But before you dish out the money for that card bro, make sure your POWER SUPPLY can handle it. (prolly need a good 600 Watter or better) and also make sure your Video card slot is indeed a Pci-express slot (it probably is since you have the 6800 now)
Also remember that for the most part, your computer is only as good as your weakest link. However that major upgrade in your video card dept would definitely boost your gaming power a LOT. Also not a bad card to put into a new rig should you invest in one or build one down the road. The 8800GT should be a good video card for atleast two more years. (In 2 or 3 years, it will likely be about like your 6800XT is now)

Yep, at low graphics, maybe even medium settings, you should be fine.
Just a warning about that testsite. It tests more what your laptop graphic card is technically capable of than what its actual speed is. I just got my Geforce 8600M GT pass the recommended spec by far even tough I know that in practise my graphic card is slower than the recommended Geforce 7900 GTX.

I hate having no AA etc...can't stand to play a really ugly game, so tell me if its worth me getting AoC please! I want to play it but will hate if I have to use the minimum graphics! >.<

I meant to post,:Yeah, I tested it, processor was the fail part and I have my graphics card overclock some.
In what settings will i run with this: CPU Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2GB DDR II ---> upgrading to 4 gb XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB Motherboard: abit IP35-E OFF LIMITS OS: Windows Vista Home Premium I want to enjoy AoC to the max (playing in high settings ) so what do you suggest i upgrade? i thought of upgrading the ram, 2 to 4 gb and probably the video card to a Asus 9800 GTX 512 MB. Sugestions??
Someone wanting to show off e-peen. 9800GTX is based of the 8800 and not worth it. If you upgrade to 4gb of RAM make sure they are the same modules as you can run into problems and slow timings mixing modules. Best sell off the 2gb and buy a 4gb kit.
i personalyl would swap the quadcore for a dualcore cause quad only gives minor improvements in games (generally and in aoc) at same clockspeed and the dual will have higher clockspeed for same price.
also if you plan to run high textures i would recommend a 512mb gfx card. the new radeon 4850 seems to a very good value for price also geforce 8800gt is a good choice (but it seems the 4850 beats the 8800 in all benchamarks that i have seen and should be about same price).
also if you can i would upgrade ram to 4gb especially if you plan on running vista.
AMD 64 4000+ 2.4GHZ 2GB DDR 400mhz Geforce 8600GT 512 DDR2 540 gpu, 1000 memory Win. XP Prof. Sp2
Runs lotro on 1280x1024@ high settings with 40+ fps.
should run the game ok especially if you manually tweak settings, just don't expect it to run smooth with everything maxed (would need a better gfx card, more ram and probably a dual/quaddcore for maxed settings).
Some of my friends are playing this game now and I was thinking of trying it out. I'm not a tech geek so here are the plain specs of my computer.
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.93GHz (yes not dual core)
3.00 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB
I'm not interested in running this on high just looking to play on a medium setting or so, even with shadows turned off. Most people seem to have a dual core and I've heard that AOC is only utilizing one of the cores while the others are between 0-20%. Anyway I could play this game? Thanks

Sorry for the double post, but I looked a bit and would this be the one you were referring to? Link: 8800GT

Hey guys im thinkin about getting anew pc for AOC, ive been having a look aroun but im pretty crap with the techy stuff, would this XPS 420 run AOC?
