Darkfall tied at #14 with Duke Nukem Forever on PC Worlds' Top 15 Vaporware Products of All Time

More and more of the major computer and gaming sites are taking shots at Darkfall. I wonder which site will be next? Maybe I should e-mail a copy to Tasos for a laugh.

LOL, thanks for a trip down memory lane. I actually remember about half of those....
Hate to burst your bubble, but PC World has been around for a very long time, both the site and the magazine. Also, they are a mainstream computer information site, they do not generally cover computer games as a dedicated game site/magazine would. So for PC World to call out Darkfall as vaporware means not only are we gamers fed up with Aventurine, but their lackluster development strategies are now becoming known to the press in general.

when a pc magazine can show me proof that its actulyl vaporware then illbelive them until then i believe taso unles prooven other words. i would never believe some random person like you that has stooped this low.

Actually, its the same site and the same article that got posted months ago. More and more? Try one, and I wouldn't call them major either. Most "major" gaming sites don't make unprofessional and uninformed assumptions about games in development. Darkfall has only been in development for about 5 years. Anyone else remember the vaporware trolls back in the Middle Earth Online days?

If you're referring to the response to what some believed was a shot at AoC(it was just a shot at mediocre games in general, which AoC falls under so far) that was a FAN. There's a gigantic disclaimer saying that it was not an official Funcom response, I'm shocked so many people missed it. You or I could have posted something exactly like it.

This is all part of Aventurines supposed master plan to promote their game purely by word of mouth, as we can all see its working wonderfully.
"word of mouth" will play his role if the game is released. Personally i am thinking its one of the best plans to building and base a community upon. The strong moments of this is just after release and not before release.

With launch so close, where is the hype? The videos? The screenshots? What little we have seen is a joke.
And I love the way fanboys say "it is their decision to keep it quiet", "they have a right not to show the game", "they dont need to prove anything", "you dont have to read about it" ...
It is a disgrace for mmorgp.com to support this game. It is a scam, a lie and they have NOTHING to show after 7 years of development and the promises they made of the game would be IMPOSSIBLE without a large company with experience and a lot of dough.

Isn't the burden of proof that a product is actually being produced on the producers? If that isn't true hell I'm going to start a mmo with everything under the sun in it too. I'll be putting up pre-orders next week.
I have a better idea. Why don't you deal with the fact that Darkfall hasn't shown jack shit in 7 years and go away already (and take Darkfall with you).

Looks like the developers of Darkfall appear to agree with you, whether or not it is the best plan for building a community remains to be seen, but it certainly appears to be having the opposite effect at the moment in my opinion.

Perhaps someone should tell Aventurine that.
The other article was based soley on computer games.
This one includes tech hardware and software. Different bracket, and much harder to crack the Top 10. I remember being outraged last time because Darkfall did not hit No. 2 in all-time vapourware titles... but I can't be upset by a No. 15 (tied?) on this list. Most of the Top 10 'hardware' items will never, ever release, and everyone knows it, compared to DNF and DF, who still think hope to release some day.
It's only been 7 years. No need to rush DF out the door. Give 'em another 5 years, and maybe DF fans will start getting a little anxious.
