That being said, if you read my post again, I said the original skin, when I critiqued you. At the time of me posting, I did know that you could change it, and I did not care.
Also, let me tell you that it was a nice try to run "girlz" off as an advertising gimmick. The only problem with that is you are specifically targeting young teenage girls and completely mutilating their reputation.
I have met many girls in game, ranging from thirteen years old to women of thirty years or more. There have even been some girls in their teenage years that speak and act as though they are thirty. Personally, I like it when people at least try to sound intelligent. Even if they can't use "big" words or explain themselves properly, just the proper grammar is enough to tell me that they are not a complete idiot.
I went off on a tangent. Alright, I spent enough time writing this. I just woke up and I am actually going to a swim club in an hour.

I would reather see lady gamers too, but making a seperate site for them and recruiting them from other MMORPG sites doesnt create new lady gamers. Why not join a site like MMORPG.com and get to know all the lady gamers and become part of the male AND female community instead of singling out women? You dont see any sites for African American or American Indian gamers do you?? Its just rediculous and its apparent someone just needs attention.

The challenge wasn't actually to win Rik....it wasn't really a challenge...I thought I would share something that I thought was interesting with others people. Unfortunately what it ultimately did was really show that there was a need for a place for girl to go talk and not be ridiculed, made fun of and actually not get hurt feelings. I have rather enjoyed talking to most of you but then again....real colours have tended to show the more I have been here.

So all that being said.....

Well, I haven't really posted that much on here. But I do have something to comment. You say that because of the recent attacks there is even more of a need for a specific gender based gaming site. But, no ones attacking girls, in fact they're attacking the fact that it'd alienate the girl gaming population.

Which I think thats what websites like those do. People shouldn't attack you, but in a more civilized manner, I'd have to agree in a way, websites like these tend to even add more of an apartheid.

What do you mean by that? All you did was post on this topic . . . you didn't post anywhere else. The REAL COLORS are that you inteded to come here and advertize a site then leave and it was on your 1st post! We welcome all people and we all have a good friendship here. We don't care if your a boy or girl we welcome you here, but what you did wasn't a good idea. Your basicly trying to steal female members away.

I think that being that you didn't post anywhere is obiously shows that you only intended to advertize your site, just here to rake in some members and run away. You didn't post around the boards which kinda shows me that your not a gamer yourself. You didn't even become a part of this site for us to open up and for us to show our REAL COLORS.

lets say you made a cool website and you had a lot of member in your boards. Then comes along a new member who on first post advertize their game site to try to get some members without even asking and dosent' post anywhere else on the boards which shows that they only came here for one reason, to steal members and leave. How would you feel?

Staff at MMORPG may have even supported your site but you did it without asking. I think you knew you was going to expect somthing like this.

Please . . . what was your real intentions of comming here? We know cuz you already shown it. I want you to stay and be a part of this community but if you came here to just advertize your site then you came here for the wrong reason . . .

My sentiments exactly. If you were already a member, part of the community here, then no one would likely have any problem. But when youre first post and only thread is to advertize for another site using someone elses bandwidth... well thats just kinda sleazy, People dont need a gender specific site anyway, it just segregates things further. Just like all girl clans etc, you alienate yourself from everyone else.

Here's the thing guys, I told her maybe she'd want to let people know here, and if you search my posts, you'll find that I have posted in different areas prior to her even coming on here, mainly in the EQ2 section some in the CoH. Yes, her first post was here, yes, all her posts we're in here, but she's kept up on this thread religiously taking all the BS, all the compliments, and all the criticism in and replying to it not to leave anyone hanging. Prior to her posting here, all the stuff we were interested in, I read off to her or let her know in some form or fashion, and some of my posts have her thoughts in it as well. She didn't come here to steal members. She came here to let people know about her site. Yes, a shameless plug, but adding to the community. Look at the length of this thread, it gave people something to talk about, if that isn't adding to the community, then what is it?

