It doesn't matter what race you are. One of the best parts of this game is its story.
Btw, in most MMOs, you start out in pretty much the same place, and gradually start to play in the same areas as everyone else in the same place every time.

There is very, very little different playstyles from 1 to 20.
But just as playing the same place over again, same quests, over again from 1 to 20.
Same looking person, you can't really say they look different.
If you not interrested scroll your mouse up your face.
however, you can take different paths through that 1-20 place. Also, Rogue, Caster, and Soldier each have different quest lines for the single-player aspect, and different roles in the day time aspect.
Yes, there's one species...human. Get over it....this isn't a phantasy game with gnomes and elves, it's a barbaric medieval pit of cruelty, injustice, and evil.
And it's about goddamn time.

I'm afraid that your expectations might be a bit skewd. i do agree that 1-20 might become tiring for those who like to play many classes (and maybe funcom will address this?) However it doesn't matter that there is only one race.
Guild Wars did just fine with only one race.
This game is based on a very popular IP. People who know of Conan will expect... "humans". It's as if you signed on to play an mmo based on Greece or Rome. would you expect other races? No, you would be excited to play an mmo based on greece or rome.
As far as the differences between the humans, they can be felt with the flavor of the starting cities. it's actually very exciting provided that the rest of the gameplay can be compelling.

Well how different playstyle can you have when you play from the same place at level 1 to 20.There is very, very little different playstyles from 1 to 20.
But just as playing the same place over again, same quests, over again from 1 to 20.
Same looking person, you can't really say they look different.

Your class starts from level 1. Not level 20. Each class has its own abilities. So what if your the same species and start in the same zone. That doesn't matter. Incidentally, EQ2 (and soon Vanguard) does the same thing.
Btw, I'm told that some of the quests differ between the major archtypes.
And no, you don't look the same as everyone else. Character customisation starts when you create the character.

Actually devs of games DO read posts and topics related to there games.It hapens more than you think.
If you are a pacifist and a simpleton whereby anything simple will excite you and couldn't care less ,just as long as you can play a game,then games will never get better,if they listen to players like you.
If you want your game to evolve or be alot better,then YES you should speak out and the more that speak out ,just maybe your concerns will be addressed.If you just sit there and make excuses for the devs downfall or laziness or lack of content,then you won't get a better game .
Just think if a game fails and nobody said anything negative,just how on earth would the devs know where they went wrong?If people just say yes our game is solid there is nothing that needs fixing,do you think the devs will put any effort into making your game better?of course not because you don't care !
it's as simple as that,you asked,so i took the time to answer,i really thought it would be obvious why there are forums and discussions...guess not.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
No one works for any of the companies, its just a thought that comes to mind whenever someone cannot grasp the possiblity that another person dislikes the game that they praise so highly.

Think about it this way.
Would you only watch a movie once, just because you've seen it and it means nothing now? If you watch that same movie again, you'll notice more, learn things about the story that you hadn't learnt in the first place, and possibly see some of the subliminal quirks that are added to a lot of movies today.
Plus, as stated before, the story changes. Even if it didn't, you still have to try out all of the different classes and test out different playstyles.
And also, more than one race would do absolutely nothing for this game. This isn't a fairy tale, its a down and dirty adult MMO meant for people who like the realism aspect of video games (disregarding the monster aspect of the Hyborian world) and those who like a game that was made for maturity and not for children.
Its like a historical fantasy, such as George R R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. So look here you set loving whore, different races and civillizations are going to be cracking each others skulls in, cutting down their foes, taking over each others lands and having all out brutality of carnage for ages to come, and you whine that there is ZERO replayability! Youre a mad man if you think that is the case. Maybe blood makes you squimish, maybe you work for the enemy. Whatever the case, we all will be loving the hell out of Hyboria while you're busy being a weak minded little craven. If you grow a spine, come join the fray! If not, Im sure you'll find your glory in Warhammer, like the rest. I think you're missing out, but hey, we all are stranded on Tortage until we overthrow the overlord and his dark magics.. it must suck to do that eh? Actively change your world by joining forces with other races to slay the Red Hand? God, that must be so boring.. not. After 20, you return home, its a good cause to fight for, going to your homelands. Oh and you can skip Tortage I believe, after you get one character to 20. So how do ya like them Apples!

So this can be skipped.
So IF the story so important as everyone say, and IF as everyone say that you can play your character SO MANY WAYS thrue level 1 to 20.
