I just checked my SOE account and I see I just got a 60 days free timeplay for EQ2 with all expansions. I never bought it, I just played the trial a year ago.
Just FYI
Comments
I just checked mine also and sure enough 60 days on both everquest and everquest 2. Although I was a subsriber to both games for years though. Not sure if I will install them again as I play LotR:O (founding lifetime account) and AoC.
Same here.
Got 54 days on EQ and 60 days on EQ2 left. Although I have been subscribing to these games on and off.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

Thanks for this thread!
I was just looking at the EQ2 forum, as I was thinking about re-trying the game. It was my first MMORPG and has a special place in my heart.
Was going to make a thread asking if it was worth re-trying, and then I saw this thread. Logged in, thinking it was too good to be true, but low and behold, my account has been re-activated!
I am just waiting for the patcher too finish, but this has made my day. Splitpaw here I come!
I played for about a week back at release when I had a really bad computer. Currently bored and my pc can't really handle AoC at the moment (poor fps on all settings ) and so I've just installed this game again. Haha, 60 free days, can't complain really, I'll give it a try.
Hmm...any idea what server I should play on? (I'm in England)
I just noticed the same thing on my SOE account ive got around 50 somthing to 60 days with all EQ1 expansions enabled and I havent bought anything past Titanium Ed. And EQ2 ive got 10 days on that account and all expansions etc. enabled and I just went out and bought rise of kunark yesterday, and just realized after i put in the account key that everything was already enabled..... so whats going on with all that?
Awesome, I got 60 days free aswell, and 54 days left on EQ1. I was just thinking about resubbing actually cos I used the 7 day trial key to see how well the game ran on my system (as I have built a new PC, my old one sucked that I used to play EQ2 on and I got really bad framerates) and decided to resub then noticed 60 days free.
simplz amazing, same here, I have free play time for 60 days. Thanks for the information!
Lordtooter - I recommend you play on Splitpaw - an EU server.
I have a character called Satrax there (as well as several others), and am a member of a guild called Dark Torment. So if you roll a character there, feel free to give me a shout. (I am from Scotland, and a lot of other guildies are also from UK).
The only thing to remember to get to the EU servers is that you have to change your area at the terms and conditions page, when the game is loading, or else you will be presented with the US servers.
Anyway, hope to see you in game. If they are granting access to the RoK expansion, then I will probably roll an alt, and see the new area.
Great news indeed,i have to say this move was quite professional by SOE.
After my(not so good) AoC experience i was thinking to resubscribe on EQ2.
EQ2 always had a special place in my heart compared to other mmos, greatest community i've experienced and amazing game with depth.
I hope this will bring more peeps back!
Cheers for the post OP.
It is a promotion they are putting on now. They reactivated all old accounts because there is a live event coming this summer and it sounds like it is going to be amazing. There is an expansion coming out called The Shadow Odyssey and the live events are probably leading up to it. There are banners on this site about it, which is very odd of SOE (for some reason, they are against advertising this big).

Yep, think I might have been out of line criticising Sony for not promoting this. Looks like it's not officially happening until June 2nd - tomorrow. I've just been looking at the Rise of Kunark screens as my pute updates the EQ2 files and I'm really looking forward to entering again. The screens look great! I never did have a quarrel with the game though. It was already as good as anything around last year, looks like it might even be better now. I just hope the support has improved too.

How big is the total download from scratch?
I might consider downloading it as a time filler until Funcom fixes the buggy AoC.

Anyone know where I can get a digital download of EQ1?
Was thinking about playing it and since I have 60 free days might as well.
Try here: http://launcher.station.sony.com/
game with all expansions and all additional downloads uses just a bit over 10gb on my harddisk, i think the patcher use compression on downloads but you probably will still have to download about 7gb+.
Awesome timing.... -.- I just wasted 14€ on a one-month-subscription to try EQ2 again, which made me decide tha the game is unfortunately dead for me, been away too long, know no people on the server etc. Maybe if WAR wasn't on the way the time investement might be worth it, but given the situation it isn't.
Damn, SOE really could have started this half a month ago.
Its about time they did something like this thats for sure
Hehe always has to be a catch somewhere
This is amazing offer.

Well, time to open that signed Collectors Edition of RoK I won here back in December so I can add the bonuses to my old account. Now I just need to pick a good PvE server to start fresh on.
