Turbine? LOTRO has amazing graphics also. Im no fan boy, but its really amazing. That being said I have ordered age of conan, have a lifetime sub to LOTRO, and am currently playing the burning crusade. I like them all in thier own ways so far.
Just you wait
If you are impressed by the flat, lifeless world of LotRO on my godz will you be in love with Conan. It really is on a different level. The leap that Turbine made between Ac and LotRO is similar to the one made here. Just you wait

As skeptical as I am by nature, this game took me by surprise by how solid out of the gates it is. I am running just the minimum requirements, (that will change soon) I was pleasantly surprised. SWG was completely useless coming out of the gates and it turned into a decent game.. up until you know when.. AoC was great potential if it is this good at launch..
I'm not sure what you mean by that. Blizzard has a really strong marketing team, that has even produced and run TV adds, which is a first for any MMO I believe.
No other MMO ever made the money WoW has either so... If given that other MMO's had the money then I am sure they would have..
This may come as a shock to you, but not everyone shares your experiences. I was reading some posts on the official forums and there are many people with nice rigs having issues. It's not a sick joke or a hoax. We don't know why at this point. Some people need upgrades that's obvious, but others have really nice computers and the game performs not so well for them. Just consider yourself fortunate.
But thanks for sharing. Nice to see the game runs great for some people.
Im not saying that i hate AoC.. but.. really they did make a mistake releasing it so dam early , they should have given it a few more months to work out any bugs and smoothen game play instead of releasing it with all these bugs and stuff , and this will lead to more downtime to fix these.. Unlike Warhammer Online , who has extended their release date to work out everything and make it perfect on day 1 so that people dont experience choppy gameplay , some times its not the computer that is causing it , you can have a really good computer but if your in a choppy area of the game , it will get laggy or w/e.. So if your computer is running slowly in AoC , just 1.) run a virus scan 2.) run a defrag 3.) restart 4.) turn off unused things in the taskbar... like yahoo , or msn , or aim and it will free up some ram so it wont lag as bad.
Originally posted by Turdinator: Wow. So many great points made in that post. You are a fine addition to the Athiest movement my good man. Keep up the good work and post as often as you like. It sounds like you have important/intelligent things to say.

My guild has 56 members. Around 25 of them has moved on to AOC. Only 1 of them had
problems, but was easily solved by installing the latest Nvidia drivers.
In my eyes that's really good.
I remember when WoW launched. Jesus, that was a disaster. We couldn't play
for days and the client was very shaky. Worst part was all the lag. Funny thing,
people tend to forget things like that.
Anyway, I share your pain of having technical problem

I think It's to early to say that Warhammer Online won't have any bugs. So far they haven't even
added lightmaps or shaders to the game client. That's why the beta footage looks like s*it
(won't look like that when it's done).
I really hope that the "success" of AOC motivates the developers at Mythic to even work
harder to make a great game. But saying there won't be bugs .. nah .. don't think so.
How can you say in the same post that EQ2 has climbable surfaces, AND say that no other MMO has voice overs, or voice overs past 20? EQ2 has a ton of voice over content.

Why in earth are people complaining about the voice over stops after level 20.
I think 20 levels of voice over is just amazing !!!
I mean, how many levels in WoW have voice over. All I hear In that game is
"Zug Zug" and a text telling me to kill 100 wolfs.
And the instancing. Man, I really love it. When ever find an area to overcrowed
where everyone are fighting over the same NPC, I can easily switch instance.
And trust me, It easily gets overcrowded.
The night mode for single player mode is brilliant. It allows for scripted
quests which involves you in a deep and good story.

I clicked on this thread expecting to read another "OMGTHISGAMESUCKS!" post. I was amused.
* Pump ... up the volume, pump up the volume ... boom boom ... *
all grahpics
no substance
1-20 single player?
Is this an MMO ?
dumbasses
O_o
Updated after I hit level 25
1-20 is not all singleplayer, you would know that if you played but your just a troll prolly anyway.
O_o
Now THAT was funny.
* Updated after hitting level 27 *
Well what the OP posted was really no better and no more constructive than "OMGTHISGAMESUCKS", but I'm glad your double standard is serving you well.
