As an Ex-Beta player (played to level 63 before char wipe) and currently 45 in live I feel I should put my opinion to this...
Funcom are not ripping anyone off, you as an individual have the right to choose if you purchase the game or not and have the right to an opinion as anyone else, but to try force your opinion onto someone because they do not agree with your opinion is selfish and also very childish.
There Is a lack of content at level 50+ this is very much a true statement and grinding mobs can set in as early as level 43 (if you have blasted out just about every quest you can in field of the dead and noble district)
but it comes down to a matter of choice, do you wish to stick it out and wait for content to come in, the bugs to be ironed out the customer service to improve? or will you take the choice now to walk away and write it off as a bad experience and play something else while the next mmo rolls around?
Personally I stuck with AO, I'll stick with AoC for a few more months, I have pre-ordered WAR in the meantime so I can take a look into the beta to see if its going to be worth my time and money, if WAR is good and AoC shows few signs of improvements then I will go ahead and jump ship but that is the choice I have made.

If you promise something then it should be there...if you know it can't be there than be man enough to say "it won't be in but its coming in a patch" thats called good customer relations & communication somethign Funcom lacks every so often.
btw Funcom launched AoC a year and a half to 2 years late and it was due to money...they didnt' have a choice but to launch when they did. The game was in development for nearly 5 years...and it does show because the graphics are stunning and the combat system is from what people say rather good. But there were promises made ... and they KNEW ... they knew atleast 2 to 3 weeks before launch what wouldn't be in the game and they never said a peep because they knew it would piss off the community.

It depends on the person really. Some will treat it as any other form of entertainment and move on (when was the last time you stalked the forums of a movie you didn't like?). Others will treat it as an unsutisfying good purchased (thus file a report to the company regarding the malfunction). A minority will visit these forums to vent frustration (whether this frustration is justified or not is totally irrelevant).
Which brings us to the point in question: Are they justified to vent this frustration in the way presented?
Hard to tell. Forums such as these were created to facilitate diversity among the opinions of each poster. It's only natural to get positive and negative opinions. It's also natural to get extreme opinions. As long as everyone, including the posters, realise that it's just that, opinions, then no harm is done by sharing them. It also helps when people are open to criticism, no matter what the topic is.
Bottom line, you can't help it having people on these forums posting mostly negative views of any given situation. It also makes the situation worse trying to refute negative opinions. Even when sometimes they are untrue or grossly exagerated. Usually the people who try to confront such opinions, end up making grossly exagerated claims of the opposite direction. End result is that neither side is objective and the truth is not served.
No matter what the lovers or haters say on these forums, it doesn't matter on the grander scale of things. What matters is what the player base is voting with their wallet in the end of each gaming month. What also matters is that the game is fun for the people that play it. It's both a curse and a blessing that we don't like the same things. Or that we can't tolerate the same problems. That's why the gender needs diversity. Diversity and realistic expectations.
In any case, have fun with whatever you're playing and please respect those who play the games you don't like. Having different tastes in things is what makes us human.

They should atleast amend their promises instead of launching with things missing that were said to have been in the game for weeks. Like DX10 they kept swearing DX10 is there for launch barely a day maybe 2 days after the Launch "Oh there's no DX10" thats a LIE ..a cheat...a bait and switch.
If you promise something then it should be there...if you know it can't be there than be man enough to say "it won't be in but its coming in a patch" thats called good customer relations & communication somethign Funcom lacks every so often.
btw Funcom launched AoC a year and a half to 2 years late and it was due to money...they didnt' have a choice but to launch when they did. The game was in development for nearly 5 years...and it does show because the graphics are stunning and the combat system is from what people say rather good. But there were promises made ... and they KNEW ... they knew atleast 2 to 3 weeks before launch what wouldn't be in the game and they never said a peep because they knew it would piss off the community.

To the OP:
It depends on the person really. Some will treat it as any other form of entertainment and move on (when was the last time you stalked the forums of a movie you didn't like?). Others will treat it as an unsutisfying good purchased (thus file a report to the company regarding the malfunction). A minority will visit these forums to vent frustration (whether this frustration is justified or not is totally irrelevant).
Which brings us to the point in question: Are they justified to vent this frustration in the way presented?
Hard to tell. Forums such as these were created to facilitate diversity among the opinions of each poster. It's only natural to get positive and negative opinions. It's also natural to get extreme opinions. As long as everyone, including the posters, realise that it's just that, opinions, then no harm is done by sharing them. It also helps when people are open to criticism, no matter what the topic is.
Bottom line, you can't help it having people on these forums posting mostly negative views of any given situation. It also makes the situation worse trying to refute negative opinions. Even when sometimes they are untrue or grossly exagerated. Usually the people who try to confront such opinions, end up making grossly exagerated claims of the opposite direction. End result is that neither side is objective and the truth is not served.
No matter what the lovers or haters say on these forums, it doesn't matter on the grander scale of things. What matters is what the player base is voting with their wallet in the end of each gaming month. What also matters is that the game is fun for the people that play it. It's both a curse and a blessing that we don't like the same things. Or that we can't tolerate the same problems. That's why the gender needs diversity. Diversity and realistic expectations.
In any case, have fun with whatever you're playing and please respect those who play the games you don't like. Having different tastes in things is what makes us human.
Age of conan is a good game, but some people dont like it. thats cool but dont be a punk about it. only 2 weeks their still working some of the bugs out so what just enjoy it. funcom just needs time and fix their customer service but here thats life but i will admit it i rather play age of conan so if u love wow more please go to wow its calling your name. means i dont have to deal with your ass.
