Fluoride in "baby water"

BlomiBlomi Member Posts: 200

I was in Walmart yesterday picking up some bottled water and I saw something odd on the shelf.  Gallon jugs of water with pictures of a baby on the front with the words "Fluoride added for your baby".  LOL

Some say Fluoride is "good for your teeth".  Regardless of it that has any truth to it or not, in your stomach it is pure poison.  Bad enough that it is added to most public water supplies, now people think its something good for your baby to drink.  On one hand its funny, on the other its very sad that people are unwittingly poisoning their baby and even paying extra to do so.  Wow, just wow.

Before you blow a fuse dear OP:

Interesting, though I must admit bottled water with fluoride in it sounds a little dodgey.

They should ship boatloads of it to England. Those people need all the dental help they can get.

Fluoride IS a poison! The 1984 issue of Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products lists fluoride as more poisonous than lead and just slightly less poisonous than arsenic.

I'd say it's safe to go ahead and blow that fuse OP.

Most Americans are blind sheep. We believe what the doctors, dentists, government tells us to believe.

You're comparing conspiraciy theories with proven facts. I'm not going to argue with you. You are a sheep...don't feel bad though, most Americans are.

Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products must be some made up organization.

It has been used as a pesticide for mice, rats and other small pests. A 10lb infant could be killed by 1/100 of an ounce and a 100lb adult could be killed by 1/10 of an ounce of fluoride. The Akron Regional Poison Center indicates that a 7 ounce tube of toothpaste contains 199 mg. of fluoride, more than enough to kill a 25lb child. Even Procter & Gamble, the maker of Crest, acknowledges that this is true "theoretically, at least." There are documented deaths of infants and children caused by "normal dosage" of fluoride tablets or treatments.

Still think I'm full of shit? Go grab your toothpaste and see if YOU can find the skull and x-bones on the back, followed by the number to poison control.

Fluoride probably does prevent tooth decay. I'm not argueing that.

The facts are out there. People are too lazy to look.  If the dentist said eating a shit sandwich would prevent cavities would you eat one?.....probably

     edit:

Your friends teeth may have rotten out due to lack of flouride. My Grandparents have drank only well water their whole lives....they still have all of their teeth.

I'd be willing to bet that flouride just delays cavities for a small handful of years.  making it great for children who'd be losing them before that time anyways.

Lets see flouride also is chemically similar to calcium.  and there has been plenty of cases where the bones of people have taken up both flouride and calcium instead of calcium.  causing early arthritis, and particularly Osteroporsis.  If you expect me to remember that the book you're insane, basically it was my 8th grade final english paper the teachers were particullarly annoying about the type of resources we could use.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

    ok.

i read in a parenting magazine that second hand smoke to the baby in the womb increases the chance of a collicky baby.

i think that is bogus data and research. an agenda.

does smoking cause brain cancer in non smokers? how?

does smoking cause testicular cancer in smokers? how did it get to my ballz?

does smoking cause lung cancer? possibly. maybe in some and not others?

    Fluoride is a posion.

It also has other mental affects; if I remember correctly one affect is to decreases aggression. Not too sure if I have that 100% I have to go find that article. But school is over and I don't know if they'll allow me into the library if i'm not a grad student.

Well the first use of Fluoride in water was at NAZI concentration camps.  The purpose was to sedate the prisoners so they would not resist.  Draw your own conclusions on why its in our water supply today.

Yeah it may be bad in the long term blah blah blah...

But in children it can be very beneficial, at least for a little while.

By the way Blomi, your quote is false. 98% is a grossely exagerated number. Where did you get this stat... from the population of Amsterdam?

Theres a guy that posts here.  I copied his sig and modified it. His says that "98% smoked, if you are in the 2% that didn't then copy this into your sig."  I kind of reversed it.

Heres a stat for you;  84% of statistics are made up on the spot.

    Because I'm not a sheep?

I base my decisions on facts. Not what the local dentist/doctor tells me.

  • NeanderthalNeanderthal Member RarePosts: 1,861

Not that it really means anything but I grew up drinking water from a old, hand-dug well and I never had any dental problems.

Of course, once in a while a snake would crawl out of the well but we tried not to think about stuff like that.

If you can't believe your local dentist/doctor you shouldn't be using them.    My doctor was very helpfull in highschool when I borrowed a bit of his time to get floride info stuffs off him.

Cancer is caused from carcinogens mutating the DNA and causing it to essentially become immortal.  It doesn't know when to stop growing and replicating itself.

Your body will probably get cancer more than once during your lifetime.  When you have a healthy immune system or if the cancer does not get into an area where it can spread to a more susceptible organ, then it might be fought off and you'll never know the difference.  However, if your immune system is challenged then it can overwhelm the body and require medical attention and possibly result in death.

As far as the carcinogens from cigarettes getting to your testicles, those carcinogens are inhaled and pass into the alveoli of your lungs and then travel through your bloodstream.  That is how the carcinogens are passed around your body.  Those carcinogens are in second hand smoke.

So, the more you subject your body to carcinogens, the greater the likelihood that someday that mutated gene will overcome your bodies natural defenses.

That is why not every smoker gets cancer of some sort or another.  At least not cancer that requires a doctors visit.

I think it has more to do with diet than fluoride.  People today eat a lot of crap.  If we didn't, then we may not see many problems if we did not use fluoride.

That's just my guess.  I tend to think the human body can do some great things if it's not bombarded from all sides by what we put it through today.