I don't think that that post was aimed particularly at you Rik, she actually appreciates the support you've given all the way through this thread, as do I. I'm sure she did not come here to offend anyone, but got offended by many. Some of these posts have been tough to take, but she has done so. I don't blame her for not posting anywhere else as much as she's been flamed here. But she does explore the site, she does read other posts, for what it's worth, she is part of this community as well as her own site. In any case, I love this site, so does she, we've found alot of cool things, met some cool people. By no means did she mean to sabatoge in any way, shape, or form if that's what your getting at. It's not exactly possible either, this site dwarfs hers. But her site does give a nice little place to get away from the hard core L33T ones and just hang out.

I've read thru this thread, visited the website, and all I've got to say is what is the big deal. It is a site I wouldn't personally sign onto because I'm a 31 year old single male, and I'm also already a member of 6 other forums besides mmorpg.com so it is enough for me to keep up with all of them. That and I have a very hectic work load right now so it is hard enough to find time to relax and play games as well as post on the forums. Caffeine tends to help out though.

I don't feel like Serrafina is trying to "steal" members away. Just because someone visits or is a member of another site, does that mean they can't also be a member of mmorpg.com and vice-a-versa.

Another point is that if mmorpg.com and the admins and mods had found a problem with Serrafina and this thread, she would've already been contacted and this thread locked or deleted. She posted in the correct forum topic area, and she has been very patient and nice listening to corrective criticism and also the immature flamers.

Serrafina, I wish you the best of luck and much success to you and your husband. You already know this, but don't pay attention to the immature teenage flamers, though some might be 20 something or 30 something and just haven't had there goolies drop yet, because they are just part of being online and part of life just like the jerks in the real world that cut you off in traffic and then flip you off.

Since none of this has happened the mods obviously dont mind it , so i dont see why the members are getting so offensive of her advertising this here.

Actually, sometimes the mods are weird like that. I remember a thread a while back called like "Too hot" or something. Went on for what...15 pages. Then suddenly dissapeared.

Well the smart thing to do then would be to post it yourself or to have her at least fake some interest in the site first, I mean its blantantly obvious otherwise. Use some common sense. You wouldnt want a person to sign up for your site and the first thing they say is "hey check out this cool game site". And of course her site is small, guess what... so was MMORPG.com so was every other internet site in history at first. So that arguement holds no water. If you want to advertize go through proper channels first or at least ask first if you can do it.

Just because a forum or gaming site, like mmorpg.com, is small or large doesn't make it a better or good site. It is the content of the site, along with the layout, the people that visit and are members of the site, the work of the admins and mods of the site and whether or not the site interest you and keep your interest.

What one person's idea of a favorite or best site is, is another's idea of trash. Now, mmorpg.com to me is a pretty good site and one I enjoy, otherwise I wouldn't be a member here and a fairly active member at that.

One thing concern's me is that you think because of the increase in the membership of mmorpg.com that it is not as good or the quality has gone down hill. Does that mean that a newer member such as myself is unwanted and somehow brings down the quality of the site?

A good test of how good a site is, in my opinion, is how well it responds to growth. With any growth in membership and also in the popularity of a good web site, "trolls" and other immature people will be a part of the percentage of that site's population. Even when a site is starting up or is smaller, you can find "trolls" and such. It is just part of being in an online community.

That is true Finwe, and I have to agree.

In fact, that is true with about everything in life. While living in a large city or metropolis may be convienent and fun, it just doesn't have the personalbility and quality of life you find in a smaller city or town.

It is like when your favorite mmog or mog becomes popular, and just doesn't seem as friendly and fun to play because you encounter some of those newbs that think they are god's gift to the game.

It is just something I've learned to accept in online mmogs, mogs and web sites. For the most part, the general pop here at this site are fun, mature, and people who are interested in mmorpgs and this site. It is those few arses you encounter that can make you want to log and relog hopping that they've been smited by a admin or mod in the brief meantime.

Serrafina, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Hope you don't mind.
