I just finish talking to Funcom support. If everyone that has finished downloading would please reconnect you client. Especially those of you that have fast connections. It would greatly help those that haven't finished downloading. We need fast peers to complete this process for the slower peers. Your software will still upload even though you have finished downloading.
The reason my connection speeds are poor is because too many fast connections have left the peer network. You got your download then left the connection. It wasn't with malice. By reconnecting you can bolster the network.

I must be missing something because I purchased the early access program and they sent me the key but where do I get the game client from?
Funcom sent me a link via email.
Hmm.. never thought of that. I will leave my client running until tonight.

well, the problem was my server is in NYC, i'm in Nashville, and there was no GUI on my server, but I loaded up FreeNX on it, then loaded KDEBASE and Libs and bam, i have a desktop on my server now, Loaded Wine and runnign the Client Downloader now..

Launch the downloader and leave the Age of Conan Installation Menu open (closing the menu will also exit the downloader.) You are now seeding and can minimize the downloader to the system tray.
Well unfortunately I am pretty sure a lot of the people that are downloading this client don't even have early access keys and just want a copy of the game so there's a lot of wasted bandwidth going around. My peer list keeps going up. Whoever leaked the download link is an idiot...

I purchased my retail version today without a pre-order voucher from Gamestop. They were selling it all over the USA today.
Installed and patched in about 1hr 15 mins altogether.

Ya I'm not using the net tonight other than checking the boards so I dont mined if they eat my upload, and they cant do much with out a key to activate the account so I'm none to woried about a leaked DL link other than making it that much harder for the few that might still be out there that have EA but for what ever reason dont have the DL done yet.
I got my box set to day as well over nighted from Gamestop, a nice supprise even though I alredy had it DLed. Looks like we should be up an playing in 12hrs or so; so see ya in AoC.
1 question, I know how to use the DL client but dont see a method for viewing the peers; not that it matters just wondering how you know the number of clients hitting you?
Someone post a link for Digital Download please. I cant find it...
open up a command prompt and type "netstat -an" -- that will show a list of all connections. The ones associated to torrents are usually over port 20000. Their client does not give you this information.

WARNING THIS IS NOT A WHINE ABOUT EARLY ACCESS!!!
Ok now to my point. Alot of people like myself pre-order for the ea and didnt pay attention to it being limited cause in the past they have never had problems getting into an early acces/open beta type headstart. So the idea was order the pre-order get the key. get the ea, get the client then come actual release day who care when the game ships cause youre in already.
Well with EA limits this changes alot of peoples plans. This contributed alot to the anger people held. I myself immediately canceled my Pre-order online from gamestop. Then today I went and bought it at the store. So now its installed and patched all ready for the 20th. Those that ordered online with slow cheap shipping might not see it till the 25th. Now thats gonna suck to me them.
Oh well. you live and your learn. My excuse for missing it is honest. I hadnt decided quite yet to buy AOC. Then I ordered it and had to wait 24hr for the key, during that waiting period was when it ran out.... Time for plan B. I will miss being in EA but im over it.
So thats prolly why people are DLing the client. they thing they are gonna be able to log on on the 20th with it. This i doubt will be possible since the Pre-order doesnt provide any playtime unless you got in the EA

I gladly help seeding untill the servers are up but i dont really understand what program i need to open. Looked through the thread and still didn't get it, must be stupid so can someone plz tell me. Is it a file from the install files cause i think i already deleted them.

I don't think everyone did get a download link, as I do not have an email from them either. I am in early access too. This been said there are other places with the client but no way of knowing if they are out of date.
Just run the patcher and leave it at the point where it says 'Age of Conan is Up-To-Date'
