I'm leaving WoW for EQ2

Yeah, WoW was released wwaaaaay too early.  And it pisses me off that the eviscerate no longer ignores armor like it did in beta, and paladins skills should still work on undead horde.  This is ridiculous.  And where are hero classes?  They promised them right after release and it's been two weeks and I haven't heard anything!  I'm going back to Everquest 2, WoW sucks ballz.

Wow will never succeed.  It is too buggy, and release too early.  EQ2 is going to steal ALL the players!  Take that blizzard!

Are you on the right forum?? Talking about WoW on AoC... that is really weird....

And yes, never really played WoW for over a couple of hours, but never liked the engine or the gameplay... oh well... hehe

What a mature post. Nearly as mature as boobs and decapitations.

People have other other bad things to say about AoC than details and semantics from gameplay.

If you are so upset that people dislikes or simply does not like your favouritegame as much as you would like; get the fuck over it and go enjoy all those boobies and decapitations.

Irony, from the Greek ε?ρων (eiron), is a literary or rhetorical device, in which there is a gap or incongruity between what a speaker or a writer says, and what is generally understood (either at the time, or in the later context of history). ...

Well, to spell it out for you, I am making a point.  These are the complaints they made about WoW when it was released and didn't have 12 million subscribers.  The same people are making the same complaints about AoC....all the other posters got it but you, fyi.

Have you ever saw the game names he used... he's in hate with WoW, not AoC....

Irony is also like twohanded swords. Kids should not nor cannot wield them.

I don't get the point of this thread. I sense sarcasm, but not very well played.

A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.

It is an excellent post, reread it, maybe it will make more sense this time.

Indeed. As badly played sarcasm as a funcomic content designer for levels above 40.

    Sorry, that was not nice.

Because, it is not sarcasm.  These were (are) real complaints about WoW (they still don't have hero classes).  This post would be perfectly valid in the wow forum, however, if I move it to the AoC forums, it becomes Irony.

Indeed. It becomes irony in the sense that AoC could only dream as to only have such minor flaws in its gameplay?

Bah. Your point obviously is to signal that AoC must rockzor since its - in your views - itsy bitsy bugs and general flaws are nothing grander than what is reeking on the wrong side of the fence in WoW-land.

Your (hidden) agenda/point is to state that AoC is a straw or two short of becoming as big a golden haystack as WoW.

Thus me - and others - crying out against your bad use of sarcasm...or irony, if you prefer calling it that..cause of its weakness. Its a more unbalanced argument than the classes of AoC themselves. Its the boobies with nipples in a videogame for people nearly ever experiencing such things in real life, if you will. A sad substitute and a sign of desperation.

If a group of persons dislikes a game you like, they must automatically be wrong and idiots? If they want something else than you want, they are morons?

    Bah.

Hehe, thought OP was posting in the wrong forum at first

Good point OP, Ihope AoC will improve and deserve success,

but I think we might have to wait a year or 2 till we really can say if it's success or not though.

  • ThriftThrift Member Posts: 1,783

For thoes who dont get this post the OP is saying look what happened when WoW was released, they had problems just like AoC is having but in the end look what happened to WoW.. #1 MMO out right now sooo maybe give AoC sometime to fix up a bit.

In all seriousness, EQII is trying to make a massive comeback.

    EQ 2 making a comeback?

Why did they wait so long? Don't get me wrong, its still a great game and definetly has its subscriber base, but it to capture NEW mmorpg players, maybe some, but not all.

I even thought about going back prior to AoC, but what for? Maybe to kill some time, see the old scenary, visit old friends? But definetly, I will make my way back, one day. Just not now.

This game is going to be "it", once people start siege warfare, it makes everything else looking amateur.

    OP, you are a genius!

i laughed so hard at those who didn't catch it right away, was quite amusing.

But yeah if you look at it, like when WoW launched and people complained, and now AoC, it's the exact same pattern. The question however, can Funcom do it as Blizzard did? I'm a little worried about that.

Im sure WOTLK will have sieges as aoc does adn artilery units blah blah blah,... the problem is the game itself will be the same ...alll pvp classes use same specc, same pvp gear,no further specialazation/customazation for characters so they would be reallly diferent from eachother ,i mean in talents and speccs, and ofc the same boring auto-non skilled based combat system we all got bored with =]
