not only much better performance wise but also better value and also great graphics.
But thats my own personal opinon.
As for the original poster.Well truth is it is all up to how much money you want to spend .
The new generation of geforce and ATI cards are of course best to get if you are ready to spend that much money. They will do you proud for 2-3 years easy. However, like all gcards in less then a year they will be old news with the next generation. So if you know you can spend $400+ on a graphics card then go for it.
I wish people would stop saying people shouldn't of done something, or bought something. Dude your computer is Perfectly fine for running EQ2 and any other game out there. It used to be better to build your computer becuase it was cheaper and alot of companies tried to make it very hard to upgrade your system. Even then you could upgrade them if you knew computers. I have a HP computer and have completly revamped it. I have a P4 (system had this when I bought it), 1GB ram (upgraded from 512), 120GB hard drive(came with system), Upgraded my Power Supply to a 400 Watt PS (system had 250 Watts) becuase my Video Card I order recommended atleast 300. The Video card I orded is a ATI X800 256mb card (system had a weak 64mb card). Those who say that NVidia is better are not correct. They are playing the name brand game which is were people that the brand they have is the best becuase its the name they know. Ive seen both the X800 and the 6800 running side by side and with proper setups (even over clocking) you cannot notice any difference on any games. Yes tested with Doom 3 also. For a game like EQ2 its best to have doulbe what the min requirments are. Your golden with the system you got. Between NVidia and ATI you are looking more at you feel. Read the spects on the cards and/or watch them and you can see for self.
Upgrade to 1Gb of high performance memory ( Corsair XMS ) ... other than that it looks fine! Cyberpower is a good company, I bought a comp from them and had no problems getting a different vid card after I recieved the product. So I would give their CS a big A+. Hope this helps!

Considering this is an Everquest II form I will point out that nVidia's GeForce FX 6800 Ultra is the best for Everquest II. Why? Pixel Shader 3.0 & Vertex Shader 3.0.
The ATI Radeon X800 Pro is still using Pixel Shader 2.0 & Vertex Shader 2.0.
Pwnt.

An analysis of the 6800, 6800 GT, 6800 Ultra, 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition and the X800 Platinum Edition.
The Extreme Edition owned the X800 Plat in most of the tests.
Also, in a comparison of the X800 normal to the 6800 Ultra normal, the X800 only beat the 6800 Ultra is Doom 3, it was beat in most other games.
Also, read my post above this.
Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader 3.0.
X800 = teh beat for Everquest II.
