Are u in a crusade or something to save us from Funcom?
No... Just really tired of fanbois twisting the verbage in funcom advertising. No twisting what they posted on the 16th.

Just hard to believe they kept the page up after announcing the string of lies about limited space being available from the beginning.
funcom pwned themselves. Too Funny...

     Here is a news flash.

Personally I dont give a flying <F>

Thats FLYING <<<F>>>

.. If they lied about the stupid early access or not.

I dont care if a flipping lead designer went on Youtube and personally promised that everyone who pre-ordered would get 3 extra days of play all to themselves no matter what.

      Granted, it looks tarded.

But, personally, I only care about whether or not the flipping game lives up to the hype... at least SOMEWHAT.

If this game ends up like a new Vanguard then I will be right there with you breaking boulders to throw stones while I cancel my sub.

However, FunCom is *not* the new Sigil. I have been playing Anarchy Online since ***BETA*** so, respectfully,  I think I know just a teeny tiny bit about this company.

Im not here trying to say that Funcom is run by the Second Coming of jesus christ and a host of super-powerful angelic programmers on white horses come to save us from the droll cartoon hell that is  WoW.

They're not.

But jeeze.  Get a clue. "FunCom" >>Saga<<?  Erum, no.

Whaa if they broke a promise even in a partial way. Every single RPG I have known since freaking Ultima (Not Online) on my freaking Apple IIe has had its share of problems and letdowns.

As long as the game works well for most of the players and delivers on a fun time, I am betting 99% of the  customer base will get the freak over it.

You can always cancel your pre-order and wait until it comes out to see what people say.

In summation, yes its kinda   if they actually retracted on a promise they once had ... even if only partially... but of all the things you could say constitutes a big deal, the freaking extra free days due to pre-order aint one of them .. IMHO.

Acutually, the word may used in the context that it is means " have permission to " not " a chance of ." It was either a typo or someone didn't study up on their english very well. Most use a very clear definition when there is only " a chance." Then again, I've been saying all along that Funcom isn't very good at the whole customer service thing. I don't ever remember any company charging preorder customers an extra fee for early access.

Early access is supposed to be a perk of pre-ordering the game. What's next, are they going to charge a nominal fee to use the pre-order fluff items.

Wow, now I am worried.  Who will launch the game with all the FunCom employees behind bars for toy fraud?

It's been said over and over, the 5 bucks covers the bandwith cost. How many games have you download 12 gigs of data in one package?

     Hey! Not Funny!

Toy Fraud is a serious offense and carries serious charges!

it may not be sexy like Grand Theft Auto, Murder, or Manslaughter, but its no laughing matter!

Heck, My cousin was a victim of Toy Fraud when he was eight years old and he STILL twitches every time we pass a box of LEGO's..

every time!

I am not a fanboi and I am not twisting their words at all. I am about to post multiple links where the Early Access says it was limited. No I do not work for Funcom, Eidios or any other gaming company. I am a college professor with an IQ high enough to understand what Funcom meant. Also, if this isn't good enough for you Reanim, then thats fine. I will not be responding because the words in these articles and press releases speak for themselves.

----
The following article appeared on Funcom's website (and Age of Conan website) on or around April 16th 2008. Now I will quote from that article:
"Funcom now also confirms an early access program which will give customers a chance of a head-start in Age of Conan. Funcom reveals that American, European and Oceanic players may enter Age of Conan as early as the 17th of May. Mere weeks away, early adopters can now live, fight and explore in Hyboria, as well as getting an essential head-start before the hordes invade."
That article can be found here and here:

http://www.funcom.com/wsp/funcom/frontend.cgi?func=publish.show&table=CONTENT&func_id=1272
Now the following article appeared on multiple sites (including this one and others) on or around May 5th 2008.
" Registration for customers with pre-order keys has now opened on http://register.ageofconan.com. Registering with a valid pre-order key (such as the Rhino or Mammoth key) is the unique way to be eligible to purchase Early Access for 5€/5$. This fee includes 10 days of game-time as well as the digital download of the client. Hurry though, because the Early Access is only available while supply lasts!"
You can find it here. here and here:

I could link more and more articles but that should get the point across. To say there was no communication or knowledge of a limited access is a fallacy.

EDIT: I bolded certain phrases for added emphasis.
EDIT: You have now created 3 posts with the same topic/point in all of them. Its the same arguments so I ask please no more new threads. 3 is plenty.
You just illustrated my point... Thank you. On the 16th they stated everyone would get access. People ordered and they changed the rules. You see nothing wrong with this? Did they send out emails to all the preorders. Did they notify the retailers? No they waited till they had lots and lots of sales then hit the buyers with this.

you say you are not a fanboi yet you defend very questionable company behavior.

My posts are not the same. One was about EA. One about post moderation. And this one is about funcom lies.

OP is right it's false advertising, using early access to gain pre-orders and then saying they have to pay extra. Very bad buisness.

The issue with this whole Early Access is that people who ordered the Game early never got the a CHANCE at the Early Access. The reason: People didn't get their Codes in time from their retailer. I for one  never had chance. When I looked at my E-mail and found my code for the Early Access it was around sold out.
