The game is fun and looks and runs fantastic on my machine. So far I have run into cosmetic bugs and issues only and those will be fixed eventually.
The only thing bothering me is the extreme leveling speed. I expect to see lvl 80s this weekend, if there aren't already. To keep a steady base of subscribers this requires FunCom to deliver new content quite rapidly, particularly of the social kind as that tends to keep the not vocal majority happy.
For now I'm enjoying my stay in Hyboria and plan to subscribe because there is nothing else around. Just how long I'll be playing depends on which direction the game will go in.
I'll be most definitely subscribing to the game. The game is just so much fun on so many levels. The graphics are really nice, the fatality moves are awesome and there is just a ton of world to explore.
Lurking with no plans on playing but I am curious enough to see what others think. But I skip the negative posts as I am more interested in those happy with the game.
The game is more polished than previous MMO launches. I'm enjoying it.
The quest lore is engaging, the graphics are lush, the sounds are awesome (surround sound kicks ass in this game). On the whole a very nice game.
I'm finding that although I normally love casters, Rangers are awesome with their combos.
Yeah the game has little niggles, which can be eliminated quickly later on (e.g. chat interface needs to be a little less basic and we could do with being able to move and lock certain UI items around the screen but I'm not fussed atm). None which I would class as game-breaking. The fps isn't what I would like, but hey I'm playing on high settings. It still plays very well (100x better than Vanguard ever could in cities).
Very pleased with the game so far. I see room for improvement and growth but it has been the smoothest launch I can remember. Glad I got my CE preordered so early now.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Give a fish a man and he will eat for a month!
Not yet as I'm stuck in a quest and cant leave. Every time my character get into a building my frame rate just stops. At best 10 per sec and my options are lowest possible the game looks like eq 1 atm for me. with a computer that exceeds the RECOMENDED spec by some degree. not the min but the recomended specs. My video card is an nvidia 8500 with pixle shader3.0
Now I know the game is only two days old but if it cant run on an average video card it just cant be played.
I dont recomend it to anyone till it is optimized further faster.
The game is great. I haven't had a single problem since launch. There are a couple areas that are buggy right now, but they are easy to avoid. I'm running 2 8800gt's and a Q6600 intel with 4 gigs of ram and it is one of the most visually realistic MMO I've played yet. It's the only game I've played since Asheron's Call that gets my adrenaline pumping. Skill really comes into play in the combat system. I've been attacked from behind by a character 3 levels higher, and still managed to get the kill. And nothing is more rewarding than getting a fatality on somebody that just tried to gank you.
Eh, unsure. It's a beautiful game and I'm having fun, but I've also yet to get past level 15 or so as I'm too busy trying classes out and having fun learning the game mechanics. IMO, there's a lot that could use tweaking (UI, Chat window, small bugs in mob movement/AI), but nothing gamebreaking. Now, I have a pretty strong PC, so I play it maxed out with tolerable framerates (though I'd never raid like this, I need more RAM!), but it still moves and looks gorgeous.
Ask me again when my month is up. If I start paying...then yeah, it's totally worth it.
Tried the beta and got to level 21 and I'm now "lurking". Probably won't even buy the game. Sure it's nice to look at and less cookie-cutter than some MMOs but there is something missing. For some reason I just can't get excited about this game.
Yeah, I got a 8500 with most stuff set near minimum but frame rates hovering around 8 n the inn and 12-15 in Tortage. Not horribly noticable but battles leave a bit to be desired. Still on the fence about getting more ram and a 8800 just to run AoC.....
Been playing the game since Tuesday and I wish I never picked it up. In my opinion the graphics are way over-rated. It just like EQ2 on very high setting. Movement is odd. Moving forward and back is smooth, once you trying making a turn it’s clunky as hell.
The UI is an absolute mess. The chat box is extremely clunky and very frustrating to try and talk to someone.
It's very easy to get stuck on objects, or fall between cracks, I’ve used the /stuck command about 100 times so far.
The combat system is nothing special. Remove the auto attack from any standard MMO and this is your combat system. The directional attacks are absolutely nothing more then auto attack, or additional attacks to start a combo depending on when you use them. Using them in combo’s works exactly like any other ability in an MMO requiring a pre req.
Funcom got long ways to go, especially on the UI. It's one of the most important features and they really FUBAR that
And for all those people stating how mature this community would be? You are so wrong. The community is aweful.

Maybe on your server there, but everything is going great on ours. Sorry your server left you with a bad taste in your mouth, but all servers are different as you well know.
To answer the OP question.
Yeah, I will be subscribing, I am with a excellent guild and RL friends all on the same server. As we know, the majority of players are digging the game. Its ranked #6 on Xfire.com as most played with World of Warcraft being #1.
No it’s just the best MMORPG I have ever played. And it makes WoW look the kiddy toy that is it.
ZZZZzzzzzz
It *is* my favorite MMO to date, but I still need to give it more time. If this game can keep up with the excellent story-driven quests (ala Bioware quality), I can easily see myself playing this game alot longer than I've played any other MMO. The combat is incredible, sound is excellent, the world is beautiful and alive, and the NPCs are the most engrossing characters I've ever played with in an MMO.
AoC is definitely worthy to be compared to the likes of WoW.

Its just too early to tell. I'm having a decent time playing, but there is a ton of shit that is annoying.
Lots of things could have been done better. Needed another 6 months to a year.
love the game right now i worry about the end game tho and how long it will keep me playing i just hit 40 tho and so far the game rocks

So, what server you on? I noticed a utter lack of maturity on quite a few servers. I am looking for one that doesn't have evil little kids on it
